Attack On Friends!

"Dominic, what's the philosopher's stone?" Loki asked casually making conversation while eating breakfast.

"Huh? Oh it's supposed to be a legendary item that gives its user immortality and the ability to turn anything into gold."

"That's all?"

"Yeah, what else could you want?"

"No not in that sense, I thought it'd be more realistic. Like it might have some curse associated with it, for example, the more you use it the more humanity you'd lose until you turn into a mad raving zombie or something."

"You've got an active imagination, but it is realistic, a person called Nicholas Flamel is known to have made the stone. I don't know if it is a hoax, but he's supposed to have lived around six hundred years already."

"Huh."

'Is he just another high-sequence Beyonder?'

'And angle or something of that sort?'

'Maybe even a true god since people know his name from legends and form his anchors?'

'But why does it feel like I've heard the name before? And why was Mione looking for it?'

Moving to the potion's classroom, Loki paired up with Hermione in the practical session and presented his question to her.

"Why were you looking around for the philosopher's stone?"

Hermione looked at him shocked as she said, "Did I say that out loud!?"

"Well, you were mumbling things while I 'saw nothing' so I heard accidentally, you don't have to tell me if you don't want to.'

Hermione glared at Loki for a few seconds but then finally gave up and said with a sigh, "I know about the philosopher stone because of the chocolate frog card."

"Huh?"

"The chocolate frog that you bought for me on the train when we arrived at Hogwarts? There was a card for Professor Dumbledore in that, it said about him working with Nicholas Flamel to discover the seven uses of dragon blood."

"I see, but what about the Philosopher's stone? Why did you go looking about it?"

"We were worried that Professor Snape might be planning on stealing something that was being protected at Hogwarts in the third-floor corridor so we looked around about it and figured out that it was the Philosopher's stone.", Hermione said nodding her chin in Harry and Ron's direction.

"You were worried Professor Snape would steal it?" Loki asked with raised eyebrows.

Hermione looked at Loki sceptically and then leaned in a little so no one would be able to hear them and whispered into his ear, "Professor Snape was cursing Harry's broom in the first Quidditch match, he was the reason it went out of control."

"Huh? How do you know that?" Loki asked wondering why Dumbledore was using Snape as a linchpin in his story. 'Is this some weird attempt at playing a twist where he reveals it was you-know-who all along at the end?'

"I saw him staring at Harry's broom and mumbling something under his breath."

"Well, even Professor Quirrell was doing that." Loki countered and caused Hermione to become stumped.

"He did that?" She asked confused.

"Yeah, I thought they were both trying to save Harry since he was going to crash because his broom was out of control."

"Huh." Hermione became confused but then she said, "Maybe Professor Quirrell was protecting Harry and Professor Snape was trying to kill Harry?"

"Maybe, but I don't think so, there are a million other better ways for Professor Snape to kill Harry than do it out in the open in front of all the other teachers. I mean he could just tamper with his potion so that he'd die during class or something."

"...you aren't wrong." Hermione concluded. "But Ron told us that Professor Snape was a former death eater, death eaters are minions of you-know-who, so maybe he's trying to steal the philosopher's stone to give it to his master?"

"Could be.", Loki said but did not reveal that the Philosopher's stone that Hermione was thinking about was really a skull with blood flowing out of its eyes.

'Now that I think about it, could that skull itself be the Philosopher's Stone? Maybe drinking the blood leaking from it gives the person immortality or something?'

'I'll try to divine about it later.'

When the potions class ended Loki had a better comprehensive understanding of Dumbledore's plan.

'So 'He' wants Harry to protect the 'Philosopher's Stone' from you-know-who while making it seem like Professor Snape is the villain?'

'Poor Professor Snape, he probably didn't know that he was going to be assigned the role of the villain while working under the headmaster.'

'But if 'Adam' is against you-know-who, why is he helping the 'True Creator' and the Aurora Order to find me? Or is this an expansive trap that aims to capture the Aurora Order in some way? But why would 'Adam' the king of angels want to help low-level thugs like Mr. A?'

'Doesn't make much sense.'

'In LOTM 'Adam' and the 'True Creator' worked towards absorbing each other, is it the same in this world or are they enemies here? Or there's something different about their relationship?'

Loki spent the rest of the day reading up about runes and working to improve his control over spirituality outside his body so that he could cast spells without having to swing his wand like a conductor every time.

As evening approached, Loki had dinner with Dominic and left to go to Professor Snape's office.

"Go get me these ingredients." Professor Snape said giving Loki a list and a pouch that he would have to fill with ingredients from the forbidden forest.

"Sure Professor.", Loki said with a nod and took off into the darkness going toward the Forbidden Forest.

"Huh? Hagrid? What are you doing out here with students?" Loki asked as he arrived at Hagrid's hut where the trail to go inside the Forbidden Forest began.

"It's for their detention.", Hagrid said pointing at the row of children who all seemed to be a little afraid of stepping into the forest so deep into the night.

"Oh? Are they picking ingredients too?"

"No, I noticed something weird today, there was Unicorn blood splashed on certain tre-"

Before Hagrid could finish his sentence, Loki was off, running into the depths of the forest without even looking back.

"What's up with him?" Hermione asked worriedly since she'd never seen Loki rush for anything before.

"He loves them Unicorns. He plays with them quite frequently, they are very close." Hagrid said with a sigh.

"Will he be alright?" Hermione asked worried even more.

"He should be able to keep himself safe." Hagrid nodded, "He's been here more times than you could count on your stubby fingers."

Everyone watched Loki vanish into the depths of the forest while Malfoy mumbled, "Hope he dies there. Perhaps whatever's killing the unicorns kill him too.", causing everyone to turn and glare at him.

'Someone's killing the unicorns?!' Loki screamed inside his mind, as he made theories about what was happening.

'No one would kill a Unicorn for their horns or tail hair, those drop naturally.'

'So blood?'

'But who'd want to be cursed to gain it?'

'Wait, Harry was going to enter the forest, so it's 'His' plan? So you-know-who's involved?'
