Walking under the full moon feeling the peaceful embrace of the woods, Tessa and Damien stood on both sides of Kreed, assisting him as they made their way over to their final destination to face off Alpha Maynard and whatever is left of his army, so they could end the war. "The effect isn't at all like that. What it does is, it makes you lose control, forcing your wolf out and making it take control. So it's like being forced to the backseat and watching as your wolf take the wheel, taking control of your body. You can't do anything but sit there and watch every action your wolf does without being able to do anything about it" Damien explained, trying to make them understand better the situation he was in.

"Oh, now I get. Everything you did was your wolf's doing while you were being forced down to watch without control. Your wolf was the one being controlled by Alpha Maynard" Tessa added, getting a better understanding of it.

"I guess that is why when she bit you, you didn't lose your powers temporarily. It just made your wolf lose it's grip and made you take back control of your body" Kreed chipped in.

"I guess so" Damien shrugged

"What about Kieran? There has to be a way to undo the poison. I can't lose him Damien" She said to him, fear visible in her eyes. She only just got him back, she couldn't bear to lose him again. She knew it would break her more than she was already. She can't lose her bestfriend and mate on the same night.

"I'm sorry Tessa....I don't know of a way"

"It's going to be alright Tessa" Kreed forced a smile at her.

Seeing his smile melted her heart. It was the same smile he had when she knew him as Kieran, the smile she fell in love with. She didn't want to see it disappear. "You don't know that. You heard him, there seem to be no cure" She explained in the brink of tears. "It seems like with everything that has happened so far, Alpha Maynard is winning. My bestfriend died by my hands, my only family and brother whom I just found and reunited with again, sacrificed himself to save me and I've lost him, and now I'm losing you too" She wiped the tear off her cheek.

"He really did plan this very well to make sure even if he lost, we will lose too" Damien pointed out. "Which brings me to my question. How are we three going to take him and his army down? He kept back quite a number with himself and also gave an order for anyone who was remaining and survive from their zones to regroup with him"

"We have a plan...a plan to regroup at his base. When we do meet up, we'll have a chance then" Kreed replied, before coughing, feeling his chest tightened.

"Silas is dead, I killed one of your guys too on my way to Tessa, you're poisoned and no longer in full strength. Who knows if the others are still alive?" Damien questioned, his arms around Kreed's shoulder.

"I guess we'll find out" Said Kreed. "We are almost there"

Tessa fell silent, thinking about everything and the outcome it would amount to. They had been walking for quite a while, making their way to Alpha Maynard's base. It was drizzling already and it wasn't washing away her fear and worries. She hadn't had the time to mourn Vee and Silas and now there was a possibility the only man she had ever truly loved and is her mate, would be added to that list as well.

She wished she could take it all back, go back in time and change their fate. Avoid the war and do everything in her power to make sure her bestfriend, brother and everyone stays alive. Unfortunately she can't and has to continue with her reality. "We are here" She heard Kreed's voice and was snapped out of her reverie.

She hadn't realized they had gotten to the base of Alpha Maynard. She was too lost in her head and the rain that was picking up was masking their scents. She looked up and saw Alpha Maynard standing in front of his army which was still unbelievably large. They would be no less than five hundred. The Alpha had a smug look, staring directly at them.

Damien removed his arms from around Kreed, letting him stand on his on. He saw the angry look on Kreed's face as he kept staring at the bodies of his comrades laid side by side and displayed on the ground for them to see. Adan, Zamir and Conan. Alpha Maynard had collected their bodies. "I am sorry about your dead comrades Kreed! But it doesn't matter, you'd be joining them soon. From the looks of it, it seems Damien succeeded with the poison" Alpha Maynard announced.

"You're going to pay for making me your puppet Maynard!" Damien called back.

"I see they've found a way to break you out of my grip. It doesn't matter anyway. You've lost already" He replied

"Hello Kreed, Damien....it's nice to see you both again" Alpha Bayron came out through the crowd with Derek following behind. He seemed to have healed up almost fully from his last fight.

"You traitor" Damien called after Alpha Bayron with anger in his eyes.

"You! I killed you" Kreed added.

"I'm sorry but you didn't. That was my clone" Alpha Bayron replied with a smirk.

"Give it up Tessa! You can't possibly win this. Accept the defeat and seperate yourself from them. Come back" Derek called out to her with hopeful and pleading eyes.

"Not after everything you all have done to me. They are my people and I'm prepared to die with them than go back to a place where I won't survive anyway" Tessa explained with a determined look. "I'm staying right beside my mate" She added

"Then you'll die with him. You three can't take us all on your, and even at that Kreed is poisoned and weakend. You can see your dead friends lying here. There's no one coming to join or save you" Alpha Maynard pointed out.

"Kreed smiled when he caught the familiar scent. "That's where you're wrong. We won't be taking you all alone" He announced just before Freya came up from behind them and stood beside them.

"Freya!" Tessa called with a surprised look. She looked behind them and saw an army of wolves coming out of the woods and standing behind them also. "What's going on?" She inquired with a puzzled look.

"You took your time Freya" Kreed stated.

"We had to deal with some obstacles on our way here. We are here now" She spoke up just before her eyes fell on her dead comrades. She said nothing but looked up at Alpha Maynard and the others.

Alpha Maynard and the other's smile faded when they saw the new development. Seeing the army that came from nowhere made them uneasy. They were probably same number as they were, if not more. 'Where the hell did they come from?' Alpha Maynard thought to himself.

"I bet you weren't expecting this!" Kreed stated, walking forward, ignoring his trembling fingers due to the poison. "You're not the only with a trick up your sleeve. Now the battle is even. We are ending the war right here, right now" He added

"So be it" Alpha Maynard sneered. He turned to his army and signalled for them to attack. He knew the outcome was uncertain but there was no other way.

Kreed looked up at the sky. The rain had began to pour down heavily. He shifted his gaze to Tessa who had come up to stand beside him. He took her hand in his, interlocking their fingers. They said nothing but kept staring into each other's eyes, sharing their feelings and emotions through their mate bond. Kreed felt his body was getting weaker with every passing minute, but that was no time to be weak. 'This is it. It all ends tonight' He thought to himself, nodding and smiling at Tessa.
