Activating the Romantic System

Lucienna thought, 'Maybe it's time for me to carry a bigger responsibility. There's a universe out there... waiting for me to venture. I can't disappoint my family by staying ordinary!'

Her yearning for answers compelled her to seek out Lemolemo, hoping that the system's tasks would bring clarity and purpose to her inexplicably entangled life.

[Milady, when you fall asleep. I will bring your soul to enter someone else's unconscious body. You will take over that person's life. While fitting your soul into a foreign body, I will narrate the person's fated destiny story. You can evaluate what to do next while comprehending the events.]

"Will it matter if they are doing something before becoming unconscious?"

[No, Milady.]

"Will you accompany me through the mission?"

[Yes, Milady. Unless something unfortunate happens.]

"For example?"

[Having system upgrades.]

"Am I allowed to enter the space now?"

[Yes, Milady. You can enter whenever you want. Just put your point finger on the birthmark beside your left eye.]

Lucienna went into the women's comfort room and flashed inside the space. There was a concrete house, but it was empty. And the walls were painted white. 

"It feels like I've entered a mental hospital. Are you sure I'm not crazy yet? There's nothing in here, not even a single piece of furniture. I need to stockpile before we go on entering other people's bodies!"

[Milady, the system can provide you with food and...]

"No, I only trust it if I see things personally. Think about it. What if I enter a beggar's body or a sick person stuck in the hospital for treatment? Will you expect me to go hungry? And what about clothes, what if the weather isn't similar to the Capital city..."

[Milady, won't you go out and see the environment?]

"No need. It's enough for me to guess that I need to purchase seeds and seedlings to plant. Farming and harvesting tools. And other equipment to complete the space."

Lucienna flashed outside of the space and went to the grocery store. Things she couldn't find were listed on her phone. "I need to visit the market tomorrow. For now, I just need to go on with necessary things I could buy in the mall."

[Milady, don't you think you bought too much?]

"No, I actually think the things I bought were too little."

[But you almost emptied the mall.]

"It's better to be prepared. What is wealth if I can't live comfortably? Being a superhero does not mean treating yourself badly."

Lemolemo could not protest against his master's wishes. The spirit guardian thought that his master might have spent all of her wealth in one snap.

When Lucienna arrived home, she went to her grandfather's armory. She picked ropes, guns, knives, swords, bows and arrows, and even whips. She also picked a laser gun. 'I should tell Grandpa that I ransacked his armory to avoid getting him mad.'

She dialed her grandfather's phone.

"What is it, dear?" The old man at the other end was still laughing with his friends as they played chess.

"Hey, Grandpa, I took one-fourth of your weapons in the armory."

"Oh, are you finally tired of going to school that you wanted to sell some weapons somewhere?" The answer of the old man made Lucienna laugh.

"No, I want them to fill my newest weapon-themed collection. Grandpa, do you know where I can buy trucks or armored cars?"

"Why buy when we have them in the garage?"

"But I want them in my collection!"

"Just pick some from the garage." Her grandfather advised.

"Grandpa, you're still the best!"

"But dear, don't do something illegal!"

"I won't, Grandpa!" Lucienna hung up and went next to her father's most extensive collection of medical books and ancient medicine scrolls from different parts of the world. 

She dialed her dad's number this time.

"Do you need something, Cien?"

"Dad, could you lend me some medical books?"

"You've run out of things to learn again?"

"Yes, Dad, and I'll also borrow your needles!"

"Go pick from the bottom of the cabinet behind the wall."

"Dad, you're the best!" Lucienna opened her father's secret room and carefully transported the things she needed.

[Milady, are you really serious about this?]

"Why? Do you think my preparations aren't enough?"

[No, Milady. Your preparations are exaggerated, and it feels as if we're not going to save people but kill people or, worse, rob a bank! These things are expensive and very rare!]

"Of course! Only the best from my grandfather and father's collections!"

[Milady, how about getting or borrowing things from your brothers?]

"Maybe soon. But never from my mother. My mother hates her things being touched by the kids."

Lucienna arrived in the garage last. 

[Milady, these are some cool cars!]

"Yeah. The men in the family love collecting cars, especially armored ones and fast models. My youngest uncle owns a car company, and the government contracts his most expensive works. While my eldest aunt designs the most durable and energy-saving cars."

[It must be good to be part of a Practitioner's family, Milady.]

"You don't know what you're talking about, Lemolemo. The family walks in a thin line between living and death. Power, money, and crime are things you can only see on the surface. But there's more to it."

[Milady, is it dangerous?]

"Dangerous? I've lived long enough to know that danger is a common thing that people fear." Lucienna sighed.

The next morning, she went to collect the remaining things needed inside the space. Amidst the radiant beauty of her space, Lucienna collected various items she would need for her mission.

Luxurious garments, enchanted relics, and a surplus of nourishing provisions are all meticulously arranged with Lemolemo's assistance. 

As she considered the extensive stock of food, Lemolemo's voice chimed in, expressing a hint of concern. [Milady, can you really finish all this food?]

Lucienna grinned, her spirits lifting as she took in the abundance around her. "Indeed, I can. I've always had a hearty appetite, and with my body still developing, it only makes sense. Besides, thanks to this space, everything stored within it remains fresh and unspoiled."

The air seemed to shimmer with latent energy, as if the atmosphere was alive and brimming with secrets waiting to be uncovered.

Lucienna stretched her arms and legs. "I need a little sleep, and let's go!"
