The Priest was a long-range job and mainly filled the support role in a team. Thus, the job itself wasn't well suited for close-quarter combat. At the end of the day however, Fearless was still a genuine expert, and after mingling with Wang Yu for so long, he managed to pick up some skills from him here and there.

In terms of strength, Priests were definitely inferior to Assassins like Southern Heaven Mighty God. Even though Fearless managed to block the damage from that strike, he retreated a few steps backwards from the impact of the collision.
