Ch 9: Saved by the bell....Twice

Brrrrrrr

The bell went off, indicating that lunch break was over. That sharp sound broke Lisa's trance, and she quickly gathered her books to make her way out.

Her heart beat so loudly that it hurt.

However, Lisa somehow managed to make it back to her class alone.

'No one is looking at me. No eyes are looking at me right now. I need to calm down before class starts.'

The more Lisa convinced herself, the more she relaxed. Finally, once she was sure no one was looking at her, she raised her head and paid attention in class.

By now, the transfer student had already sat down beside Lisa. But she had not said anything to Lisa, making things even more unnerving.

After that, it took a lot of work to concentrate in class. People kept looking over at her table occasionally, and Lisa was their target of anger.

As soon as the day ended, Lisa bolted out of her seat to return home. She wanted to get out before the transfer student could catch her.

Unfortunately, her wish did not come true, and the transfer student caught up with her.

Emma Rose was not the only one waiting for Lisa to leave class. Lisa spotted Nice Lawrence, the other transfer student, waiting for her at the gate.

"Hey, I finally found you again. You still need to give me an answer for my confession and-"

Lisa walked past the male, acting like she had not heard him speak.

She felt the male transfer student reaching to grab her hand when Emma interfered and grabbed Nick's hand instead.

"She said that she does not want to date you! Why don't you understand and back off."

Emma's voice was loud and clear. It made a lot of people stop and look at them with worry. But Lisa was not one of them.

Unlike the mass, Lisa knew when she needed to escape. And she used this opportunity to make her exit.

Her instincts finally calmed out once Lisa was out of danger. She was far away from the school to know that she would not be followed.

And now that Lisa was finally alone, she debated whether she wanted to go home.

On one hand, that was the right thing to do. Lisa could not afford to spend another night outside like this. However, Lisa had no idea what would happen to her if she went home today.

Her mother was usually not in a good mood on the days she asked Lisa to remain out like this.

"Well, let's rip this band-aid off and be down with this. Mother will calm down once she takes her anger out on me."

Lisa was ready to head home. She talked herself into it, and Lisa was mentally prepared to face her mother.

However, she did not get to make that decision before someone grabbed her shoulder and pulled her into a nearby ally.

'Ouch! This hurts! Did I get grabbed by someone? Are these the people from yesterday? Shit! Should I do something about it?'

Lisa looked at the person who had grabbed her shoulder, her brain getting ready to think of an excuse to give the person opposite her.

But she did not see a pair of ragged people.

Instead, the one who dragged Lisa into this ally was a young, petite girl who looked a few years older than Lisa. The girl had beautiful, dyed-blue hair and brown eyes.

It was easy to say that this girl was attractive, but Lisa did not think dating was why she had been pulled into this ally.

"Excuse me, but can you let me go? I am sure you grabbed the wrong person."

Lisa tried to move from her position against the wall, but the blue-haired female did not let Lisa take a single step.

Flashing eyes looked at Lisa with something akin to hate, and Lisa's instincts made her dodge the incoming punch.

"Ouch! Shit! This hurts! Why the fuck would you dodge my attack like this? Just let me hit you once."

The female cursed as she continued to attack Lisa. But all her attempts were failures. The blue-haired female would never be able to hit Lisa at this rate.

'But that is not the problem here. I still have no idea why I am being attacked like this. What the hell did I do wrong?'

Lisa grabbed her incoming arm (just as she had seen the instructor do) before she grabbed her attacker's arm and twisting it behind her back and making her unable to move.

Once she had her target secured in her arms, Lisa finally caught her breath and asked the question she wanted to ask.

"Why are you attacking me? As far as I know, I did nothing wrong to you."

Lisa asked this question, but her words made the female she was holding down scoff in amusement.

"Phufff! You're so funny! You want to know what you did wrong? Everything! You ruined my life! You are the reason my boyfriend got killed! I am sure you infected him with your bad luck! It is all because of you."

The blue-haired girl sounded more unstable now. Her voice was starting to break down, and sobs were beginning to mix with it.

Lisa felt sorry for the female and realized who her attacker was.

"You! Are you the girl Kai cheated on me with? I don't know what you heard about me and what you think you are doing, but I already ended things with Kai two days ago. I have nothing to do with him-"

Because Lisa felt sorry for the female she held down, she loosened her grip slightly.

That turned out to be a mistake.

As soon as the blue-haired girl was free, she decided to attack Lisa with a small knife she kept on her person.

Lisa's attempt to talk to the blue-haired girl was futile, and the knife ended up cutting through Lisa's arm.

It was a shallow cut, but it still bleed. The wound hurt, but Lisa did not have time to pay attention to it because the knife-wielding female was charging at her again.
