The sun had barely risen, yet the tension in Alex's penthouse was already unbearable. I sat silently on the couch, my hands cradling a steaming mug of coffee. The events of the previous night replayed in my mind - the crash, the letter, Alex's promise. Yet despite his assurances, the shadows of doubt still loomed large.

Alex is legally married to Victoria. So, how am I going to handle everything he has promised me. Could he be lying or he has a hidden agenda.
