Her parents, Eugenia and Yakov were divorced when she was four years old and her father was imprisoned not too long after. She grew up not having the life she'd have considered perfect for her. Imelda is an author who also waits tables at VIP events.
After fate plays out while the book unfolds, these two become a couple, defeating villains and mini-villains along the way too.
In the end, they clinch the happily ever after life they so much fought for. The story reaffirms the reader's hope in the existence of love that's capable of defeating trauma and surmounting challenges.
