Chapter 15 - Gabriel

Upon regaining consciousness, I felt something very soft on my head, something that surpassed even my pillow in my modern world. For the first time in a long time since I came to this world with the backward era, I was able to relax and feel comfortable, until I felt a soft hand caress my hair.

"Wait, wasn't I just in a battle with demons?" With that question, I gradually opened my eyes to come across that beautiful angel with blonde hair and lovely angel wings.

"So I'm already dead," I muttered to myself as I closed my eyes again and enjoyed the lap pillow of this beautiful angel. "Well, it's not that bad either." It was then that in order to feel more comfortable I tried to move my body only for a strong pain to run through my entire body, causing me to let out a grunt of pain.

"Are you okay?" Her beautiful voice was like music to my ears. Slowly getting up and avoiding letting out any more grunts of pain as much as possible, I pushed myself off the soft lap pillow and moved a little away from the beautiful angel.

"I'm sorry if your whole body hurts," the beautiful angel said in an apologetic tone. "My brothers and I tried to heal your wounds, but we only have enough holy energy to close your wounds." Turning my head towards the angels, I could see them bowing ninety degrees, causing me to quickly lower my head.

"Ugh, I don't feel good receiving apologies from entities that I literally worshipped along with God." When I mentioned God's name, I remembered the true goal of helping the angels. "If that demon, Bael, could understand me," I raised my head and stared at the group of angels. "They should understand me too."

I silently muted my vocal cords so I could speak human words again. Opening my mouth, I tried to say something, but the words wouldn't come out. 'I can't do it; For some reason, just thinking about being in front of God, generates tremendous fear in me,' I thought with such fear, that unconsciously my body began to tremble slightly.

'I know that God is a truly kind entity towards human beings, but being in front of God, being in front of the deity that I have worshipped all my life, in front of my creator, generates a deep fear in me.'

Clenching my jaw tightly, I gathered the courage to try to speak again: 'No, I must do it, I have to return to my world, I have to return to my family.' The moment I opened my jaw to speak, a white flash appeared in the sky and from it appeared more than a hundred angels.

"Gabriel-sama, reinforcements have arrived!", an angel with high-quality armor, and ten white wings shouted with all his strength. 'Shit,' the courage that he had managed to gather with great effort, vanished like an ice cube in a desert, before the enormous amount of angels.

'Sorry, mother, but your son is scared,' with that I turned around and got ready to run. 'Wait!' In an instant, the beautiful angel appeared in front of me. 'When did he come here?!' I thought in disbelief at his sudden appearance; my disbelief was so great that I didn't even notice when that beautiful angel grabbed my tail and started dragging me with ease, completely ignoring my weight that barely exceeded a ton or a thousand kilos in this mutation.

When I came back to reality, I was in the middle of some kind of ritual, where the angels who had just arrived had formed a huge circle; inside that circle were the injured angels forming another circle, and inside that circle were the beautiful angel and me.

"Even though you helped me, I still haven't told you my name," said the beautiful angel, making me stop looking at the kind of ritual the angels were forming and focus my attention on her. "I am Archangel Gabriel, one of the four Seraphim of God," when she finished her presentation, she opened her twelve wings and a beautiful smile appeared on her beautiful face.

When she finished her presentation, my mind went blank processing the information that had just been given to me. 'Archangel? Gabriel? Seraphim?' I thought, and a few seconds later, when my mind managed to process all the information, I ended up with my mouth open in surprise. 'She is one of the archangels of God?!' At that moment, a huge white circle appeared on the ground.

'Huh? Huh?!' I didn't even have time to react when the huge white circle activated, releasing a powerful white flash that forced me to close my eyes. "This is the thanks from my brothers and mine." When the flash became increasingly dim, I began to slowly open my eyes.

When I opened my eyes fully, I could see how the wounds of the beautiful angel or Gabriel disappeared in a matter of seconds; turning my head I could also see how the wounds of the other angels disappeared.

'That means,' turning my vision back to my body, I saw how the holes in my body were closed, and one of my front legs, which had disappeared due to the Bael Demon's attack, began to slowly regenerate until it was completely regenerated in a matter of seconds.

'What a tremendous healing power,' I thought as I looked down at my newly regenerated leg. 'With the axolotl's regeneration, it would have taken me at least two weeks to heal my wounds and regenerate my leg,' I looked up and focused my gaze on Gabriel to approach her.

"Is something wrong?" she asked when I was inches from her face. In response, I stuck out my tongue and licked her cheek. "Hahaha, are you saying thank you to me too?" Her laughter was as beautiful as the sound of the stream I heard when I came into this world.

'Is this what it feels like to be a cat?' I wondered after Gabriel's hands found their way into my mane and he began to caress my neck as if I were a cat. 'For a strong creature, you are very tender'; my legs became weaker when his hands went up to my head to scratch my ears, causing me to start letting out soft growls similar to a cat's purrs.

'I'm sure father will like to meet you', when those words left his mouth, all the pleasure in my body was replaced by fear, making my whole body stand on end. 'Meet his father? God?', those questions filled my mind so that a few seconds later I understood the meaning.

'She wasn't asking me, she, Gabriel, wants to take me to meet God', I slowly moved away from his hands before his bewildered look. 'Uh, did something happen?' In response to his question, I simply growled in warning towards his back. "Enemies?" she asked, quickly turning back, only to find nothing. "There's nothing... Huh?" When she turned around, she only saw me running at full speed in the opposite direction.

'Legs, what do I need them for!' With all the strength I could muster, I started running at full speed, aiming to get away from the angels. 'Huh?!' In just a second, a flash passed by me and a few meters away Gabriel appeared with his arms open, ready to stop my advance. "Wait, I just want my father to meet you," my body trembled again at the mention of meeting God.

'Forgive me, Gabriel,' with that thought, using my hind legs, I jumped towards her. Gabriel, seeing that, opened his hands wider to grab my huge figure, only for my body to change into a small mole that fell between his legs, disappearing into a small hole at the last minute. "Huh?"

...

I was digging like crazy for almost an hour; after all, Gabriel hadn't given up and even tried to catch me while I was underground. "Damn it!" I screamed loudly after I came out of the tunnel I had dug.

Groans

"If I was braver, I would probably already be in front of God asking him to send me to my world!" I screamed while kicking dirt.

Groans

"Even if I can fight demons, I'm still a coward," I muttered while clenching my small hands.

"Damn it, stop ignoring me!"

My whole body tensed up when I heard a loud scream; I quickly looked around for the owner of that scream. "Strange, I don't see anyone," I said while trying to focus my vision. "Ah, I forgot I'm a mole, hahaha," with that, my body changed into my human form.

"Stop talking to yourself and obey me!"

"Yeah, I'm coming, don't get mad," I unconsciously replied while scratching my head uncomfortably. "Come on, sir... You just answered me!" I yelled in astonishment, after my brain processed that I was talking to another being.

"That's right," I coughed. "I need your help, it doesn't matter if you're human, even you can help me," said that voice, but weaker than before. "Am I human?" I asked as I walked towards the owner of the voice, only to find a humanoid body with ten bat wings, equipped with high-grade armor with almost all of the upper part corroded, lying on the ground with blood coming out of the vents located at the part of its mouth.

"Sitri," I said standing a meter away, looking at the blue circle on the chest of his armor. "Oh? Do you know me, human?" the demon Sitri asked as he slowly moved his head to look at me. "If you know me, help me and I'll give you whatever you want," I stared at him silently as those words came out of his filthy mouth.

"How do you want me to help you?" I asked with emotionless eyes. "You see, look at that tree," he said turning his head towards a nearby tree where at its base was a small jar with a pointed red lid. "I need you to pass me that jar, that's all, easy, right?"

"What do you need it for?" I asked bluntly. "Is it something important?"

"That's right," he replied bluntly. "I had an intense fight where I was injured and poisoned," he said in a calm tone, as if it was no big deal. "That bottle has a content that will heal my wounds."

"And what will you do with the poison?" I asked as I walked towards the small bottle. "When my wounds are healed I will only go to the underworld to receive the antidote to this poison."

"Doesn't the poison hurt you?" I asked with the small bottle in my hand. "Of course not, I am a powerful demon," he said in a superior tone. "So, give me the bottle and I will give you whatever you want," an amused smile appeared on my face at his answer.

"Liar," I said in an amused tone. "The poison hurts you so much that you can't even think clearly, Sitri demon."

"What the fuck are you talking about, damn human?" In response, I grabbed his helmet and, mutating the muscles on my arm into those of a silverback gorilla, I yanked it off, showing his face in a horrible state due to the amount of poison in his body. "It's nothing, you disgusting demon," I said with a smile as my head changed into that snake's head.

"You, you are that damn snake!" he screamed as he tried to get up, only for him to fall to the ground without strength. "That's the place where demons should be"; a sinister smile appeared on my face as I began to stomp on his chest with my leg. "I had mercy on your friend, but with you I think I won't," with that my arm changed into a huge megatherium paw and crushed his head mercilessly, causing blood and brain juice to splash on my face.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

I'm back, people! Did you think I abandoned the novel? Unfortunately for you, I plan to finish the first volume completely. Leaving that aside, this chapter took longer than the previous ones because you don't make chapters that don't have combat, and I didn't have any inspiration or motivation, so I had to do it day by day, and I even thought about quitting after the chapter didn't save and I lost a part of the story… Forgetting that, I just published the prologue of my other story that is based on the Re:zero anime, so if you can read it and if you like it, leave your opinion in the comments; with that said, I'll see you in the next chapter, take care.
