Story 321: The First Experiment

The chamber was a battlefield, the air alive with the clash of blades and the echoing hum of energy weapons. Zara moved with precision, her twin blades cutting through the air as she parried an attack from one of the cybernetic creatures. The others had already engaged the emerging threats, their weapons blazing in the dim, green-tinted light.

“Hold the line!” Zara shouted over the din, her voice firm despite the chaos.

Andre fired his rifle in controlled bursts, sparks flying as bullets ricocheted off the creatures' metallic skin. “They’re adapting! Regular rounds aren’t doing much!”

“Aim for the joints or the glyphs!” Zara called back, her keen eyes studying the movements of the creature in front of her. It fought with calculated precision, every strike aimed to disarm, not kill.
