It was huge, almost ten metres in height and thirty metres in length, bright room in which a cauldron stood on the left, and along the walls there were many cabinets with jars in which there were ingredients under the Stasis spell, and a little further, a large, empty space inscribed with runes specially prepared for especially dangerous experiments and rituals. 

Nagini herself did not experience much surprise from the view that opened up, nevertheless, she had already been in this place more than once when she bothered Snape so that he would rest more often. 

But, although the snake tried to behave as calmly as possible, she still felt wild excitement from the upcoming event, because of which, unconsciously, like an excited puppy, she wagged her tail, which caused a smile on the face of Severus 

"Get down and crawl there," leaning over and touching the floor with his hand, he allowed her to get off, and then pointed towards the empty area covered with runes, "If everything works out, you will most likely grow up, so immediately return to your normal size and curl up so that by chance you don't destroy one of the walls." 

"Good," nodding silently, she quickly crawled away in that direction, and the wizard went to the iron cabinet next to the cauldron and pointing at it with his finger, he depicted the "V" symbol with the help of the flame, which plunged into the cabinet and after a few seconds it opened. 

Severus took out two fruits from it, as well as a small, golden vial with a transparent liquid, at the sight of which, his smile became a little crooked. "Felix Felices", the one who invented it, pointed in the direction of Nagini, who was looking towards him excitedly.

"I can't do anything about it... it's just excitement..." 

"But what is this?" She tilted her head to the side, puzzled. 

"Liquid luck." 

"Liquid luck…?" 

"Yes, you will definitely succeed with this, so open your mouth," nodding, she opened it and Severus poured the contents into the open mouth, "Now close it," and as soon as Nagini did this, he noticed how her tail froze , and her eyes became brighter and a little "nasty" grinning, Severus stroked her "cheek" and kissed her "nose", from which she shuddered with her whole body and instantly retreated, while "filling" Snape's consciousness with waves of embarrassment, "I believe in you." 

In response, she nodded timidly, while inside believing in the miraculous potion and wondering where else you can get something like that and bending down, she opened her mouth again and as soon as the wizard put the fruit, she didn't move for a few seconds, but realising that there would be no continuation, she slightly rose with a bit of disappointment and having bitten it, her muzzle twisted, because it turned out to be too bitter and nasty, but still finding the strength in herself, she swallowed it and waited with an unpleasant aftertaste in her mouth ... Ten seconds passed, but there was no effect, twenty followed, thirty, forty, and finally a minute, but still without any effect, and after that the second went and a frustrated sigh escaped from her lips. "Nothing…" 

"Don't worry, we have another one," smiling softly, he tried to cheer her up and pulled the second fruit, from which the reptile looked displeasedly at the fruit, but still she lowered herself and opened her mouth. 

Severus put it down and stroked it, finally, he nodded confidently, looking into her eyes and she answered him in the same way, but she didn't bite the fruit, but immediately swallowed it.

'This time it will definitely work! I can become strong enough to no longer interfere and help him!' Nagini thought resolutely. 

'I don't want to be a burden anymore, I'll definitely succeed!' 

"According to the Black Hound, it should start working in a couple of tens of seconds …" Taking out his pocket watch, for greater certainty, Snape began to look first at the snake, then at the arrow, which had already overcome the first ten seconds. Severus didn't say anything or make any sounds at all, he just silently continued to watch so as not to distract her… Another ten seconds passed, but still it was the same... Fifteen seconds passed... And another fifteen... Snape already felt despondency slowly approaching his mind, like a tide, followed by sadness, after all, another twenty seconds had passed, but nothing Did not happen. 

Nagini slowly began to open her eyes, not daring to meet the gaze of the wizard, who spent such a valuable potion and these two fruits for her sake, which he could hardly find in that huge forest. "Sorry…" 

"Don't talk nonsense," smiling calmly, the Snape's body was seized by a gust of wind, and taking off from the ground, he flew up to her and began to gently stroke her "cheek," 

"The chance of evolution was very small, so it's not surprising that it didn't work, but we can always go back to that place and look for more, so don't worry about the potion too, I have a lot of money, I can even buy a hundred of these," but even after his words, she still looked very sad, "Stop being sad, in a few months we will visit that jungle again and find more fruits." 

"Uh-huh…"

Taking a deep breath, Severus decided to scan her body just in case, there was a lot of magic in these fruits and he had to make sure that it dissipated, but as soon as he used one of the analyzing spells on her, he froze and raised an eyebrow in surprise, he cast another spell, but the result was the same: "Why is this magic still in her body, it should have dissipated imperceptibly, like last time?" he asked himself in bewilderment, but after a few seconds, Severus noticed that this magic was in one place and did not move at all, as if something was restricting her, "Wait, really…?" 

"Did you just swallow it?" the Slytherin asked her.

"So I still have a chance …" Nagini muttered with relief in her voice, realizing that not everything was lost. 

"Yes, but you will have to live here for a while, otherwise if you start evolution earlier, I'm afraid that after that we will have to do repairs in the house." 

"Good," she nodded with a bit of embarrassment, already flooding the wizard's mind with positive emotions, which was much more pleasant than the past. 

"Don't worry, I'll stay with you until it happens." Hearing his words, she looked at him with surprise, and after that she felt warmth in her chest, because for her sake he was ready to cancel the meeting with that maniac. 

But still, the snake was well aware of his feelings for her and did not want to interfere with them in this way: "But, what about your date?"

"I'll think of something, I need to make sure for myself that your evolution will be successful," and he already had an idea how to be in two places at the same time, albeit with minor problems. 

"Sev…" At that moment, the wizard's consciousness flooded with tenderness and Nagini "swam" to him and began to rub against his cheek. "I love you too, but get ready." 

"For what?" She looked at him puzzled, but after a few seconds, she felt dizzy and had a headache, "Why does my head hurt so much ...?" 

"Did you think that such a "miracle" potion has no side effects?" grinning, he pointed his palm to the right and a large pillow appeared on the floor, on which he lowered her head, "Rest, while I'll work a little."

"Uh-huh…" After stroking her head for the last time, Severus headed towards the cauldron. "Today you have to work hard…"
