Leaving the next day felt easy, and Andrew wasn't as freaked out about the helicopter trip back. Maxwell was already busy working away on a laptop he'd secreted away when Andrew hadn't been looking, so Andrew got to spend the time travelling back to the house in his head.
It wasn't the worst thing. He got to look outside without being filled with anxiety. It was quite the beautiful view, and he got to know the pilot who was flying them back. He could tell that Maxwell was paying attention to them as they travelled, since he was smirking slightly as Andrew chatted away with the pilot. He just didn't participate in the conversation.
Andrew liked that. Knowing that Maxwell was there for him if he needed, but he wasn't going to step in unless Andrew needed, or wanted him to. He just hoped that Maxwell followed that mindset when it came to Andrew working at his company.
They hadn't gone through all the work to get him a fake identity for nothing, right?
