Trained immigrants

Sienna walked ahead, with Anthony following her a few steps behind. Although she didn't want him to accompany her, she had no choice. Agnes and Frank were protective of her, and considering the danger she was in, they wanted her to have more guards protecting her.

However, Sienna was adamant. She was on a mission and having more guards would ruin it for her. But she couldn't deny Agnes and Frank either. Eventually, she had no choice but to agree and bring Anthony with her even though she knew an army of guards was secretly protecting her.

Sienna didn't bother asking Anthony to stay behind in the car. The man wouldn't listen to her anyway. Her face didn't give away anything as she entered the police station. However, her aura was undeniably strong and the people made way for her immediately.

"Hello, Officer," Sienna greeted the police officer who was checking a report and the man stood up at once when he saw who it was.

"Miss Lawrence," The man's eyes widened and his lips quivered as he stared at her dumbly.

"I'm here to enquire about the case," Sienna removed her sunglasses and took the chair, leaving the officer standing.

"Yes, yes, Miss Lawrence," The man broke into a cold sweat as he picked up his phone and dialed his superior's number at once.

Although he was a police officer and had handled many cases, dealing with a lot of dangerous people, he had never felt this afraid of anyone. The fear he felt was out of respect for the woman before him. Her commanding presence was impossible to ignore and he felt an invisible pressure pressing in on him.

"Miss Lawrence, my superior who is handling the case will be here soon."

"No worries. I'll wait until then." Sienna was cooperative and leaned back on the chair while Anthony stood behind her, his eyes and ears alert as he scrutinized the place with his hawk-like gaze.

They were at the police station. But Anthony didn't let his guard down. Sometimes, the safest place was the most dangerous and he didn't trust anyone, not even the police.

The police officer didn't dare sit down. He was on pins and needles as he waited for his superior, hoping for him to arrive early.

Some of the other officers stopped working and looked at Sienna. Among the strong, burly men, she looked dainty and petite. However, she wasn't demure in any way. Instead, she had the temperament of a queen.

"Miss Lawrence, do you want to have something? Perhaps some tea or coffee?" the police officer offered.

"I'm fine. Thank you." Sienna shook her head. She'd take nothing from anyone she didn't know, and that meant anything given to her by anyone other than Agnes or Frank. Her family had become prey to a similar scheme, she wasn't willing to take the risk with her life.

Sienna didn't have to wait for a long time. In less than ten minutes, the police officer leading the investigation arrived.

"Hello, Officer. We meet again," Sienna greeted him first. She remembered him. She had met him the day her family members were murdered.

"Hello, Miss Lawrence. Shall we speak inside my office?"

Sienna glanced at the man's name place. 'L. Jenkins.'

"Sure, Officer Jenkins."

The police officer nodded at his subordinate and led Sienna and Anthony.

"Are you the lead here?" Sienna looked at the man who seemed to be in his late forties.

"Yes, Miss Lawrence. I'm in charge of this police station." The man turned to answer and continued walking, ignoring the glances they were receiving from the other people in the police station.

"Would you like to have something?" he offered once they were inside his office.

"No, thank you. I'm more interested in knowing the progress of the case. Shall we talk about it first?" Sienna stated the purpose of her visit without beating around the bush.

"Surely." The man nodded, his expression turning grim immediately. "We have found some information. Please check if you know anyone among here."

Officer Jenkins turned the laptop to Sienna and played the video he had retrieved.

"I got this from the event organizers," he explained while Sienna watched the video.

Sienna didn't exactly know what had happened on the dreadful day. It was all hearsay. Now that she was watching her family being murdered cruelly in front of everyone, her blood ran cold and she froze in her spot.

It was an award ceremony to felicitate all the philanthropists in the country and her sister, Leah had won the Outstanding Philanthropist of the Year. If Sienna didn't have a seminar to attend in another city, she too would have cheered for her sister.

Sienna's eyes stung with tears. But she remained adamant and didn't allow them to fall. She had vowed not to cry before anyone. So, she bit her tongue, holding back her tears until her eyes turned red.

Since the footage was from the organizers, the video had multiple angle shots and she clearly saw the security in charge of the event step forward and aim at her family. The guards who hadn't been affected by the laxatives tried to defend them. But it was too late.

The seven murderers were precise and swift and before her family's guards could react, they had killed her family. The video didn't end at that. Once shooting their targets, the murderers then aimed at each other and killed themselves.

The murder was well-planned and executed and Sienna realized that the seventh man had come for her. However, since she wasn't present at the event, he had, instead helped his teammates and took care of the guards protecting her family.

"Do you recognize any of them, Miss Lawrence?"

Sienna shook her head. The men hadn't covered their faces. They had come prepared not just to kill her family but themselves as well.

"As expected," Officer Jenkins mumbled to himself and lowered his head for a moment.

"All these murderers were illegal immigrants and they had been trained to kill. It's not surprising that you don't know them."

"What about the person in charge of the security?" Anthony, who had remained silent all along, couldn't resist but ask. "He must know a thing or two right? After all, he was the supervisor."

"That man," Officer Jenkins tilted his head and hesitated, "he is missing for three days. We are unable to track where he has absconded to."
