Chapter Twenty-Eight: Angels x Father POV: Cruel Opportunities

Song recommendations: Cruel World By Active Child

The vanilla scent woke her up and she felt her entire being be at peace. She didn't know why her body felt as though it was in heat as she could barely feel any clothing around her.

When her eyes slowly opened and she was able to blink away the haze. She noticed everything around her. This was the very apartment that he had brought her to. Some of her stuff was here and she could see certain things that she was sure she had left messy were nor sorted.

Her mother must have probably been the one to sort it out.

The very memory of him being here flashed in her mind. She could see him staring at her with fear before running out. Leaving her pain-filled to the core, wanting to tell him to come back whilst also knowing that it would be wiser to run.

"Aural…" she heard and turned to see her mother staring at her by the door. "How are you feeling?" she asked. "Slightly okay," I murmured as I pushed myself up. "You should lay down love if you still not feeling a hundred percent."

I sighed, knowing that she was right but in all honesty. I didn't want to be laying down anymore. I didn't want to be remembering everything that had taken place in this place. I didn't want to be part of the living anymore. It was hard just having to come to terms with everything that had taken place.

I hadn't even realized that I had tears streaming down my cheeks until I felt my mom place her hands on my back and pull me into her embrace. "Oh my child, please talk to me," she whispered as she rubbed her back. "I want to go home." I cried

Suddenly feeling extremely overwhelmed with everything that had happened. One would have thought that the feeling of acceptance would have lasted but it didn't. It hurt to know that I had such a different life to this one and within a blink of an eye. It was all taken away.

She didn't want this life anymore. She didn't want to be part of the living that came with choices that were accompanied by such powerful consequences. She hated the fact that many of the living forcefully made decisions for others that did nothing to them. That no matter how much you begged them to stop or to not do something they still did it.

It hurt to know that this would be the place where her soul would be stuck wondering for eternity. It hurt that she would always have this kind of fear buried in her heart, mind, and her very soul. She felt as though she needed to end her life rather than continue breathing this very air.

"I know my love, I know." Her mother whispered to her. Aural's tears stained her mother's robe and there was no way around it. It was painful for air to take in air as she released the overwhelming emotion. The haze blinded her from everything and she didn't know how to stop it.

He could hear his wife matter words to his daughter in the room. He could hear the sound of the water being poured into the bath and he knew that his wife had convinced her to take a warm bath just to relax for a moment.

But he knew that nothing would make him relax.

The very thought of his daughter being hurt in such a manner had left his mouth bitter. It had left his mind filled with fearful possibilities but his very being buzzing with anger. He had known what the living was capable of… he had been tasked many times to take care of the memories of the living when it was time for some of them to enter Heaven.

He had tampered and made sure to remove their burdens. Their loss and. Their hatred. He had seen so many things that had made his very being curl with disgust. Wondered why He had let certain things happen to these souls. And now here he was…

Thankful that his own child had survived it. He had protected her for so long and hoped that he wouldn't need to be in such a place. He had known that things would happen if he fed her curiosity. Now he wondered what would it have been like if he had just told her about certain things that happened here on this earth.

Would it have helped her not be this curious and run to this place? would it have kept her back and made her move on from that phase of her life? Would everything right now just be avoided for the greater good?

The sound of the chair being pulled back pulled him from his very own thoughts. He turned to face his wife and child. Giving them a small smile, it hurt to know that it would be best for him to not touch her. Just to avoid her flinching. His own daughter couldn't trust a man, even a being that was there from the very first time her light was sparked.

"I know my words won't help, so I won't be able to offer it but I will say something. Something that I hope will spark some light in your heart. We spoke to Him and He has given us a way that may help you return home.

Away from the living and back to your life. Your very slate wiped clean as though it never existed." He said as he locked eyes with a tearful one. He could taste the spark of hope and he knew that a part of her was grateful for it.

"What do I have to do?" she asked, looking at him with curiosity. "You need to find the golden angel. We were able to find certain things that will help but we can't move far with you, as it is your slate that needs to be wiped and not ours." He said.

"What golden angel?" she asked, confusion settling in. "The one angel that could destroy or control both Heaven and Hell. Maybe even the living." I said.
