Song Recommended: Plastic 100c By Sampha
The sound of my breathing is loud and harsh. The leaves and bushes slapped at my skin as I raced through the forest, trying to get as far away as I could from the strangers. My feet were quick on the ground as I tried my best to step on parts that wouldn't leave a print.
Everything in me burned and slowly began to hurt. I could feel the ache and the pain build up as if telling me that it had been a long time since I had run away this fast. I didn't know when I would stop but from the way my body was reacting, I would need to stop soon so that my body could get some rest.
The adrenaline that cursed in me was the only thing keeping me moving but even that wouldn't last long. So when I felt my body give out, I prepared myself for the fall and took in a deep breath.
"Oof!" she let out when she fell and felt pain radiate on the left side of her body. She turned to see that her knee had hit the rock hard and now everything hurt more than anything. Who would have thought that this would have been her fate?
Constant running. Constant pain. Constant collisions with strangers and near-death experiences. It was all so draining and tiring to her. All she wanted was simplicity. Forgiveness but the plans weren't hers to make anymore.
She heard a ruffle coming from ahead of her and she quickly looked up. Trying to see what it was or if the strangers had finally caught up to her yet when everything went quiet she held her breath, hoping to not alert it or catch its attention. She didn't want another issue again.
When she was sure there was nothing, she let out the breath she was holding and pushed herself forward. Feeling as though her legs had given out because of how painful she had hit her knee on the damned rock.
Raising the top part of her body, she looked down to see that her left knee was bleeding through her clothing fabric. When she reached to touch it, her body protested and she had no choice but to pull back frantically.
Tears began to gather in her eyes as she felt like screaming out in frustration. Why couldn't anything work for her? Ha! Everything just wouldn't comply with her no matter how much she tried to rectify things.
At least, you aren't dead. So what else could go wrong?
And right then the sound coming from the bushes was heard again. This time whatever was in there made an alerting noise. She couldn't stay here any longer than she already had. She needed to get out of here quickly.
Frantically, she pushed herself up despite a part of her wanting to scream a soul out of her. She had gotten tired of it all and would not play this game anymore. As soon as she was able to stand, whilst balancing on the tree, she moved forward with a small cry being bit back.
But she couldn't get far because as soon as she got to the opposite side of the sound, she heard something crunch, as if a bone being eaten… Feeling fear completely enter her body she turned to find a creature that she never expected to see in her life.
"I could smell humans…but I know I have been alive for too long so my smell could be off but looking at you, something tells me you have been on the human earth long enough to have some scent rubbed off of you.
Tell me I am wrong, fallen angel." It slurred and stepped out of the night shadows. Its red-brown eyes were intriguing but full of malice. Who would have thought that I would ever see a creature like this in my life?
"W-w-what ar-re y-o-u?" she stuttered as she stepped away from it and she glided forward, seemingly excited. "One's nightmare, one's father and mother, one's desire and yet at the end. I am whatever I aspire to be." It chuckled.
