Jalin’s Compromise (Part 1)

The soul beast flew increasingly high, circling at a height over 2,000 miles above the Tribunal army.

Jalin thought about Saleen's threat and said, "I'd have just run away if I knew this would happen."

"Arbola had you stuck with me. Would you really run away?" Saleen retorted. 

He wanted to kill Jalin badly, but he would have had nothing to gain from killing her. Furthermore, Saleen wanted to know what was in the cemetery, but he had no intention of going inside to look around himself. Jalin was the only one who had entered, and her information was very valuable.

Jalin was rendered speechless by Saleen's retort. Her teacher stuck her to Saleen's side, so she definitely had a purpose to serve. While her teacher was rather lenient with what she did with him, it would have been problematic if she were to run away and Saleen chased after her. It would have been very awkward.
