That trial was the reason her life changed. She was sent to the human world later and that was that.

Rose didn't worry much about the consequences now. There could be nothing worse than this.

Asher, on the other hand, was trying to decide how to handle the whole "Lydia sending a spell to Rose" thing. He had already sent her away and if he could, she wouldn't be able to return to their city anytime soon.

But there should be something that needs to be done.

"Ashy, what's the wifi password?"

"One two, three four, xyz equals today."

She glared at him.

He finally took over her phone and typed 234xyz=2day. That was just because he wanted to confuse anyone who asked him for a password and the first person who did ask him was his mom.

He didn't want to get hit by confusing her.

"Mom, that spell was sent by Lydia Barnes. I don't know how she got hold of it."

She turned back and looked at him, "Are you sure?"

Asher answered, "Yes, Rose found it."

"Let me sit and think."

She sat on the floor and meditated.

Asher sat before her, reading an ebook. He didn't have anything else to do.

She opened her eyes.

"I met Lydia once when she was a kid. She didn't have any magic imprint then. We should really consider checking how she got in touch with magic."

"Why, Mom?"

She pursued her lips and then sighed.

"Asher, before I felt that you were safe in the human world. But seeing spells and magic near you, I'm not sure if anyone knows about your powers."

Asher now felt speechless. No matter how farfetched it sounded, she had a point.

"Did you meet your dad? Why do I smell him on you?"

Asher smiled.

"It was his son who came to meet me today."

She scowled.

"He dares?"

"He dares!"

"Just ignore that family. They are nothing but idiots."

Asher did plan on ignoring them. They were separated five years ago. He didn't know why Cole met him today.

"Go sleep, I'll meditate the night."

Asher left her and returned to his room.

Rose had to study for a while before sleeping. That helped her when she worked.

The next day, Rose was working and chatting with the system. They were having fun.

It was all going well until she heard the sound of heels.

That click-clack sound. She raised her head and saw a luxuriously dressed woman walking towards her.

She wore a strapless dress and a shawl over it. And the jewelry, the bling bling of it sent glare her way.

"Hey, tell Asher his fiance is here!"

She raised her neck proudly and looked at Rose over and over.

"Excuse me, Miss! Mr. Asher is in a meeting. Please wait!"

Rose told her in a professional tone, with a smile.

She snorted.

"I know all about you secretaries. Just tell him and he will come running to me. We are going to be married soon, you know. If you don't do your job well, wait for me, I'll fire you."

She snapped her fingers at the end.

Was that supposed to be intimidating?

Rose acted shaken. She didn't want to be disturbed again.

"Hm. It's so ugly here. Why aren't there flowers? Get me roses. Now!"

Rose resisted the urge to roll her eyes. The lady clearly didn't know that she couldn't change anything here. Even Rose didn't change the position of the pen.

"Miss, you can tell Mr. Asher if you have any ideas."

"Are you seeing my joke? Just wait. He will change it."

"No, Miss. I'm sure Mr. Asher will like your beautiful suggestions and listen to you."

She seemed pacified.

"You are good. Tell me, where's that Lydia?"

Rose saw the anger and disgust on her face when she spoke her name.

Well, she felt the same.

"Miss Barnes is heading a project in Sea Town."

The lady smiled.

"Haha, that witch left. It's time to celebrate. Tell me, what cake do you like, I'll get one. Haha. God has eyes."

She was making it hard for Rose to hate her. Among the people who liked Asher, this girl was her favorite.

"No, Miss. I can't eat now. Lunch will be soon. You can however do as you please."

Rose smiled. She was amused. Her work time seemed delightful today.

Before she could enjoy it more by talking with this girl and not working, Asher entered the space.

And she saw the face changing live.

"Ah, brother, you are here. I missed you so much. You are so handsome."

Asher was almost hugged and he put some distance between them.

"Brother!"

She stamped her feet.

"Mimi, stay where you are."

Asher took a few steps back and the lady, Mimi pouted.

Whoa. OMG. The domineering lady turned into a sweet girl. Somewhat sweet girl.

"Come in."

He could see Rose watching drama so he took the girl to his office.

Mimi didn't even look at Rose and followed Asher like a tail.

Rose smirked and started her work again.

"Brother, did you miss me?"

Asher felt a headache coming in. He opened the drawer and took a pill.

"Mimi, how many times have I told you to not call me Brother?"

She pouted again.

"Then can I call you,baby?"

Asher who was drinking water choked.

He coughed and looked at her incredulously.

"What?"

"Brother, Dad told me he wants you to marry me."

This time, Rose, who was clearly eavesdropping, choked. What? Dad? Marry? Brother? What the hell?

"Mimi, stop. Think before you talk!"

"Why? I like you. I want to marry you. Besides, we aren't related. At all."

Asher felt his head aching.

"I don't see you that way. Actually, I don't see you more than once in two years. Stop it."

Mimi wasn't taking no for an answer.

Apparently, she had decided that she wanted to marry Asher.

"Brother, Dad made me your fiance. All your objections are invalid."

She then jumped up from her chair and moved closer to Asher.

Rose kept watching.

She was about to hug him.
