**FLASHBACK**
[IN THE FISHERS PACK]
Luna Audra shook herself on the bed as she mumbled the same thing as she had for the past few minutes. Alpha Fisher was torn between calming his mate and asking Marina if it was 'an accident.'
On the other hand, Marina seemed unbothered by her mother's cries and father's stare. She was still leaning on the door.
Her eyes laid on Chandy's body in the bed. She thought, "mommy, I am hungry." At the same time, her stomach grumbled.
Alpha Fisher and his mate stared at their daughter, wondering how their daughter was hungry in the current situation. Finally, he decided to be at his mate's side, he walked to her and took her hand in his. He motioned for Marina to come near them.
Marina stared at the lock and then strode towards her parents.
"Sweet pie, tell us again, what happened?" Alpha Fisher asked.
A frustrated sigh escaped her lips, she repeated what happened not even leaving out the part where she had a knife under her pillowcase.
Luna Audra gasped at that part; her mate pulled her closer to him. Who were they nurturing, a murderer? That was what Luna Audra wanted to tell her mate, instead, she repeated the same words, "our daughter is not a murderer."
Alpha Fisher wouldn't believe it. He was conflicted between believing his daughter and trusting his gut telling him that perhaps someone made his daughter do it or even do it and then told his daughter to take the blame.
He heard murmurs from outside. Alpha Fisher untangled himself and grabbed Luna Audra by her arms, "clean Marina."
Luna Audra's gaze was at Marina.
Marina stretched her hand slowly and touched her mother's cheek, she even ignored it when her mother cringed. "Mommy, it was an accident."
"My Luna, please." Alpha Fisher said and offered him a tight-lipped smile.
Luna Audra sucked in some air and wiped a tear with her left hand, "okay."
Marina took a step back. Her mother stared at Chandy, a gasp left her throat, she almost jumped when Marina linked her hand to hers. Marina pulled. Alpha Fisher pushed Luna Audra towards the bathroom. He sighed when they were finally inside Marina's bathroom.
He locked them inside and walked back to the chamber. He pulled the blanket over Chandy's body and began pacing.
Their daughter brutally killed a pack member. Alpha Fisher knew if anyone in the pack knew what she has done, they would make her pay. Be it the alpha's daughter or any wolf of any rank, they must pay for their evil deeds.
No one ever trained him what to do in case of a murder inside his pack.
It surprised him when he mind-linked Beta Shark to come inside Marina's chamber. He didn't have to mention to him that he had to come alone, Beta Shark could hear in his voice that something was not okay.
One knock and Alpha Fisher rushed to the door, he unlocked it and opened it just slightly. Beta Shark squeezed himself in.
His eyes laid on the bed, his eyes went wide, and his heart thudded hard inside his chest, "Marina. No. No." He mumbled, taking longer steps toward the bed.
Alpha Fisher grabbed his arm and told him, "it is not Marina, it is Chandy. It was an accident." He went ahead and explained what happened.
Beta Shark and Alpha Fisher have been best friends since childhood, they trusted each other with their lives, and that was why Beta Shark didn't question him or say, "Marina must pay for it." Instead, Beta Shark said, "whatever you ask, I will do it."
Alpha Fisher closed his eyes for a moment, and an idea came through his mind, he would cuss himself later for doing that, but at the moment, he needed to protect his daughter, no matter what.
[Sister, come to Marina's chamber. Now.] He said to his sister.
Like Beta Shark, Doctor Bedelia came rushing as soon as the message came through. The only difference was that someone was behind him.
High Priestess Mannequin felt evil energy radiating from Marina's chamber. She searched for the alpha to inform him, and on her way to find him, she saw Doctor Bedelia walking toward Marina's chamber.
She followed her slowly, and when she saw Doctor Bedelia knocking on the door, she seemed alert. High Priestess watched her and when she saw Alpha Fisher's head only and then Doctor Bedelia entering as though she was some kind of a thief, she knew something was up.
Hurriedly, she headed to Marina's chambers and knocked on the door too. Alpha Fisher opened the door smiling, and even though he was smiling, the smile didn't reach his eyes. He said to her, "Manne, is there anything that I can…"
High Priestess Mannequin cut him off by two words, "I know."
Stupidly, Alpha Fisher didn't ask her what she meant, he opened the door for her and locked it behind her.
High Priestess looked at the body on the bed and then at the people in the room, there was no need to ask who it was, one thing for sure it was not Marina.
Her mind was in turmoil as she listened to them plotting what to do. She refrained herself not to jump onto Alpha Fisher and told him he was evil like his ancestors who had sent her to purgatory.
They came up with a plan, the perfect plan.
Doctor Bedelia was to rule out that the cause of death was natural.
"The wound?" Beta Shark asked.
"It is not like we can say Chandy ran, and fell on a knife and died." High Priestess Mannequin said and cussed herself after the words left her mouth. Alpha Fisher knew the powers she possessed so he asked her to cover them up.
Alpha Fisher tasked Beta Shark to call Chandy's parents and break the bad news to them.
It was a piece of heartbreaking news and to make it worse they were lying about how it happened. But there was nothing Beta Shark would do, he couldn't let his best friend's daughter get punished, she was young and it was 'an accident.'
"I will do that." Agreed Beta Shark.
Done!
First murder!
First cover-up!
