Chapter 73

[1st POV]

Red Sea.

Honestly, I'm a little scared to jump from a height of fifteen kilometers out of an airplane.

However, I jump for the cause, heading down and in freefall.

At around six thousand kilometers, I use clones and create five of them, each having an RPG, just like me.

We need to hit two main points on the island: the port, where small boats are docked, and the runway, where planes and helicopters are located.

They may be assassins, but they have some serious modern technology.

I don't want to deal with any tails that might try to follow us to Gotham City or, even worse and more logically, shoot us down when we leave.

We fired the first shot once we entered the effective range for the RPGs.

The first fires started at the dock and hangars.

Then, we launched two more shots and hid the RPGs. In exchange, the clones were equipped with machine guns and sniper rifles.

They also grew pale blue wings on their backs and began diving towards the eastern side of the island, where the fires were and where the local security started gathering.

I, on the other hand, used my "chakra wings" to fly and headed west, where Jade was, while throwing kunai with my markings in various directions across the island from above.

After half a minute, I found myself on the ground, where the first group of assassins had already caught up with me.

"Katon: Hikaryuu no jutsu."

A rough, thick wall of flame surged toward the enemies, burning them alive.

I could even smell the scent of roasted human flesh through the smoke and flames.

Then I caught a familiar figure nearby, and It looked like my path would cross with Shiva's sooner than I thought.

I moved cautiously, making sure not to fall into traps or ambushes.

Within a minute of fighting, the blood on my hands had surpassed a hundred.

The clones were doing well too.

That was until three of the dispersed clones transmitted their memories to me, telling me that they had been "killed" by a dark-haired woman with a katana.

The fourth one, who chose to dissipate voluntarily, managed to capture her face and gather information using the "Observation":

...

A dangerous woman.

She's stronger than Shiva.

After killing the fifth clone, I created three more clones and sent them in three directions to spread chaos on the eastern island.

"Doton: Dochū Eigyo no Jutsu!"

Then, I sank underground and "swam" toward a large chamber where fifty or so living beings, including Lady Shiva and Jade, were located.

Also, there's an even stronger source of power. I think I know what it is— the renowned leader of this League, Ra's al Ghul.

I created a few more clones to infiltrate different sections of the building's underground section, placing seals and explosive tags and simply waiting in ambush in case reinforcements breakthrough.

I made a dramatic entrance from underground at the center of a massive chamber.

A man was sitting on some kind of throne.

He wasn't old yet, but he looked close to it. He had gray hair at his "temple" and was dressed in dark green, with a sword next to the "throne."

Lady Shiva stood next to him with concern and surprise.

Jade stood a meter away from her and looked at me with wide eyes that asked, "What are you?"

Suddenly, I was surrounded by fifty assassins.

However, I didn't pay much attention to them, as they didn't make any moves.

It seemed like they were expecting this kind of appearance and were just waiting for orders from their leader.

Name: Ra's al Ghul "Demon's Head, The Demon, Henri Ducard."

I didn't even want to look at his stats.

I felt weak.

"Isaac Dinklage."

The man savored my name on his lips.

He studied me closely, then stood up from the throne.

"I've been watching you for a long time, and to be honest, you've surprised me pleasantly. It's rare to find young people who show promise in our work, who achieve such rapid success in life and learning. You're just an anomaly."

"Well, I suppose many flattering things can be said about you as well. I've heard of you and I'd be happy to chat with you. However, I have business to attend to: a police job, a lovely woman, and now two girls in my care. By the way, the older one is standing next to Sandra."

At these words, the woman blinked since she hadn't told me her real name.

"Jade, dear, come here. We're going home."

"Ugh."

She looks at me with scared eyes and shakes her head in denial.

"Shunshin no Jutsu!"

Suddenly, I teleport behind her, knocking her out and putting her in the "Inventory."

Lady Shiva quickly moves away from me.

I wasn't planning to fight her.

"Let's make a deal, esteemed Demon's Head. You don't touch me, my loved ones, and you stay out of Gotham. And I won't touch you or interfere in your business. How does that sound?"

"Quite bold."

Ra's smirked, "I don't deny it, you're a high-level warrior with an unknown power. But you can't stand up to the League alone, especially not defeat me to prove your superiority and the right to dictate terms."

"So your answer is no?"

"As you understand."

At that moment, all the other League members, except for Shiva and Ra's, drew their weapons and prepared to attack.

Three more assassins, led by Talia, walked into the hall.

At first, Talia wanted to attack me too, but Ra's stopped her with a quick glance that made her angry.

I had to act quickly.

I pulled out more than fifty kunai from my inventory and threw them towards them.

BOOM!!!

The bodies were almost fifty and now unrecognizable.

"Don't underestimate your opponent."

I said to Ra's nonchalantly, appearing right in front of him as Body Flicker Technique.

"That's quite interesting, but are you capable of a more traditional form of combat?"

Afterward, he freed his cloak and drew his sword.

I don't know what came over me, but I couldn't resist the temptation to cross blades with such a person.

"So be it."

I nodded and took out Artemis' gift. I replenished my body with more chakra and moved to attack.

He is looking for a replacement.

Of course, even if I defeat him now, I still wouldn't be able to become his worthy successor because I lose when comparing his experience with mine.

I realize this.

Right now, I'm pushing him back, but I've managed to get some scratches.

This is despite my body being enhanced by chakra, using Stone Skin, and the armor with fuinjutsu.

He is incredible.

I wouldn't refuse to meet him in battle again or even train under him, but I can't leave Gotham.

It wouldn't take a year or two to agree to this kind of training.

With the system, it might be possible to learn at that time and gain all of Ras Al Ghul's experience.

But right now, I can overpower him with my strength as long as my chakra lasts.

During one of his clever moves, he was able to knock my sword out of my hands, but he didn't strike immediately.

Instead, he threw his blade aside and came at me in hand-to-hand combat.

The thing that made me feel stressed was again his experience.

He hits hard, not dangerous, but strong. I am still amazed and respect this man even more. However, I cannot afford to lose.

So, I switched to "Eight Gates"—Level 1. That leveled the playing field.

But soon, I realized that Ra's had adjusted to the fight, and I needed to increase my efforts.

There was no way to see my smile through my mask, but Ras's frown was clear, which made me happy.

I impressed him.

I don't even know why. I never thought this man's opinion mattered to me, but it felt good in my soul.

'The Gate of Healing!'

After that, I started infusing even more chakra into my strikes, and my speed increased again.

Ra's couldn't keep up.

A series of combinations and one powerful strike.

It left Ras Al Ghul powerless.

The remaining two assassins, Talia and Shiva, watched this as if it were a miracle, but I knew perfectly well that without chakra and the "Eight Gates," there was no way I could have taken down such a tough guy like him.

While I was happy with the victory, there was a burning sadness in my soul.

Without chakra, what am I?

It's just luck.

I need a teacher, a real, permanent teacher. Otherwise, I wouldn't even be able to look at myself in the mirror.

"Thank you for the fight, Demon Head."

I bowed to him, "Maybe we can repeat it another time, when we're both free or we could talk in a more peaceful manner. But for now, alas, I must hurry. Take care. And yes, please think about what I said. I don't want to be at odds with you."

Then, I left using the Flying Thunder God Technique.

It's time to go home.

To be continued…
