Chapter 75

[A few dayater.]

After going down to the basement, Severus approached the centre of the room, on which stood a silver pedestal, completely covered with red symbols, like the whole room, with a small depression in the centre. Silently taking out a transparent regular dark crystal the size of a human head from his purse and lifting it up with the help of magic, Severus led it to the recess and lowered it down ... after that, the crystal itself began to shimmer with iridescent radiance.

"Now the second stage…" cutting his palm, he squeezed it, and blood began to drip onto the crystal, which slowly began to change colour to scarlet, and Severus himself, closing his eyes, began to whisper something indistinct, but at the same time, with each new word, a radiance intensified.

The runes on the wall flashed, and the radiance began to spread like a "wave" along the writings on the walls, and then flow to those outside the room.

At the same time, huge flows of magic from the air began to be absorbed by the house at an incredible speed.

There was so much magic that even Nagini, who was outside the territory of the mansion with the houses, could clearly see it - these were wild air currents that could easily demolish the house, but did not affect it in any way.

And if Severus hadn't put up a barrier in advance, then in a few minutes a huge number of wizards and Muggles would have fled from such a "show". It's like a huge tornado, the epicenter of which was the house ...

Watching this, the snake could not help but worry about Snape, but she believed in him and tried not to think about the bad, after all, she clearly felt his calmness through their connection.

Therefore, she herself did not panic, but simply waited…

After some time in the basement, Severus removed his hand from the crystal and, with a tired sigh, looked at everything with a satisfied smile. "Everything turned out to be easier than I thought, and now…" shifting his gaze to his surroundings, he raised his hands and began to spread them to the sides, and at the same moment the walls around him began to part, and after a few seconds the room which was forty square metres increased to three hundred.

"House as an artefact", I never thought that someday I will use it ... "House as an artefact" could not be attributed to runology, artefacts, potions or enchantments alone."

This is magic that combines all four directions. A work of art created by one "Great Archmage" millennia ago. She was able to make a real artefact out of the house, which can protect itself, hide and attack intruders. From the inside, it can be changed as you like, with the exception of furniture, which he could not create and which still has to be bought. It absorbs magic for his work from the air, but still, Severus was going to create ten more crystals in the storage, just in case, because it is not known what might happen in the future.

After his rebirth, he became much more careful and did not want to lose his life due to some accident, because if he is attacked and the magic around the house is limited, and the enemy is very strong or there are too many enemies, he will always have a reserve to fight them off and leave the attack zone.

After he returned the room to its original size, Severus began to change the interior of the house itself, changing the tones to lighter ones, this was not so difficult, and did not require much magic.

This is not illusion magic, but transformation, which is one level lower than transfiguration, because it acted according to one of the principles of alchemy - "equivalent exchange", but even in this case it is very useful magic.

Although he cannot make items out of nothing, in such cases, the transformation is much more effective.

Ten minutes later, having finally finished with the interior, he left the building, where he was met by the house-elves and Nagini. " Almost everything is ready, I propose to go for furniture and move here completely, what do you think?" Severus looked at Nagini with a smile, holding out his hand, along which she quickly crawled.

"Why are you asking me this? Let's go if you want ," she calmly answered him, pressing her cheek against his.

"Who else should I ask, them?" He pointed to the house elves. "They do not care. This, I think, is clear. Okay, let's go already, I'll show you everything from the inside."

"Yes!" She nodded her head, looking excited.

For the next two days, they settled into their new home. Severus moved all the things from the store, and also bought furniture yesterday, mostly from the Muggle world, because it looks much nicer compared to those old-fashioned horror from Diagon Alley, although the beds, pillows, bedding and kitchen utensils in the world of magic were much better.

And Snape himself cast spells on everything, so there was no difference at all. In addition, Severus also visited the Malfoys yesterday in the evening and met Lucius's father, who was quite talkative and kept offering him to sell them potion recipes, while promising big money. But Severus still refused him, referring to the fact that he had agreed with the Ministry, and only they and he himself would be able to sell them.

And as Snape realised after the meeting from the words of the Slytherin, it was his father's idea to invite him, just to see that young man who made a huge fortune in a short time.

Trying to buy back the recipe was just a simple probing, because if it worked, the old Malfoy would not mind signing the same agreement as with the Ministry: the potions brought huge profits, especially in this turbulent time.

In general, there was nothing special in this meeting, apart from the fact that he removed the slave seals from two more Death Eaters close to Lucius, and got to know the Malfoy family better. And after the meeting he knew that the son completely went to his father, but the difference was that the father was more cunning and better concealed his emotions and thoughts behind a façade of indifference.

[Scene Change]

The very next day, while in the forge with a huge furnace and anvils, Severus looked with interest at the dark leather armour with metal shoulder pads, bracers, boots and belt, as well as patterns on the edges of the cloak and on the chest, while barely holding back a satisfied smile, because it was even better than on the drawing.

"Goblins do have great taste."

The elderly goblin himself, seeing the contented physiognomy of the man, lifted his chin proudly. "One of my best works."

"Honestly, I'm surprised. I thought it would be much worse, but everything is just perfect," running his hand over the patterns on the shoulder pads, Severus nodded, touching the pocket on his chest, and the next moment a metre of Basilisk skin appeared on the floor, at the sight of which, the eyes of the blacksmith and other goblins lit up, because the skin of the "King of Snakes" is very rare, and you can even say that there is nowhere to get it at all, and it appears on the markets every ten years, or even decades, that also in small pieces and in poor quality.

"Don't underestimate goblins! We are the best artisans! No human can compare with us!" The head goblin said this in a very serious tone with hints of pride, while kneeling, drooling and almost licking the skin.

'This picture looked too contradictory. Of course, but did I deny something?' Putting the armour back in his purse, he turned his gaze back to the blacksmith.

"If I need anything else, can I contact you?"

"Certainly. But not for free. What did you think?" Gathering the skin into a roll, the blacksmith carefully transferred it to the chest, standing next to the largest furnace.

"That's exactly what I thought. Well, thanks for the great work. Severus Snape" Smiling, Severus held out his hand.

" I look forward to my next order. Gobrari." The goblin introduced himself, also grinning in response, shaking the outstretched palm.

'You're just waiting for my Galleons, you damn goblin…' Of course, he didn't voice his thoughts aloud, but everything was clear from the look. And as soon as Severus left the room, the blacksmith turned his thoughtful gaze to the chest, and then, going up to the wall, touched it, and a magic circle lit up around his hand.

"This skin is identical to that one, although he tried to spoil it a little, but I am sure that it was only recently removed from a living Basilisk," stroking his beard, the goblin said confidently. ,I think so too, you shouldn't take rash actions, what if he's not alone, but with a group….."

"Yes, I understood, I didn't see anything…" the blacksmith bared his teeth, because he was already eager to start processing the skin, and the behind-the-scenes affairs of the elders and the main goblin did not bother him much ...

After leaving Gringotts, Severus immediately moved home in order to quickly cast spells and apply runes to the armour.

But before he was ten feets away from the door, he heard the sound of flapping wings, and turning around, he saw an owl with a pattern on its beak.

The owl belonged to Malfoy.

"What else does he need? It seems that everything was discussed only yesterday…" landing on Snape's shoulder, the owl happily rubbed herself against the wizard's cheek, and then raised her paw, on which a small red box was attached.

"Hm?" tilting his head to the side in bewilderment, Severus first checked it, and then opened it anyway and, to his surprise, saw a ring with a rather powerful mind protection charm, as well as an engraved moon in a black gem. "Um… and what should I think of this?"
