New Thief In Town.

Walking out of the great hall, Loki moved in the direction of classroom 2-21 to see if Hermione and Daphne were done with their work so that he could start the process of printing the newspapers by typesetting everything according to their layouts.

But as soon as he stepped out of the Great Hall, two read heads stopped him in his tracks.

"What happened? Fred? George?" Loki asked with a confused look on his face.

'Do they need me to help them with other alchemical artefacts?'

"We were just here to inquire about something.", Fred said while George nodded.

"Were my notes on how I fixed your things too vague? Do you have doubts regarding them?"

"No, no. Those were perfect. Wouldn't have it any other way. It's something else." George took over.

"Fire away then, what do you want to know?"

"We were wondering if you visited the Gryffindor dorms anytime recently?"

"The Gryffindor dorms?" Loki asked for confirmation if he'd heard right.

"Yes. Or have you sold the passwords of the other common rooms to anyone else?" Fred and George both asked in succession.

"No? I haven't left the Slytherin Dorms and definitely haven't sold any of the common room passwords. Did something happen?"

Fred and George looked at each other before looking at Loki and speaking in a whisper, "Someone ravaged the men's and women's dorms in Gryffindor."

"Seriously?" Loki asked with wide eyes as he felt worried if it was anything related to him. "But why doubt someone from the other houses? Wouldn't they be unable to enter?"

"Although true, we learnt something from the Fat Lady that says otherwise."

"Come on! Don't keep me in suspense tell me what you learnt!" Loki said hurrying the two boys worried if this incident was going to be connected back to him in some way.

Fred and George looked at each other and then nodded and said, "We heard Professor McGonagall question the fat lady in front of the students in the common room.-"

"-During the questioning, the Fat Lady revealed that she remembered a dark shadow leaving the common room in the middle of the night, something that she didn't remember letting in."

'Damn.' Loki cursed internally but externally managed to keep his calm and still look surprised.

"A black shadow?" Loki asked pretending to be confused.

"Yes. That is how the Fat Lady described it."

"I see…"

'But why was the Gryffindor common room upturned? Didn't the shadow just steal from Ginny? Why would it have touched other people's belongings?'

'I need to ask him if he did anything else.'

"Can you let us know if you learn something about the culprit?" Fred asked Loki.

"Sure. Was there anything missing? If so I can keep an eye out for that."

"No. Nobody has said anything was missing, but we're still searching through our belongings so we don't have a final tally yet."

"I understand. I will keep an eye out for any people who know about this and will let you know if I figure something out. I'll use the Marauder's map and keep track of anyone entering or exiting the common room too whenever I can."

"Thank you, Loki! You've helped us quite a bit. Let us know if we can ever do something for you." George said with a smile patting Loki's shoulders.

"And thanks for helping the git give answers to our questions about pranks.", Fred said with a smile and a wink as he left, leaving Loki to just shake his head in amusement.

The twins then left and Loki instead of rushing to a class slipped into a nearby lavatory and summoned the shadow servant to ask him a few questions.

"Did you touch any other person's belongings in the Gryffindor common room?"

*Growl~*

"No? Then did you spot anyone else doing anything similar?"

*growl~*

"Hmm…you did not. I see. Alright then you can go take rest." Loki said and the shadow vanished away into the ring.

'Then who did it?'

'Who was responsible for turning around all the Gryffindor students' trunks?'

'How did no one wake up when such a thing happened?'

'They must've had great command over magic to make sure that no one woke up or noticed what was happening.'

'Were they after the Book too?'

'Was it Ginny?'

'But she's only in her first year so she shouldn't have been able to cast such advanced magic that would allow the students to not notice her going through their stuff.'

'Maybe Tom taught her some advanced spells like he's teaching me about ancient runes?'

'But that doesn't seem plausible. I don't think Ginny is genius enough to learn such things from him.'

That was when an idea struck Loki out of the blue.

'Can Tom still control her?'

'But how?'

'In case he can, the Chamber of Secrets will not remain closed but will open once again.'

'Huh…this is getting complicated.'

'I should use the Marauder's map to keep a close watch on her. Maybe she's still under his control.'

With the short introspection done Loki left to attend classes but all throughout the day, during Lunch and Dinner Loki kept his eye out for Ginny who looked quite frightened and worried.

'Is she just worried about the diary going missing?'

'But why does she look so weak still?'

Loki used Spirit Vision to gauge her health and found that her condition was rapidly worsening as if she was being slowly poisoned to death.

'Do I return the book to her?'

'No. I don't know if that will worsen her condition or help her.'

'I should wait a little while to see if her condition gets better and if it does not then I can just inform Madam Pomfrey about her.'

'I'm sure the professor are also aware something's wrong by now…I doubt they'll let someone with such terrible health simply skip being checked out by Madam Pomfrey.'

'Either 'Adam' is stopping them or he's trying to arrange a coincidence?'

'For me and Ginny?'

'Why not Harry?'

'Have I come across any coincidences?'

'...I did 'coincidentally' see Ginny transforming into Tom when I used the map for the first time…'

Loki patiently waited for the next few days as he studied with Tom about Ancient Runes each day and increased his expertise on the subject.

While his project of monitoring Ginny Weasly throughout the day also gave back a positive response.

'It seems like she's finally getting better for some odd reason.'

Two more common rooms had been broken into in the last few days and the students' belongings had been overturned but the thief hadn't been caught no matter the precautions the teachers took.

'Only the Slytherin Common Room remains. I should just store the book on my person from now.'

'I have a feeling that Ginny will become alright if I keep the book away from her, but I should do a divination check just in case.'

Entering the Sefirah Castle, Loki performed a simple divination to check if Ginny would be alright.

'Ginny will be clear of danger if I keep the diary away from her.'

'Ginny will be clear of danger if I keep the diary away from her.'

'Ginny will be clear of danger if I keep the diary away from her.'

'Ginny will be clear of danger if I keep the diary away from her.'

Opening his eyes, Loki looked at the topaz pendulum that was spinning in an anti-clockwise fashion and felt a little puzzled.

'Anti-clockwise?'

'So she'll still be in danger if the book is kept away from her?'

'Why?'

'What's going on?'

A/N : There was one person who pointed out the coincidence, I've got to say, good job catching it. (even though I only added it into the story now that you've pointed it out, because it made what I planned even better, I'm going to pretend like it was always like this.)
