"He's my guardian?" Roselyn asked as she eyed the gorgeous dark elf who was busy tending to the potted plants that were organized beautifully on the balcony.
He had short raven hair and beautiful emerald green eyes. His muscular body made her pay extra attention to his well-built psychic. His velvet black shirt with two top buttons left open did little to hide his attention-seeking chest from her eyes.
He was exactly as tall as River - standing at six feet over her five feet five inches of height. But what really caught her attention was the presence of the tattoo that was covering his entire back and she could only see a peek of it because of his see-through shirt.
Considering there was a dark spell working on her light magic to keep them in control, her enhanced eyesight and hearing were also dimmed to the level of a mortal.
"Yeah. He's Xander, your guardian, and mentor during your stay here at the Shadow Academy." River responded to her question as he set two mugs of hot coffee on the kitchen counter. "Can you stop looking at him with such hungry eyes?"
She scoffed as she turned her attention back to the Prince. "Don't worry. None of you are my type."
Lie!
If not for the fact that all of these men were from the Shadow Realm, they all seemed to be exactly her type, whether it was the man sitting in front of her, or the one watering the plants on the balcony. Even the Vampire who attacked her and the Crown Prince seemed to call on her powers in a way that only one's other half/halves could.
A smile broke out on River's lips as if he had heard her thoughts. "I'm not stupid, Princess. Do you think I can't recognize the attraction in your eyes when you look at us? Or, do you think I can't sense the need that runs through your veins every time you are close with any of us? I even sensed it when you were with my brother."
Roselyn felt like opening a hole in the floor and burying herself in it. Knowing just how attracted she was to these men from the dark world was already bad enough but the fact that even they could see it this clearly was way worse than anyone could imagine.
But since she couldn't open a hole in the floor and bury herself in it, she decided to go for another option that was pretty dangerous, to begin with, but still way better than staying silent and accepting his allegations even though they were true.
Standing up from her seat, she closed the distance between herself and the Prince and moved to stand right in front of him. His ice blue eyes observed her every moment as if he was waiting for her to try any stunt. She put on a huge smile on her like as she brought her mouth next to his ear, invading the bubble of his personal space just like he did the previous night.
"And I'm not blind either, Your Highness. Though you want to break our bond, I know the feelings of attraction and need are very mutual between us."
She was ready to pull away because his stiff body gave her the satisfaction she was looking for. However, she didn't get the chance as a solid arm around her waist pulled her into the embrace of the man.
"Don't tempt me, Princess." His voice was sharp and deep but instead of fear, it sent a different kind of energy running down her body.
Roselyn pushed him away and took several steps back to put as much distance between the two of them as possible. She feared the way her body reacted towards him or the others. All of these things were so wrong.
"Are you both done?" The warm voice that belonged to her gorgeous mentor and guardian, pulled both their attention to Xander who was now standing on the other side of the kitchen counter as he prepared a cup of cold coffee for himself.
She wasn't even sure when he got there. Either she was too observed with her escapade with River or he just used teleportation to move to the kitchen from the balcony.
"I'm too tired of looking after her. I'll leave her in your care as I have other important things to take care of other than a light princess." River sure looked irritated as he gave her a cold look before standing up and leaving the dorm without a single glance back.
Roselyn just let out a sigh of relief after he was gone. She was finally able to relax as all the tension left the air as soon as he was out.
"I'll take you shopping after our breakfast and then I'll give you a tour of the Academy in the evening," Xander informed her as he took the empty seat where River was sitting a couple of moments ago.
Shopping. That sounded great to her ears. She would definitely love a change of clothes but considering her situation, she would be shopping for more than just a change of clothes.
"You will have four days of classes and then one day for club activities, followed by two days off. I just got the list of your lectures from the administration. You will be taking - Dark Arts courses, Physical training, Herbology, and Realms Political courses." He continued as he handed her a bag that contained her timetable, student id, a rule book, and a library pass.
"Dark Arts courses?" Roselyn questioned.
"First, this is the Shadow Realm, and Second, everyone fears that you will develop the ability to control shadow powers after that bite. Dark Arts courses are the exact lessons you will need to survive here." The Dark Elf responded as he finally looked up from his coffee and stared directly into her eyes.
Roselyn was aware of the energy that sizzled between the two of them but she was more worried about her future which was looking way darker and more unpredictable than ever.
