"YOU HAVE to make a little sacrifice for our plan to work~"

Ki Gayoon let out a sigh, and then he nodded. "Fine. Tell President Cheol Kang he only has to pay half the original price of what they owe me for the reconstruction of the Blue House and the Namsan Tower."

"How about the Esper Training Facility that you destroyed?"

You asked me to destroy it, you bastard.

"Of course, I'll rebuild it for free," Gayoon said, sighing. And then he pulled out a brown envelope from his Inventory. "Here are the new contracts for the Blue House and Namsan Tower's reconstructions, as well as the contract for the Esper Training Center that my company will fix free of charge."

Gayoon handing those contracts to Moon Noa was the reason why the sly fox sent Noh Yuno away.

The punk doesn't have to know the deal that Moon Noa and I made.

To be honest, he was losing money here.

But it's a small price to pay for having a Guide who won't assault me in my sleep.

"Thank you, Esper Ki Gayoon," Moon Noa said cheerfully. "We can now proceed to the next stage of our plan."

"Is that really going to be enough for the greedy President Cheol Kang to let me have my exclusive Guide? Especially since Noh Yuno is an E-Class Guide."

"Don't worry about that part. It's my job to bait President Cheol Kang into biting our trap," Moon Noa said, grinning. "You should worry about making a deal with Yuyu, Esper Ki Gayoon. Of course, he'll agree to be your Guide since it's his duty to follow the government's order. But exclusive Guides are allowed to make a contract with their Espers."

"I can deal with that punk—"

Gayoon and Moon Noa's sensitive hearing caught the sound of something exploding.

It was followed by the release of a familiar Mana that they both knew all too well.

"Ryu Sungbin," Gayoon said through gritted teeth. "That bastard is calling us."

"IF I said I burned Moon Noa's superbike to ashes, what would you do?"

Yuno's neck hurt because he had to look up just to see Ryu Sungbin's face.

It was worth it, though.

Only handsome men can pull off mullet hairstyle, and I'll die on that hill.

"I don't have proof so I can't report you to the authorities," Yuno said to answer Ryu Sungbin's question earlier. "But I hope you grow a conscience and compensate my boss. Superbikes are expensive, you know?"

"Boring," Ryu Sungbin said indifferently. "You reaction is boring."

"Did you expect me to fight the #1 Esper in the country? I'm nothing but a mere Guide," Yuno said, and then he pointed at the thin layer of barrier around them. "If you didn't put this to protect me, I would have died if I got hit by the superbike's explosion."

"Then does it mean you owe me your life?"

"Don't push your luck, Esper Ryu Sungbin-nim. I said I don't have proof, but I know you're the one who burned my boss's superbike to ashes. Guides are Awakened People, too. I recognize your Mana lingering in the air."

"Now you're starting to look interesting," Ryu Sungbin said, giving Yuno a lazy and sexy smile. "Guide Noh Yuno, don't you find Ki Gayoon scary?"

"Esper Ki Gayoon-ssi is scary as hell."

"He's obnoxious, too, isn't he?"

"Absolutely."

"Then why don't you just become my Guide instead of becoming a Guide for that thug?"

A sudden "indecent" proposal from the #1 Esper in the country?

That was no-brainer.

"Thank you for the offer, but I refuse," Yuno said bluntly. "Esper Ki Gayoon is scary, obnoxious, and he definitely acts like a thug. But, at least, I know for a fact that he won't throw me away even if an S-Class Guide seduces him."

Unlike what you did to my boss when you let Guide Bambi seduce you.

He didn't say that thought out loud.

But judging by how Ryu Sungbin's face darkened while looking at Yuno as if he wanted to kill him, it was clear that the #1 Esper "heard" his thoughts.

"Watch your mouth, you little bastard."

"Are E-Class Guides that special for you to act arrogant with me?"

"I'm not being arrogant, sir. You're just hurt by something I didn't even say out loud."

Ryu Sungbin's red eyes glowed menacingly, and then he grabbed Yuno by the throat. "I want to know how you caught Ki Gayoon's attention when he's infamous for hating Guides," he said threateningly. "So, guide me before I snap your neck—"

A spear made of concrete suddenly emerged from the ground.

And then the weapon that came out of nowhere pierced through Ryu Sungbin's forearm, forcing the #1 Esper to quickly let go of Yuno's neck.

Oh, shit.

"Ryu Sungbin, I'll kill you if you touch my Guide again."

Yuno looked over his shoulder and saw Ki Gayoon walking leisurely towards them— his hands in his pockets. "Ahjuhyung, I'm not yours."

Not yet, at least.
