Stepping through the cold and droopy castle which had turned to look and feel like the dungeons due to the quick sunsets of the winter and the heavy cloudy skies Loki sniffled a little as he walked toward Hospital Wing.
*knock* *knock*
"Madam Pomfrey!" Loki shouted trying his best not to sound too loud so that he wouldn't disturb the patients already inside the Hospital.
"Yes?" Madam Pomfrey asked looking at Loki sceptically. "What happened this time? Where do we have to go?"
"Ah..no mam we don't have to go anywhere."
"Oh? Then why're you here?"
"I was wondering…*sniffle* if you had any pepperup potions?"
"I see. Wait here." Madam Pomfrey said and ducked into the Hospital Wing and came back with a small cauldron, like the cauldron used for cakes, filled with red liquid to its brim. "You can keep this, just use it sparingly throughout the winter."
"Yes, Mam." Loki nodded and quickly walked back to classroom 2-21 and stowed away the small cauldron into a corner by the window.
"If either of you needs the perpperup potion you can use the one inside this cauldron.", Loki said distracting Hermione and Daphne from their work.
They nodded and continued doing what they had done before, there was not much work today since it was Halloween and they had already published a special edition of their newspaper in the morning.
Eventually, Daphne left first since she wanted to attend the Halloween feast in the Great Hall, leaving Hermione and Loki alone.
"Loki wanna come with me to the Deathday party today?" Hermione casually asked.
"Deathday party? What?"
"Yeah, it's Nearly Headless Nick's five hundredth death day anniversary so he's celebrating it by bringing ghosts from all over the country to the party. He invited Harry, Ron and me, I'm sure one more wouldn't be a problem."
"Huh. I do wanna come, but I don't think Ron will like it if I intrude. And I don't like attending unannounced anyway. Good luck." Loki said and left the classroom to go to the Halloween feast in the great hall too.
Once in the great hall, Loki sat down on the Slytherin table as he looked happily at the enthusiasm people were displaying while playing Arcadia Royale with the newly minted Halloween-themed cards.
"Haha~ I wonder if something crazy like last year will happen again during this Halloween.", Loki mumbled out loud just enough for Tracey to catch him.
"You wanna bet?!" Tracey asked and Loki raised his eyebrows, "What do you wanna bet?"
"I bet you have all the special cards all stored up, don't you? Just give me one of them." Tracey said hooking her arm into Daphne's and swinging her.
"And why don't you ask Daphne for a card instead of me?" Loki asked turning towards the girl to show his interest.
"Because Daphne is a stickler for the rules. She won't even give me a peep if I try and make a bet with her."
"*sigh* I understand your enthusiasm but what can you give me in exchange if I win? Each of the cards is extremely precious you know?"
"Umm…..Oh, I know! How about a date with Daph- *Slap*" Daphne slapped her hand onto Tracey's mouth to shut her up but not one to be pushed down Tracey bit Daphne's hand, except she underestimated Daphne's strength and found herself in a chokehold that she had to tap out from.
"Haha, see, it is impossible for you to compensate me with something in exchange for the card. And what do you think is going to happen anyway, Hogwarts is the safest place since it is under the Headmaster's protection."
"Hmm…I haven't bet yet so no losses here." Tracy reluctantly nodded.
The feast soon ended and students began to walk down the halls to their dormitories except all the students suddenly stopped when they came in front of a wall on which painted with blood were the words.
The Chamber of Secrets Has Been Opened,
Enemies of the Heir…Beware.
Miss Norris hung on the wall from a torch with her eyes wide open and her body rigid, everyone that saw her immediately assumed she was dead.
Loki immediately activated spirit vision and looked at Miss Norris.
'She's alive…but frozen somehow…'
Then he moved to the head of the crowd so that he had a full view of the student body.
'Since the perpetrator used blood it is possible that they are currently suffering from blood loss if they used their own blood.'
'Oh, but I will only find them if they joined the feast after they committed the crime.'
Looking around the students Loki immediately spotted several lightly sick children and remembered their faces.
'It could be the cold, but there's no one in the crowd that's too sick. No one that could've lost this much blood.'
Draco then pushed through the crowd and spoke loftily by twisting the writing to suit his liking, "Enemies of the heir beware! You'll be next Mudbloods!"
The stunned silence caused by everyone seeing Mrs Norris up on the wall hanging like a frozen doll was not broken even by Draco's shout, hence why no one took offence at being called mudblood. It only made him look like an idiot.
'How's he so good at making a fool out of himself?'
"What's going on here!? What's going on!?" Filch wedged through the crowd and arrived at the front where he realised something had happened to Miss Norris.
Assuming the worst, Filch began to point at Harry and shout like a madman, "You! You've murdered my cat! You've killed her!! I'll kill you!!! I'll-"
"Argus!" A calm wise voice interrupted the scene, it was Dumbledore.
He swept past all the students even Harry, Ron and Hermione and pulled down Miss Norris from the torch bracket she was hanging from.
"Follow me, Argus.", Dumbledore said holding Miss Norris in his arms. "You too Mr. Potter, Mr. Weasley, and Miss Granger."
Lockhart stepped forward eagerly and said, "My office is nearest, Headmaster -just upstairs - please feel free-"
"Thank you Gilderoy.", said Dumbledore.
The crowd parted to let them pass and moved aside with some nervousness and excitement on their faces.
"I told you something would happen!" Tracey whispered into Loki's ear as he joined back the crowd. "I should've taken that bet! Damn it!"
Loki smiled helplessly and walked along with Tracey and Daphne to the Slytherin common room where he locked himself inside his room and travelled to the grey fog.
'If they were careless enough to make a mistake or someone naive I should be able to divine about them.'
'But if it's a part of 'Adam's' plan, I don't think I'll be able to figure anything out.'
'Well let's see what I can do anyway.'
