Chapter 83: Manufacturing

**

"Ulysses Klaue?" Coulson paused for a moment. "That guy is pretty infamous, known for doing all kinds of shady things. He's also quite powerful."

"In my eyes, not so much. Once the power was cut off, it was easy to take them down with night vision equipment," Link replied casually, having tweaked the details a bit. "Why do you ask?"

"No particular reason. Since it's your personal matter, S.H.I.E.L.D. won't get involved," Coulson assured him. "I'm calling today to ask you about something else—did you get a new arc reactor from Stark?"

Link suddenly realized what the call was about and replied, "Yes, I did get one."

In fact, Link now had two reactors, and there were many more new elements being manufactured in his automated factory.

He had plans for both reactors—one for himself and one for Jessica. Although Jessica didn't need it right now, there was always the possibility she might face a threat later.

The new elements were also intended for weapons. Link had developed smaller energy sources for his energy pistols and larger ones for Jessica's heavy energy weapon.

This heavy weapon was inspired by Jinx's arsenal—it could transform into a machine gun or shoulder cannon and even charge up for a massive shot.

Link designed it specifically for Jessica, preferring she not engage in close-quarters combat. After all, unlike him, she wasn't as strong, and exposing her superhuman strength might be hard to explain.

Link added, "Osborn Industries has a glider, which I've tested. It works well as a flight tool."

"Though my shooting is top-notch, my movement speed has always been a bit slow. I had them modify it, installing an energy source for extended flight time."

"It outlasts Tony's flight suit since it doesn't need to power a full suit of armor."

Coulson nodded in understanding. "Got it. I'll let the Director know. Your combat abilities need to be re-evaluated."

Link shrugged, "No problem."

The call ended shortly after. Given Link's new position, he wasn't too concerned. Nick Fury was known for his strategic mind—cunning, even—and with this new information, Fury was bound to adjust how he utilized Link. But for now, Link wasn't in a rush.

He had already handed over his old apartment to Frank McCall and his men, giving them a place to stay without needing to pay rent. There was even a parking spot in the underground garage, and Link had bought them a vehicle.

Now, every morning, they would drive to the Osborn building, pick up Jessica for work, and drop her off after.

As for the gym, Link didn't own much property. He wasn't keen on real estate, finding it unnecessary. His small villa on the West Coast was enough.

He preferred the penthouse at Osborn Tower, where he could bask in the sun and enjoy the luxury. That gym was no longer needed either, since his current home gym, specially modified, was more than adequate for him and Jessica to train.

With the old gym now redundant, Link planned to transform it into a workshop—specifically for car modifications. He wanted to upgrade his Suburban SUV, turning it into a mobile armory for future battles.

Although it wasn't needed right away, the vehicle would come in handy down the line.

And with S.H.I.E.L.D. starting to use Quinjet technology—possibly with Tony Stark's guidance, although Link wasn't certain yet—the large SUV would be perfect for future missions.

The Quinjet could transport a whole S.H.I.E.L.D. strike team along with their gear, and Link envisioned it being modified to transport his vehicle. The glider could deliver ammo to him and be stored in the SUV when not in use.

The only downside? He couldn't use an armored vehicle—it was too heavy and too large for the Quinjet, though the SUV was manageable.

Jessica returned to the penthouse. "Alfred, where's Link?"

"Miss Jessica, Mr. Link is downstairs working," the AI Alfred responded. It had solved the problem of the house being too big to easily find her boyfriend.

Jessica, in her high heels, descended to the automated factory below, finding Link busy at a workbench.

When she approached, she saw that Link was using holographic projections—just a small one from the workbench. Link hadn't installed a full-sized holographic projector as his space wasn't suitable for it, and even Tony Stark hadn't set one up in Stark Tower.

Link turned to look at Jessica. "How does it look?"

"This platinum necklace has 108 diamonds of the same size, with 18 arranged in a heart shape."

Jessica smiled. "It's beautiful!"

"Good," Link replied, pleased by her satisfaction. He then commanded, "Alfred, start the manufacturing process."

Link stood up, leading Jessica back to the upper level so they could cook dinner together.

They rarely ate out, preferring to cook at home unless they had necessary social engagements or were meeting up with Trish.

Trish had fully taken charge of her radio show, thanks to the investments from Jessica's charity foundation. She now had complete creative freedom, saying whatever she wanted on air.

After dinner, they watched some TV. The battle suits were still in the manufacturing phase—while nano-level processing was fast, it still took time.

Working with vibranium wasn't easy either, requiring several days of effort. But once complete, vibranium's durability meant the suits wouldn't need further modification.

Vibranium also had another advantage: it could withstand the power of the Infinity Stones. Once Link got his hands on the Stones, he could wear them directly.

Vibranium was an excellent resource, solving many of Link's problems. He planned to acquire more in the future when the opportunity arose.

Though, for now, dealing with Wakanda to exchange Klaue for more vibranium wasn't an option.
