"If my own stats didn't look so monstrous I would think that you were some kind of monster," Lily said with a blush and then looked down at her hands. "Just what have we become? And if I am this strong, then what will happen when you get her blessing?"
I shrugged, trying to ease the tension in the air. "Guess we're on our way to becoming legends or something. As for Shigora's blessing, who knows? But it's not about the stats, it's about how we use what we've got. And right now, we need all the strength we can get to face Akasha and whatever else comes our way."
With that, I turned my attention back to the Heart of Velum. The pulsating energy seemed to call out to me, and I took a deep breath, steeling myself for whatever lay ahead. As I extended my hand toward the radiant orb, a surge of power enveloped me, and a flood of information filled my mind.
"Oh, no you don't!" A male voice scolded and I felt my body start to be pulled apart.
