The plan was simple, Aria would switch on the lights from the wall and Ryan would use the sudden brightness to locate the dwarf creature. With his gun he'd draw it out from their haven, away from Samuel and Aria.

And as soon as the creature was clear of the entrance, Samuel and Aria would swiftly enter the haven, securing themselves inside. Ryan would then find a way to block the creature's pursuit on him and trap it outside, before he sprints back to the haven's entrance.

With a deep breath, Ryan steeled himself and his grip on his gun tightened. Aria's hand hovered over the light switch.

"Now," Ryan whispered and Aria quickly pressed the switch, and the tunnel erupted into a brilliant light. The sudden light was blinding, forcing Ryan to squint.

All their gaze scanned the tunnel, searching for the creature.
