"What do you think?" Loki turned toward Dominic and asked immediately.
"He shouldn't be lying.", Dominic said unsure as the students in the great hall had all broken into a panicked shout as they spoke to each other about the incident.
*BANG* *BANG* *BANG*
Several loud purple firecrackers exploded from the end of Headmaster Dumbledore's wand causing everyone to become silent and look at him allowing him to speak in a calm but loud voice.
"Prefects! Lead your houses back to the dormitories immediately!"
At the end of his sentence, Loki caught Dumbledore looking at Dominic for a brief moment after which Dominic stood up and began to walk to the teacher's table.
"Loki, keep with the prefects, they're definitely stronger than a troll, got it?" Dominic asked before he left.
"Sure, I won't stray." Loki nodded, freeing Dominic to do his job as the head boy.
As Dominic left Loki scanned the Gryffindor Table and noticed Hermione missing, but since the Slytherin prefect was already leading everyone to the dungeons Loki inadvertently followed though he felt a little worried.
'Will Mione be alright?'
'Perhaps she's already in the common room or the library doing homework or studying something?'
As Loki blended in with the crowd and moved towards the Dungeons he suddenly had a bad premonition and ducked.
'Damn, why is someone attacking me now!?'
As he looked back while crouched, Loki found a student looking at him with anger that his spell missed.
"You look remarkably like a troll, if I didn't know any better I would've thought that Professor Quirrel was talking about you.", Loki complained as he saw the student pull back his wand to launch another spell.
Loki dove into the group of students and used his small height to an advantage as he moved through and entered one of the secret passages Dominic had led him to discover.
Rushing through the tight corridor Loki finally arrived in a different corridor from where he could see no one was running behind him.
He relaxed a little until he suddenly heard the shuffle of feet.
Loki quickly hid behind a stone gargoyle doing his best to blend in with the shadows as he stayed silent without breath.
As the feet shuffled past him, Loki caught sight of a purple turban and the distinct smell of garlic, 'Professor Quirrel? Didn't he faint?' Loki wondered, he still stayed hidden since he could again hear more footsteps that followed.
This time Loki heard light footsteps and saw a bellowing cloak from his hiding spot.
'Professor Snape? Is he following Professor Quirrel?' Loki wondered but then he had to close his nose since he felt a strong odor rise up his nose.
'Foul!! Too Foul!! It smells of rotten eggs and dead rodents! Why is it here?' Loki wondered his eyes watering as he looked at the end of the corridor.
A twelve-foot-tall green humanoid creature tumbled into the corridor dragging along with it a wooden club that was as wide as its stout arms and legs as wide as a tree trunk.
'Is that a troll?'
'Wasn't it supposed to be in the dungeons?'
Loki looked around and couldn't see a reason why the troll had entered this region so to protect himself he entered the first room in the corridor, luckily the room also had its key still in the lock so Loki locked the door after he closed it to prevent the troll from getting in.
"Loki!" A squeaky girly voice, one that Loki was very familiar with, entered his ears.
"Mione! How are you here!?" Loki asked.
"I should be asking you that! This is the girls' washroom!"
"It is?" Loki asked with wide eyes.
"What are you doing here?"
"Professor Quirrel ran up to the great hall and said there was a troll in the dungeon which disrupted the feast and caused Professor Dumbledore to send away all the students into their dormitories."
"Tro-!?" Hermione attempted to ask loudly but Loki closed her mouth.
"The troll's outside, I locked the door so that it wouldn't enter here.", Loki said and they both heard the *thuds* of the troll's foot landing on the ground outside.
They patiently heard the troll walking towards the door and then walking away deeper into the corridor.
*Phew*
Hermoine and Loki breathed a sigh of relief but as soon as they calmed down they heard Troll return.
Before either of them could scream or shout Loki pulled Hermione and backed away into the wall behind them instinctively, and it was good that he did since the next moment the entire wooden door that was attached to the wall and locked was blown off its hinges into smithereens as a wooden club broke through.
"AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" Hermione screamed like the little girl she was.
Loki's mind blasted with a million questions beginning with the most mundane, 'Why was there a key in the lock for the door?'
'Was it a coincidence?'
'Or did someone intend to guide me to this washroom?'
'Was it the work of a Beyonder of the Spectator Pathway?'
'No! Now's not the time to handle this! I need to save myself! And Mione!'
Loki pointed his wand at the giant Troll and just when the Troll lifted the club above his head to flatten and make pancakes out of him and Hermione, he shouted, "Wingardium Leviosa!"
Loki poured most if not all of his spirituality into the wand and threw it out while making a perfect swish and flick motion, the club did stop dropping down onto them but the troll held it with such a strong grip that the spell didn't do much else.
But it did force the troll to stop moving as it fought against the pulling force of Loki's spell.
"Mione run!" Loki shouted as he pushed Hermione across from the troll and out of the washroom. "Get help!!" Loki shouted so that she wouldn't foolishly return.
Once Hermione was out of the way, Loki looked at the Troll and let his hand holding up the posture for keeping the spell active collapse, causing the troll to stumble at the sudden lack of force it was fighting against.
Sweat formed on Loki's brows and he felt his body going numb as he looked at the troll that was waiting to beat him up.
'What do I do now!?'
'I can't cast any grand spells!'
'Wait! I don't need to kill the troll! I can just escape instead!'
In a fit of madness, Loki flicked his wand in a perfect semi-circle and chanted in a bold tone with forced imagery, "Lumos Maxima!"
The Lumos Maxima charm created a bright flash of light and paired with Loki's half circle it only created a spotlight that saved Loki the trouble of having to look at the light.
The troll was instantly blinded and Loki found himself running out the door from under the troll's stinky legs as he escaped into the corridor and began running away despite the fatigue that had built up in him from expending so much spirituality.
'I hope Hermione comes back with a professor!'
Loki tumbled through the secret passage way and escaped into the dungeons where on the way back to the Slytherin common room he met Dominic in whose arms he collapsed and fainted even before he could say a word.
