Academy of Heroes and Villains

My world is divided into two sides- light and dark, good and bad, and heroes and villains. But sadly, I don't belong to either of those sides. I am a Normal. Not by fate but by choice. I don't work for a hero or a villain. I am someone who doesn't use any superpowers. I am someone who is looked down upon in my academy. The academy- a place where everyone dreams to become great. But I just want to live unnoticed. It all started when I received a letter- sent by me from the future. Vachi is a Normal, studying in the Academy of Heroes and Villains. She isn't studying how to save the world or how to destroy it. She is learning how to troubleshoot problems when the so-called heroes and villains make trouble. It sounds good, right? But she isn't really a Normal more like an undercover one. She has a superpower she intends on hiding till she dies. But will she be able to study in the academy hiding her powers and also saving the world? Who wants to expose her secret? And is the academy really saving them from the chaos that will be unleashed later?

Expect not to expect

Vachi found that the first day of her college was not going well. She wasn't the only one who was suffering. All the Normals were targets in this. The first thing was that the Student Guide was nowhere in sight and she was late to the first class. It wasn't like she couldn't find the way. The problem was that there were traps everywhere. She was sprinkled with water, slipped on the floor, fell into the food area of the campus animals, and broke the water fountain. She essentially started her college with a huge debt because she had to pay to repair the fountain.

You are required to pay 100000 points to repair the No.3 Fountain

Seeing this notification on the Connectain, Vachi was fuming. Was this fountain made of gold? She needed only 1 point to eat lunch in the cafeteria. Where was she going and what did she end up with? She would have to save cities if she wanted to clear the debt which wouldn't happen because she was not a superhero now. All she knew was that Normals weren't allowed to go on missions.

Normals were behind-the-scenes guys so she wouldn't be in on any action. How will she get out of this? She contemplated while running to her class when she collided with another Normal who was running towards her from another direction.

"Sorry, I have to get to the class."

Vachi was not at all fazed. She knew the other girl because Vachi had learned everything about the Normals in her class. She needed to know if she could trust them to get on her team.

The girl had long wavy white hair. She looked like a doll or a princess out of a movie. She should have gone into acting instead of getting pranked here by the crazy students here.

"I know the way. Come with me."

The girl looked at Vachi with wide eyes which Vachi interpreted as doubt. It was understandable because she should have been scammed pretty much by now.

"I am a Normal, like you."

Vachi showed her identity info card to her and the girl believed her. Then Vachi took her to the administrative building which was honestly like an office. No one gave them looks and Vachi was surprised that the girl believed her without any questions.

Vachi spotted the Cleaning Department and entered the room without knocking.

"Sir, our classroom was blown by some minions. You were called by the lecturer."

Vachi shouted in an urgent voice.

There was only one person sleeping in the entire room. The room was mostly empty and there was minimal furniture. The guy was sleeping on the two chairs like a bed. He woke up grumbling but that didn't stop him from walking out.

"Will they stop messing with the college property? Anyway, they will pay for it."

Vachi and the girl followed the man. He took them to the class which was really in chaos.

The new girl pulled on Vachi's sleeves.

"You know the location of our classroom?" The girl asked.

"No," Vachi shook her head.

"Then how did you know that the classroom was in," She looked at the mess," This condition?"

Vachi was amused.

"I didn't know."

"Then how?"

"Well, I just assumed. You see no one knows our classroom. It should be some kind of test. So, I thought the caretaker would definitely know, and based on the pranks being pulled on us, the classroom would also be on the brunt of the prank."

It was simple. So simple that she didn't have to use her power. Vachi had decided not to use her powers on the college campus. Who knew what kind of old monster was staying hidden here? What if someone discovered her then? She didn't want to take this risk.

"Wow, you are so cool."

Vachi was also taken aback.

Because it was uttered by two voices. When she turned to look at them, they were looking at her the same way her doll girl was looking at her.

"Haha. It's okay."

She blushed. Vachi wasn't used to these kinds of looks. Mostly she and Avni were outcasts and no one cared about them in her school days. They had no other friends. Maybe that was bound to change here.

"Everyone, we are here to commemorate this day as the day we Normals are destined to become the top tier in this college. I present to you, our group leader, who is smart and beautiful and who found the classroom first, Miss Vachi."

Well, there was thunderous applause.

The speaker was one of the twins who Vachi met. He was called Mridul and his brother was Mrinal.

They both had jet-black hair and were the tallest in their class. But it looked like Mrinal was the quiet one and Mridul was the mischievous one because he had re-trapped the places again so the pranks would backfire.

Sugandh was the one who looked like a scholar. He was taller than most of them and had a calm temperament.

"I say only one thing. We will change the status of Normals not only in this college but also in this world. We are also important and no one can tell us what we are. Normals will rule the world!"

"Yeah," they yelled.

"Let's sign this oath and determine our positions. Everyone will tell what they are good at and what they want to do."

"Hello. I'm Mridul. I can work on tech aspects. I can help you hack Connectian if you want."

There were wows all around. Connectian was the internet that was the most secure now. And the people who could hack it were all working for the government. Mridul had a good future ahead of him.

"I'm Mrinal. I can write."

Seeing his shy appearance, Mridul answered.

"His writings are soulful. He made us all voluntarily work for the school by making us listen to his song."

That was a good talent. Vachi needed that. Sometimes making an enemy lose is as easy as affecting their morale.

"I'm Sugandh. I can make perfumes for any purpose. Like anything you want."

Wait. Why did it seem like she was recruiting an army of villains?

"I'm Surasa. I don't know anything. But I can cook."

The doll girl answered.

"I'm Dyuti. I can design clothes."

A shorter girl with long hair whispered.

"Then there were triplets. Surprising, yes.

"I'm Abhay, the oldest. I can only cheat people." He told in a high-sounding manner.

"He can cheat us, not others. I'm Arohi. I'm the smartest of the group. I can remember things in a glance."

Super memory. This was something both superheroes and supervillains needed.

"I'm the youngest. I am Anuj. I can copy anything."

These powers were needed to cause chaos. How their parents handled them, Vachi had no idea.

"Hi guys, I'm Kal. I don't know my good qualities but maybe you can help me find it."

The boys surrounded him and patted his back.

"You are already doing great as you can literally lie down here," Anuj exclaimed.

"Yes, I am good at sleeping and being lazy."

"Bro, we are brothers then. I'm also good at what you do. Let's discuss ideas someday."

Abhay went to hug him.

Arohi rolled her eyes at their antics. But she didn't say anything else.

"Hello. I'm Chitra. My family is rich. They own major shares in Connectian. That rich."

Well, that was a power even Vachi loved.

But seeing all this, she realized something. Even Normals had powers but they were more or less neglected because their powers were not physically manifested like superheroes and supervillains. And the way they were chosen, that was wrong.

Because the test checks the mental realm. Why? Why was it necessary? Does the mental realm help if people become superheroes or villains? Because from what she understood, a Normal person could become a hero or villain on their own. They just needed courage or hatred.

Then what was going on? Was this the reason her future self warned her not to reveal her power? If it was true, then the whole system was wrong. Were they plotting something bad?

Was her world, right?

These thoughts made her shiver. Good thing she was standing at the back so no one noticed. This group didn't need their leader to be a scaredy cat.

"I'm going to tell you something. I think changing an established system is hard. So, you have to be ready to be fighting opposite big enemies or even loved ones. If you can't do it, step back. Once we move forward, we have to keep moving forward. Because many people's lives will depend on it. Think carefully and tell me after two days."

Vachi told them finally. She didn't want them to step in and fight battles that they weren't involved in, yet. She was already in and she didn't want them to jump in thinking it was a college club but the reality was gruesome.

She didn't require her superpower to know that this would be bad. She could foresee this without using her power.

But maybe as a fluke, she still decided to use her power.

"Will we be in trouble even if we want to help the world?"

Yes, she answered.

Vachi felt the energy drained from her.

It is a big shocking event when you finally get proof that the world you live in is probably using you as a human slave.

That meant she was going to fight. Not on the bright side. She was going to just make everyone aware. Some fights don't need to shed blood. They just need the enemy to back off. Vachi hoped that this will be her truth.
