The morning after (1)

Selene stirred around as her body slowly woke to a new day. Her eyes fluttered open, adjusting to the darkness in the room. She immediately froze because of the sight before her. 

What she noticed wasn't that someone had pulled the blinds so there wouldn't be light let in to bother her. What caught her attention was how close she laid to the man she now had to call her husband.

Selene tried not to panic. If she did then she might wake him and his teasing might be the death of her. Instead of pulling away from him too fast, Selene slowly tried to go back to how they were before when she went to bed with at least an arm's length of space between them.

What confused Selene even more was her arms hugging Xavier. She couldn't have been the one who inched closer to him during the night. She wasn't one to move around in her sleep too much to the point of ending up in his arms. 

'If only I could just disappear,' Selene thought.
