Present day in the magical realm.
Lord lungu looks at his mate not believing his ears, there is no way he heard that right. He thinks his ears are playing tricks on him but when he looks at the expressions of everyone in the room he realizes that he heard it right. There is no way the mother of his children could hide something like this from him.
"What do you mean Ruby? Is she mine?" Lord lungu asks after some time his wolf showing in his eyes. His wolf is seconds away from coming out. He wants to be let out and find out the truth about his fated mate himself.
"Father, you need to calm down, you are going to hurt her," Rachel says, holding his hand.
"Answer me, Ruby, while I am still in control of my wolf." He growls, shaking her so violently.
"Father please calm down, you are hurting Her," Nichole says, as she tries to cast a calming spell on him as she touches his shoulder.
"Yes, she is your daughter." Lady Lungu says nervously.
"And you did not tell me about it? You knew she was carrying my child and you hid it from me. How have you been looking in my eyes all these years while hiding something like this? You deprived me of my daughter Ruby."
"I made a promise to Princess Rose not to tell anyone about her, especially not you." Lady Lungu says.
"Where are they now, mother?" Sarah, who has been quiet the whole time, asks.
"I have no idea where they are. Princess Rose was supposed to come back the moment she made sure her daughter was safe but she never came back. I think the brotherhood got to her before she could let me know she was back. Or maybe she decided to stay and raise her daughter which I doubt because she didn't want anyone to know she was pregnant. She didn't want to put her daughter in danger."
"You still haven't answered what Princess Rose needed your help with." Lord lungu says.
"Princess Rose was not just pregnant when I last saw her, she was transitioning into a vampire." Lady Lungu says.
"How is that even possible, mother? Princess Rose is a powerful witch and a dragon. So how is it possible that she was transitioning into a vampire when you last saw her?" Sarah asks in confusion.
The room falls silent as everyone processes the shocking revelation. Lord Lungu's mind is racing with questions and emotions. He never imagined that his mate, Princess Rose, could be in such danger. He feels a surge of protectiveness towards his daughter, knowing that she is out there somewhere, possibly facing the same threats.
As the truth sinks in, Lord Lungu's wolf fights to be set free, his eyes glowing with fierce determination. He knows that he must find Princess Rose and their daughter, no matter the cost. He starts to throw things in anger. He wants to hurt someone or something for taking his mare from him.
"Father, please calm down." Sarah pleads. Lord lungu at his daughter who looks at him with fear. His heart breaks by seeing the looks on his children's faces. They are staring at him with fear. Most species are scared of lord Lungu's wolf because he is known for being violent. After the news of Princess Rose's disappearance reached him, his wolf took over and scared those who dared come close to him. Some species still talk about that time. Most of them thought he was going to be crazy forever but he did not. And it's one of the reasons most are scared of him.
But the last thing he wants is for his daughters to be afraid of him. His children mean everything to him. He doesn't want them to think that he is going to abandon them just because he has found out that he has a daughter with his fated mate. He wants all four of his children with him.
"How did it happen? How was she taken? I want every detail." Lord lungu asks after he manages to calm his wolf. His wolf wants to be let free so that he can go and look for them.
"The brotherhood had kidnapped her a week before she came to see me. With the help of the dark witches, the brotherhood forced the change on her. The only good part was the fact that she managed to cloak her pregnancy and hide the baby's heartbeat before she was captured. She needed me to make sure her daughter was safe at all times." Lady Lungu explains.
"And how do you do that when you don't even know where she is, Ruby?" Asks lord lungu, his wolf still showing.
"Princess Rose made two pendants, her daughter wears one and I wear the other one." She says touching the pendant around her neck. "She cast a spell that allows me to know whether her daughter is safe or not. I haven't felt anything through the pendant until today."
"I can't believe you right now, Ruby. You have seen how much Princess Rose's disappearance has affected me all these years and you haven't said anything. I have been mocked by everyone for failing to protect my fated mate and you just kept quiet." Lord lungu says.
"The child's safety was more important than your feelings, my lord. And if I had to do it again I would do it in a heartbeat. Princess Rose came to me for help because she knew I would protect her daughter like my own. If it was any of my daughters in danger I know she should have protected them. I am not going to apologize to you for protecting an innocent child who also happens to be your daughter." Lady Lungu says in frustration.
"You should have told me." Lord lungu says. If he had known he would have protected them both.
"Telling you would have put both Princess Rose and the child in danger. Because I know for a fact that you would have followed her and those after would have followed you to get to her. "
"I know you are right Ruby, but I still wish I knew." Lord lungu says.
Lord lungu closes his eyes remembering the day he last saw Princess Rose. She was wearing a blue long dress that covered her toes, her hair tied up in a bun. If only he had done something different then, all of this would have been avoided. Lord lungu can not help but wonder if she still has the same smile she used to have back then, or if her laughter is still infectious as it used to be. He couldn't help but remember how her eyes used to light up when she laughed and how she would turn him by just looking at him with those captivating brown eyes of hers. Her beautiful eyes which were not sparkling the last time he saw her haunt him every time. Every time he wishes he had stopped her that day.
"Do you think Princess Rose Is alive, Mother?" Nichole asks. Snapping lord lungu out of his head.
"I have no idea, but if she was dead your father would have felt her die. Maybe the guardians she was meeting found a loophole and had helped her prevent the change. Either way, I need to find her daughter before a lot of people realize who she is. Because when they do she will be in more danger than her princess Rose ever was. I won't let anyone hurt her as they did Princess Rose. I will have to find her soon before it's too late." Lady Lungu says, sitting up.
"Is she safe, mother?" Rachel asks.
"I don't think she is. The spell Princess Rose put on her daughter was supposed to prevent anyone from finding her, Including the seers. She was supposed to be hidden from all magical beings. But if our seer can see her then something is very wrong. And if he can see her so can other seers including the ones the brotherhood has. Princess Rose told me that I would know when her daughter was in danger. When I felt pain earlier it was so unbearable I felt like I was being ripped from the inside out. I wonder how much pain she is in, I hope it's not as bad as mine was. "
After a few moments of silence, Lord Lungu finally speaks, "If what you say is true, then we must find this my daughter and I must ensure her safety. I couldn't protect her mother, the least I can do is protect her."
The daughters nod in agreement, still processing the information they just heard. Lady Lungu looks relieved that her mate believes her, even if it's just for this moment. She can tell that he is very angry with her but she is glad that he seems to be calm now.
"We have to find her before they do. Do you have any clue as to where Lady Rose could have taken her daughter?" Asks Nichole walking around.
"The human realm." Lady Lungu mumbles. Everyone looks at her like she just said something she shouldn't have said.
