Chapter 80: The Deal Is Struck

The first test of the Hurricane-class warship was for interstellar travel, as the greatest challenges for a ship often surface at maximum speed. Feng Mo and Alisa watched the data on the holographic display with bated breath as the Hurricane's velocity increased from one hundred to three hundred and ninety star knots. Feng Mo's anxiety began to ease.

The dark energy crystal engines proved their worth, delivering extraordinary performance. For a quasi-T5 warship to reach three hundred and ninety star knots was already impressive, especially considering that Feng Mo had doubled the size of the Hurricane-class hull.

This expansion had been the cause of a heated argument with Alisa, lasting an entire week. Alisa had even wilder ambitions, wanting to turn the Hurricane into a veritable space fortress, more than doubling its size. Feng Mo thought she was out of her mind. Eventually, he had to shut down her ideas firmly, and they settled on a more conservative enlargement. Now, the finalized specs of the modified Hurricane-class were as follows:

Quasi-T5 Hurricane-class Star Battleship:

Armor Strength: 1000 units

Hull Dimensions: 4km x 1km x 837m

Speed: 390 star knots

Warp Engine: Level 4

Shield Energy: Level 4, upgraded, 100%

Weapons: T4 Antimatter Energy Cannons x3, T4 Ion Laser Cannons x3, T4 Turbolaser Secondary Cannons x8, T4 Electromagnetic Railgun Secondary Cannons x8, T4 Close-Defense Laser Cannons x150

With six main cannons of two types and sixteen secondary cannons, the upgraded Hurricane-class warship was essentially a mobile fortress. The T4 Antimatter Energy Cannons were the most powerful, but their cooldown was long—five minutes. The T4 Ion Laser Cannons were weaker but had a shorter cooldown of three minutes. Each weapon had its advantages, and it was up to the commander to use them wisely.

Meanwhile, in the distant Demon Star System, Bai Muchen's fleet had just arrived and was quickly intercepted by a demon patrol fleet. After a series of inquiries, they were escorted to the Demon Star System's capital planet.

The capital was a Level 3 habitable world, comparable to the Celestial Cloud main planet, home to billions of demons. Some had bestial forms, massive and ferocious, while others were more humanoid, petite and cunning.

Upon reaching the Demon King's Court, Bai Muchen and his entourage were stopped by demon guards. "Our lord has decreed that the eldest son of the Bai family must enter the court alone," a guard announced. "Your entourage must wait outside."

Bai Muchen's men wanted to object, but he waved them off and followed the guards into the court alone. He was led through grand corridors into a vast hall. As he entered, a tremendous pressure bore down on him, reminiscent of the aura of a powerful elder from the Qiao family.

Despite the overwhelming force, Bai Muchen remained composed, his gaze unwavering, exuding the aura of a warrior ready to face death itself. His steps were confident, each stride as resolute as a dragon or a tiger, radiating an unshakeable spirit.

"Well done!" boomed the Demon Lord, impressed. "You truly live up to the reputation of the Bai family's prodigious fleet commander. To enter my hall alone shows true bravery."

The Demon Lord's voice was thunderous, echoing like clashing steel. Bai Muchen raised his eyes slightly to see a red-haired man in black combat armor seated on the throne. Two bull-like horns sprouted from his head, and an orange flame mark burned at the center of his brow—a sign of immense mental power, on the cusp of materializing fully, marking him as a Level 5 gene warrior.

"Bai Muchen of the Snowhawk Bai family greets the Demon Lord. I come to request your intervention on behalf of my family. In exchange, the Bai family is willing to offer two sets of T4 warship blueprints," Bai Muchen said, getting straight to the point. He didn't call him Demon King, but Demon Lord, emphasizing equality and mutual respect.

"Oh? And who is your target?" the Demon Lord inquired with mild curiosity.

"The target is the entire Storm Star System," Bai Muchen replied loudly, his voice filled with deep-seated hatred. "I'm sure you are not unfamiliar with it."

"Who? The Storm Star System under Count Feng Mo?" The Demon Lord's voice rose, feigning surprise. "You do realize that Feng Mo's Storm Star System is an essential partner to the Demon Star System and a valued guest of ours!"

Bai Muchen couldn't help but smirk. The Demon Lord had never even met Feng Mo, and yet he was already claiming him as a vital partner. How absurd. "In addition to the two T4 blueprints, the Bai family is prepared to offer a quasi-T5 design for a modified Lynx-class destroyer. Would this be enough to persuade you?" Bai Muchen proposed confidently. No one could resist such a tempting offer, he was sure of it.

The Demon Lord's eyes narrowed, and he stood up abruptly. "You had better not be joking, Bai Muchen. If you cannot produce that design today, do you know what will happen to you?"

"I'm well aware—death," Bai Muchen replied defiantly. "But what if I can deliver it? All I ask is that you mobilize your forces to crush Storm Star System and annihilate Feng Mo."

The Demon Lord sat back down, pondering. After a moment, he replied, "Very well. The Demon Star System will agree to your terms. But first, I must have the quasi-T5 blueprint in hand."

Seeing the Demon Lord's tone soften, Bai Muchen couldn't hide a smirk. "Demon Lord, I've come here willingly as a hostage. Once your forces are en route to Storm Star System, the design will be yours."

"I cannot deploy forces immediately," the Demon Lord countered. "Both of our T4 fleets are currently engaged elsewhere, and it will take time to recall them. Here's my counteroffer: leave the two T4 blueprints as collateral, and I'll guarantee an attack within a month."

The Demon Lord was playing it safe, unwilling to act without a sure benefit. Bai Muchen knew he had to make a concession. After all, two T4 designs were a small price to pay compared to what was at stake.

"I accept. One month," Bai Muchen agreed.

With a gleam of triumph in his eye, the Demon Lord continued, "Excellent. I do enjoy dealing with straightforward people like you. Stay in the Demon Star System for now and enjoy our hospitality. We have many exotic pleasures here, from lovely slave girls to beast slaves. Make yourself at home."

"Escort Bai Muchen and his men to the guest quarters. See to it that the madam of the pleasure house personally entertains them," the Demon Lord commanded. Though Bai Muchen felt a pang of embarrassment, he was in high spirits. The mission was a success, and curiosity about the Demon Lord's mention of beast slaves piqued his interest, so he followed the guards out willingly.
