EDWINA 

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry," Kieran apologised as he held me. I said nothing, clutching him tighter. After a long moment — it felt like an eternity — I sniffed and let go, stepping out of the embrace.

Keiran suddenly looked sheepish as I stared at him. I knew I had to say something, but I suddenly had no idea of what I should say. 

Words failed me.

I knew I felt the same way about him, but it wasn't that simple.

The weight of his confession hung in the air between us, heavy and uncertain. My heart pounded, conflicted between fear and hope.

We couldn't just confess love to each other and just… move on with our lives. Right?

"Thank you, Kieran. For telling me all of that. I appreciate your sincerity," I finally managed to say, when the silence was beginning to draw out longer than necessary.

"You're welcome, I guess," he responded. To avoid standing there awkwardly, I walked back to my seat.
