Chapter 131 – I’m back, so let her go

Alex pushed Melanie harshly into the room as soon as he opened the door and closed it.

He was furious, and now that he had the company, he didn't have to pretend or play nice, especially knowing how much Grandpa liked Melanie because of her father.

"If you ever try to hurt my wife again, I will kill you," he stated coldly, causing Melanie's eyes to widen. Alex had never been so cold to her before.

"Alex, it's me. I'm the one you love, and I'm back, so let her go," she said seriously, though afraid. Alex laughed, but his eyes carried a glint of pain.

"Let her go? What did you tell me when you heard about the accident?"

Melanie's head lowered in embarrassment, but she soon regained herself. "Alex, there was so much pressure on me. Dad's health hasn't been good."

There were many others like Melanie in Alex's life. They left before getting to know much about him, and when the time came, they wouldn't give him a breathing space.
