Chapter 1- Welcome to The Strongest Highschool

The Highschool of the strongest isn't easy to get into. First, you have to possess a shrines power. That's the bare minimum to even be able to apply in the first place. Second you have to have vary good grades. I'm talking straight A's all throughout middle school. Third, you must have the basic knowledge of how your specific shrine works, they won't except complete beginners. That's probably the hardest because there aren't vary many ways to practice with your shrine safely. If you check all of those boxes then you've got a shot but, even then they mite still reject you. It is only for the strongest after all. Still, no matter how difficult it is. This is the place I have to attend or else nothing in my life will matter.

Walking through the front gates surrounded by tall green trees and bright colorful flowers I could see it. It stood 3 stories tall and was made out of a sturdy concreate. Outside there were two buildings. One looked to be a gym. I could see through a single door that had been left open, there was a basketball court with some kids playing in it around my age.

If I had turned in my application on time I would probably be in their too. Looking a bit past that there was a much bigger structure, two times the size of the gym. That's were I would make my case for attending this school. I walked on a well kept brick path past the gym and the main entrance to the school. There were boys and girls looking at me all confused like. Guess they've never seen a new student show up randomly.

Ahead of me a tall man wearing a blue suit with a red tie walked up to me from the massive structure I was approaching. He had combed back hair and a handsome face. He wore a pare of glasses on his face making him look smart.

"Sho Sabar. I presume." He spoke in a low tone. His voice was deep and he rushed his words like he was in a hurry. He looked me up and down as if he were examining me. He crossed his arms waiting for my response.

" Yes, that's me."

" Okay. Right this way." He turned and led me into the massive structure. " Put your stuff in their and come out when your ready." He pointed to a small locker area and walked out a pair of massive double doors.

The locker room was massive easily enough for a couple hundred kids. I set my bags down and changed into something a bit more flexible. I already new since I turned my application in late they weren't going to have me do a regular test to get in. From what I've gathered in my 15 years living. They've never let a kid in past the first day. They were definitely gonna give me a hard task.

I changed into a pair of white jogging pants that stopped right above my feet and a white cut off muscle shirt giving me the most movability.

Walking through the massive doors I found a massive combat arena. All white tiles covered the floor and the ceiling was completely glass allowing the sunlight to poor in. The man who had met me wasn't in their but I noticed a glass box off to my left where I could see two figures standing.

" Okay listen." A voice poured into the room over some hidden speakers. It was the same voice of the man who had met me at the front of this building. " You are vary lucky. Even though your application was late. The principle has decided to give you a chance. . . He's the man standing next me here. You'll learn his name if you pass."

The man said to be the principle was a bit taller than the first guy I met. He had more of spikey hair and his tie seemed a bit loose, he kind of looked unprofessional.

" Sho Sabar. You will be the first person to take this entrance test. Probably the last as well." HIs tone still gave off the feeling that he was running short on time and that this was pointless. Had he already written me off. What kind of test was this going to be.

Suddenly. On the other side of the building the massive double doors opened up reveling a figure walking out from them. He was wearing an all black out fit with black sweat pants and a black shirt with a single Butten at the neck holding it together. As he got closer I saw more of him. He was relatively the same Hight as me, around 5'10 ish. He had orange hair. It was short but stuck up like spikes on the top of his head. He seemed relatively muscular but no more than me.

" That kid over there is in his second year at this school. . . You are going to have a sparring match with him." I see. So they want me to prove my worth in combat. Show off my strength against someone more experienced than me. I can do that. " You can use any of your shrine abilities out side of purification. That is if you've obtained it."

Looking across the room the orange haired kid had a proud smirk across his face. I'm assuming that he has obtained that ability. . . Any of my abilities huh. I should be fine then, I've worked hard so I have a pretty big bag of moves. Though, he has a year of experience so he probably does to.

" Me and the principle don't expect you two win so don't go all out and get yourself killed. . . All you need to do is show us how much of a hold you have on your shrine and some basic combat skill. The principle will decide if you pass." The other man in the box has yet to speak. I can't make out his face but I can see his crossed arms and from how he was standing it seemed like he wanted this to hurry up

I should probably stretch. Loosening up my shoulders and legs is a necessity or else I will defiantly loose. Looking across the room I could see the other kid jumping up and down, he was either also stretching or really excited.

" Alright, if your ready." He looked at each of us. I gave him a nod and the other kid gave him a thumbs up. " Then begin. Don't die."

We each slowly began to approach the center of the arena. Only a few steps away I could see the kid was looking at me as if I were small fry. Like I was no big deal. Which I guess he wouldn't be in the wrong to assume that. But assumptions can get people killed.

" You nervous " His voice was rough and raspy. His K-nines were sharp and pointed like a daggers.

" Not really." I wasn't. I'm pretty confident I can actually win this.

" You should be."

" So should you."

" Ha." We reached the center only a couple feet away from each other. He brought his hands together and cracked his knuckles. " How bout some classic hand to hand for starters." He brought his hands out in front of his body positioned in some sort of style I didn't recognize. A glow surrounded his hand. He's diverting his shrines power throughout his entire body. I shall do the same.

He made the first move extending his palm out for my chest. I smacked it away and went for a follow up punch. He blocked and threw his own witch I dodged, stepping to the side I tried to land a strike on his ribs but he tucked his arm a blocked that too. He was good, but I expected him to be.

We went back and forth in precise hand to hand. He had a smile on his face at first but I think he was surprised by me keeping up because it was gone now. He threw another palm strike but he mad a mistake. I lured him into lunging to far opening up his stomach for a hit. I'll use his own style on him. Instead of a fist I'll hit him with my palm. "THWACK"

My strike landed hitting him hard sending him sliding back to his side of the arena. His face was speechless, he was getting beat by a kid who doesn't even go to this school yet. He defiantly wasn't happy, his face turned from shock to rage in an instant.

" What's next."

" DAM YOU!"

He extended his hand and I watched as his shrines power gathered in his hand forming his Kakugan. It was a massive scythe that at first looked like a battle axe until it's blade flipped out. Man his was cool, mines nothing like that. Still I should probably bring it out or else I'll die.

Gathering my shrines power in my right hand I built my own Kakugan. It was just a simple sword with a cross guard. No where near as cool as his scythe, but I bet I can still beat him with this.

" Principle Takon. You see it."

"Yea his Kakugan."

"Kind of simple. Isn't it."

"Jack, your my assistant. You should already no how a Kakugan works."

Takon and Jack were watching the battle unfold. Examining Sho's Kakugan. A weapon all people with the power of a shrine have.

" Sure size matters and the type of blade matters, but every kagukan is made to fit that person perfectly. Lets just see how he handles."

The kid swung his Kakugan wildly but put a lot of strength behind it, I had to make sure to use that to my advantage and not allow his full blade to land cleanly on my own. If it did it would send me flying and possibly break my weapon.

I watched as he put his strength into every swing. His attacks were predictable but he left little openings. He had speed to even with a big weapon. I need to create and opening, every kakugan has a point were it can break easily. If it breaks it has a time limit until it repairs itself. It's obvious where this one's is.

A couple more strikes chipped at my kakugan, I made sure to keep some distance and wait for an opening. . . There. right under the blade. Raising his Scythe above his head allowed me to get a clear shot. Taking a step in it's range where if it would land it would kill me, but I knew it wouldn't land. Placing my blade right on the part where his blade connects to the rest of his weapon.

Did you know when a Kakugan breaks it sounds like glass. I just found out my self. He couldn't believe it, the whole time I could tell he thought he had the advantage. How wrong he was, for a second year I thought he would do more.

He jumped back I think because he noticed I still had my weapon in my hand and he didn't. Well since he doesn't I should put mine away. Releasing my power gathered in my hand my weapon dispersed slowly. Looking at him, he was not happy, he brought his hand up to his mouth covering it. His eyes seemed to drift to the ground to the point were I couldn't see them.

I looked up to the box to see if I could get a read on my graders but they were still in the same spots. Would they stop this if I completely beat this guy? He probably still has some moves in his arsenal so I'll see what he's got.

" What's next." He stayed silent and his head slightly raised, his pupils were shrunk and his face was full of anger. He was planning something big.

" . . . Shrine purify. The power of my flame."

" Ha. Going for the ultimate already! Wait that's banned."

So. He's going to try and kill me. I get that he's probably embarrassed to be beat by someone with less experience than him but jeez. This is a bit far.

" Sir. Ko is using his shrine purification! He's going to kill him." The principle and his assistant watched from the observation box.

" I see that."

" Wait. . . Are you going to let it happen." Just then a massive orange light reached their box. Looking at the arena it had burst into flames with the only clear spot being were Ko was standing. " Shit. I'm going down there." Jack stood up walking past Takon reaching for the door.

" Wait." Before he could open the door Takon reached out and grabbed him.

" We can't wait!."

" Just look." Looking down at the floor where Sho had been standing. There was a figure standing in the fire. Suddenly like a blast of wind was projected in that spot the fire parted in a circle revealing Sho intact.

" Holy shit."

" Ha. He has learned how to purify his shrine. At his age. Ko was seen as a legend for learning his in the end of his first year. Most don't learn it till their middle second year. He has it and he hasn't even attended here yet."

" Sir. What's happening." The fire on the floor was slowly being parted right down the middle cutting right through to Ko.

" Oh. Well we can't exactly see. Because shrines are only visible to the person their targeting but we can see the affects of them. When two shrines are formed facing each other they enter a tug of war for strength, right now Sho's won it."

The fire had split completely and was now dying out. It looked normal again. Except for Ko. He had this look of being absolutely terrified, petrified. He had his hands on his head and he was curled up in a ball on his knees screaming.

" What hellish shrine do you posses. Sho Sabar."

" AHHH! MAKE IT STOP! STOP IT STOP IT!! YOU WIN!"

" Ok. That's all I needed." His screams were hurting my ears, if he had kept going I would have dropped my shrine anyway. . . It feels good. Knowing that you have a shrine that can make even the strongest willed people terrified and cry out in fear.

Looking up at the box. I saw as the taller man who I presumed was the principle walk out leaving the man I had met earlier.

". . . Your excepted."

" But I broke the rules."

" It was only in retaliation to Ko. So your fine. Ill speak to Ko about it later."

I doubt he'll want to talk about it. They never do after I drop my shrine.

" Welcome. To the Highschool of the Strongest. We look forward to having you"
