Chapter 129 (edited)

Kara's approach to contacting Clark was highly sensible. If she had been a little later, perhaps Clark would have been forced to act impulsively.

What Clark didn't understand was that survival in outer space isn't as simple as holding one's breath. There are countless unknown and potentially deadly elements in the cosmos that humans barely comprehend. For example, gamma rays and various radioactive substances can kill instantly.

Kara herself could hold her breath for several days, but it wasn't just about air. She was concerned her body might not be able to adapt to the dangerous substances and conditions that exist in outer space.

However, Clark might not understand these risks. There was a real chance he'd recklessly charge into outer space in his determination to protect Earth. Thankfully, Kara returned in time to stop him.

Just as Kara put down the phone, Hal shouted: "Damn it, Hector! Don't hurt Carol—she's your friend and mine. We both care about her. If you truly love her, stop this!"

Kara turned her head and saw that Hal had conjured a communicator with his Green Lantern ring. He had intended to contact Carol but was instead greeted by Hector Hammond on the line.

It turned out that while Hal and Kara were on Oa, Kara had chosen not to kill Hector. She hadn't restricted his abilities, which allowed him to easily capture an ordinary human using his telepathic powers.

Kara felt no regret about this; she considered Hector insignificant.

"It seems like I'll have to deal with this alone," Kara said nonchalantly as Hal ended the call.

Hal looked apologetic. "I have to save Carol."

"I know, I know. Go save your beloved," Kara replied with a shrug before floating into the air and flying out of the open window.

Carol being kidnapped by Hector was a problem Hal couldn't ignore. And as Kara had said, she didn't need him. His presence wouldn't make much of a difference. With that, she set out alone.

With Kara's speed, she reached the edge of Earth's atmosphere in what seemed like an instant. Without hesitation, she broke through the atmosphere and entered outer space.

Once outside Earth's atmosphere, Kara's body was exposed to the vacuum of space. Instantly, a colorful energy surrounded her, protecting her body, enabling her to move freely, and even allowing her to breathe. This was the power of the rings—not just the Green Lantern ring but the other light rings as well.

Clad in her iconic blue top, red cape, red skirt, and boots, Kara was surrounded by the multicolored glow of the rings. She looked every bit the hero.

After a quick adjustment to the vacuum of space, she turned her gaze outward and spotted her target—a massive entity hurtling toward Earth at near-light speed. The dark figure resembled a storm cloud, its size overwhelming. It would reach Earth in minutes.

A smirk formed on Kara's lips as she sped toward the entity.

Kara's speed was unparalleled. Even without the light rings, she could circle the Earth in thirty seconds. Now, with the power of ten rings, her speed exceeded that of light. In a matter of seconds, she almost collided with the sun but stopped herself just in time. She curved around the star, using its gravitational pull to propel herself forward.

Surprisingly, as she passed the sun, she felt her body surge with power. Her cells seemed to awaken. If her strength had been a ten before, it now felt like a solid three hundred.

Kara dismissed the colorful shield around her, testing her ability to exist in space unaided. Her worries proved unfounded. She felt alive and powerful, realizing her close encounter with the sun had fundamentally changed her. However, she knew her limits; had she flown directly into the sun, she would not have survived. This realization tempered her excitement.

As she moved, a booming voice echoed in her mind: "Green Lantern, you dare challenge me?"

Kara turned her attention forward, where the massive entity—the Parallax—awaited. She had crossed half the solar system in mere seconds, reaching its edge in a blink.

The Parallax was a terrifying creature. Ordinary beings would succumb to fear simply by looking at it. Fear was its sustenance.

But Kara wasn't ordinary. She waved dismissively. "Keep your voice down. I'm not deaf."

Her dismissive attitude caught the Parallax off guard. "Who are you? You're no Green Lantern."

The Parallax noted her uniform—distinctly not Green Lantern attire. She wore Superman's classic suit.

Kara shrugged. "Of course not. I'm no Green Lantern. I'm something much better. I have ten rings—call me Tenfold."

She raised her hands, displaying the ten glowing rings to the Parallax.

The Parallax recoiled in disbelief. "Impossible! A yellow light ring among them? How?"
