Descend.

Half a minute after Nicholas and Prenelle sent Loki the text.

'Is this right?' Loki thought as he looked at the rough shape he had created after rearranging the pieces of the skull he'd just stolen all around the camping grounds.

He had navigated the tents around the camp and buried them in their new positions, turning the original complex tree root-like structure into a simpler circular symbol with stars around it.

It was the symbol for the Evernight goddess that Loki remembered from Lord of the Mysteries.

'I hope I don't get smote from the heavens.'

'I doubt I can even survive a punishment from a true god at this point.'

With a soft *sigh* Loki looked in the direction of the hostages and Death Eaters and activated his spirit vision.

'I guess they're starting the ritual over there.'

Loki quickly created a wall of spirituality around himself, used his wand to transform the soil underneath him into an altar and placed three candles on it.

As soon as he was done, Loki felt a soft disturbance in the space around him. A small tear to the spirit world opened up in front of him from which an even smaller snake poked its head through.

*Hiss~ss*

"Alright, I don't know what you're saying, but I'm going to keep it short since we're running out of time. I need your help in performing a ritual for Salazar Slytherin, you in?" Loki asked.

The Basilisk looked at him for a little bit and then nodded by moving its head up and down.

"Good. We have very little time, I want you to give your spirituality to the ritual when it calls for it, is that alright?"

*Hiss~ss*

Loki didn't understand what the little snake was telling him but he got the feeling that it agreed so he proceeded with the ritual.

He lit them from left to right by rubbing his spirituality over them and calmly started to speak after entering cogitation to keep his thoughts clear.

"I"

"I pray for the power of darkness."

"I pray for the power of crimson."

"I pray for the God's loving grace."

"I pray for God's great powers to use the errors created in the ritual of the Death Eaters and the spirituality of your pet to hijack the ritual and conceal all of us from 'Them'."

"Night dew, a herb that belongs to the night, I pray for you to bestow powers to my incantation."

"Vanilla, a fragrance that belongs to the darkness, I pray for you to bestow powers to my incantation."

Just as Loki finished his prayer, the two candles on the altar that represented the divine turned a deep shade of green.

At almost the same time as he finished his prayer, Loki also felt a hostile gaze scan over the camp. But to his fortune, the gaze swept over him as if he didn't exist at all.

Loki breathed a mental *sigh* of relief but as soon as he did the world around him froze.

The people who Sunny had put away to sleep were about to wake up, each one stirring about as if they'd just woken up.

But before they could fully wake up a veil of night passed over them, covering them all in a comforting darkness that was very close to death.

Loki in his spirit vision saw the light of the moon flare and turn a deep red. Maddening ravings simultaneously erupted and caused everyone who could hear them to collapse to the floor, covering their ears from the sound that felt like someone was scratching a board with nails right on their brains.

Loki was among the few that managed to stay standing since he heard such ravings on a daily basis.

'This…how is it affecting people this much even after Salazar concealed them all!?'

'Is this the power of gods? The after-effects of a simple clash can kill everyone?'

Nicholas and Prenelle spread out their spirituality and covered the camp in its entirety, furthering Salazar's protection.

Yet even after they stood tall in protection, Loki could see the people around them writhing on the floor as if they'd been set on fire by desire.

Most of those that had collapsed, began to claw the ground with their nails as they proceeded to try and mate with the hard floor in one way or another.

*BBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM*

A thunderous clash echoed in the skies.

The light of the moon appeared like it was in a constant fight. Turning from crimson to blood red every few seconds and back before flickering to a deep shade of pink every few seconds.

Everywhere the blood-red light and the pink light landed, trees sprouted from the ground with various fleshy flowers attached to them.

It was as if the trees had somehow become animals. They constantly vibrated, sending out pheromones into the air, that made Loki feel like he was wasting time by not giving into his strong ever-growing desire to mate with one of the fleshy organs on the trees.

The camp that was earlier filled with humans slowly turned into a forest for these dead trees that had genitalia hanging from them.

But as soon as crimson light touched the trees they started to decay. It seemed like death had whispered the last words they would ever hear, causing them to turn to dust.

After this went on for a few seconds, suddenly the moon split into three equal parts, one part crimson while the other parts turned blood red and pink.

Three beams of light travelled from the far-away natural satellite to Earth twisting around each other as they fought for dominance, making their way to the leader of the Death Eaters.

'Shit!'

Loki cursed.

He knew that as long as Salazar failed to reach the leader of the ritual before the other two outer gods, his influence on the area would weaken.

But he could do nothing other than watch.

And to his absolute surprise, the blood-red light suddenly stopped and pulled the crimson light back by attacking it. Allowing the pink light to travel unimpeded.

Light exploded with an intensity that felt like a hundred suns had descended onto the planet.

Loki closed his eyes and looked away for a second, that second was enough for the light to reach the leader.

As soon as it did the woman like out a shrill *SCREEEEEEEEEEEECCCCCCHHHHHHHHHHH*.

The chilling scream broke not only the deafening silence that had gripped the camp but also the thin veil that Salazar had layered over the camp in an effort to hide everyone.

Everyone in the area was suddenly feeling a new mental strain that was forcing their bodies to mutate.

Those who had collapsed and fallen unconscious started to bubble up as their bodies began showing signs of corruption, tree roots popped out of their bodies and tied them to the ground.

Those who remained awake were slowly losing their sanity to madness.

It was only a matter of time before they lost.

The other lights soon reached the leader however and under his shocked gaze, Loki found three things happening one after another, each equally strange.

Firstly, the robes around the leader suddenly tore apart, revealing the dainty figure of a woman.

Secondly, branches exploded from her back as they erupted into a gigantic tree that grew all around her body, climbing high into the sky.

Thirdly, the branches of the tree started to decay rapidly wherever the crimson light touched them before they regrew with even greater ferocity.

''They' are working together?' Loki's hands trembled at this thought.

Just as the tree finished forming, Nicholas pushed his hand forward and dragged it sideways as if he were pulling space itself.

As he pulled forth with all his strength, Loki saw the growing tree bend.

The thick base of the tree began to splinter.

The bloody trunk cracked, but Nicolas wasn't able to do much else.

Just when it seemed like Nicholas was about to give up, Prenelle stepped up.

From her hand extended a large beam of iron or steel.

Loki wondered what she wanted to do with it but he didn't have to wait for long.

Prenelle jammed the steel into the trunk and, with a force that could only be classified as inhumane, almost god-like, with just her brute strength, used the lower section of the tree as a fulcrum to tear apart the entire tree and caused it to collapse into Nicholas's iron grip on it.

Loki observed how the fleshy protrusions all around the tree transformed hurriedly and rushed towards the breaking point to repair the damage caused to it, but as if on instinct, Loki acted.

With a swipe of his hand, Loki pulled from the tree.

Loki wanted to steal the fleshy protrusions from the tree so that it couldn't heal but that wasn't what happened.

Instead, in Loki's hands, a miniaturised version of the tree's roots directly appeared.

'Well, this works too I guess?'

Without support from its roots, the tree started to tilt and began to collapse in the direction Nicholas was pulling it.

An unholy *screech* erupted from the fleshy organs on the tree and a portal suddenly opened beside the tree.

But this one wasn't a portal to the spirit world.

Instead, it was one that led to the depths of the abyss.

From it, Loki saw countless demonic eyes peer out, but they didn't appear to be looking at Nicholas or Prenelle or even the unconscious people near them, they instead locked eyes directly with Loki as if they could see him through space.

Loki *gulped*.

'Fuck.'
