[73] Hunting!

"Seems like the demon form from Devil May Cry 5 won't be awakening anytime soon, but at least there's some hope with this Tempest." Aiden sighed, shaking his head.

"Wait a minute, did I forget something? Devil May Cry 5? What's in Devil May Cry 5?" Aiden pondered, rubbing his smooth chin.

"Oh, I remember now! Air Hike, Vergil Hair, and Magnetic Back!" Aiden clapped his hands together, suddenly excited.

"Air Hike creates a magical circle in mid-air to jump from, while Magnetic Back essentially uses magic to magnetically attach weapons to your back. And now that my magic has awakened, does that mean..."

Aiden closed his eyes, feeling the magic within him, then leaped into the air. At the peak of his jump, he sensed the magic in his legs and, almost instinctively, a complex and ornate blue magical circle appeared beneath his feet.

Using the magical circle as a foothold, Aiden leaped once again.

Unlike in the game, the magical circles summoned by Air Hike had no limit in quantity or cooldown. As long as there was enough magic, it was like Dante, that crafty old man, could just stomp on these circles and fly out of the atmosphere. But Dante, when he transforms into a true demon, flies, so he wouldn't need to use this method.

However, for Aiden, as he was now, Air Hike, at most, was limited to a triple jump.

The ability to materialize magic into tangible footholds consumed too much. Aiden felt more exhausted than after using Firestorm dozens of times consecutively.

Descending from the air, Aiden pondered the practicality of Air Hike at this stage. "Seems like the magic consumption is still too high, huh? If only I could learn how Shinigami uses Reishi, I could stand in the air using magic instead of Reishi, making even flying a basic maneuver. But who knows how long it'll take to learn that skill, and I might not even end up in Bleach by then. Besides, by the time that happens, I might have grown wings myself."

"Ah, but learning Air Hike is still a good thing, even if it's not practical right now. It's like checking off a wish list. I'll use it when my magic is abundant. Alright, next up is Vergil Hair." Aiden could only hope for the best.

Aiden imitated Vergil's mannerisms, flipping his bangs and then using a bit of magic to hold them in place. "I need more power!"

"Lastly, there's Magnetic Back~" Aiden snapping off a twig and placing it on his back. Although there was nothing to hang it on, the twig remained securely fixed to his back.

"Ah, it's the Sparda family's inherited Magnetic Back indeed. Talk about efficiency! The magic consumption is practically negligible. No wonder Nero, Dante, and Vergil from the game all just hang their weapons on their backs." Aiden began to run and jump around casually. No matter how much he moved, no matter how exaggerated his movements were, the twig remained firmly fixed on his back, not even his bangs falling out of place.

"Haha, just as expected. As long as I don't actively dispel the magic, or encounter water, my bangs won't come loose." Aiden chuckled lightly, letting his bangs fall back into place.

"Aiden-kun, dinner's ready~" Hestia's crisp and pleasant voice echoed from inside the house.

"Alright, I'm coming in." Hearing Hestia's call, Aiden tossed the twig into the trash and turned back to the house. For a foodie like him, no matter how big the world was, mealtime was the most important.

"Goodnight, Hestia." Shortly after dinner, seeing the lights in Hestia's room go out, Aiden waited for a while before grabbing his supplies and preparing for an intense and thrilling night in the dungeon.

After gaining two powerful magics, Aiden had finally become a bit conceited. So, instead of donning his armor, he changed into the traditional cloak of the Sparda family, with Durandal and Dragon Slayer crossed and hanging from the inherited Magnetic Back.

"As the night unfurls, neither can I rest." Swirling his cloak provocatively, Aiden stepped into the streets.

The moonlight fell on Aiden, dressed in all black, as if adorning him with a silver veil, strolling through the nighttime Orario. With the moon and stars shining faintly, the scattered stars seemed to be embedded in the deep blue night sky like pearls.

A gentle breeze brushed his face, bringing a refreshing coolness. As Aiden saw the towering Babel in the distance growing larger before his eyes, a smile tugged at his lips, and he quickened his pace.

Rushing into the dungeon, Aiden leaped into the air after pressing down on the handrail of the spiral staircase, jumping straight in.

Cutting through the air, with a solid thud upon landing, Aiden felt the reassuring sensation beneath his feet as he arrived at the first floor of the dungeon.

The dungeon at night didn't look much different from during the day. The entire view was dominated by walls and ceilings dyed deep blue by glowing moss. The natural labyrinth, with no sky in sight, stretched endlessly in all directions. Only there were a few more monsters and a few less adventurers. As night fell, the monsters seemed to be stimulated somehow, becoming even more ferocious, with a more frequent respawn rate.

"Tonight, Aiden Sparda joins the hunt."

In the wide corridor ahead, several goblins were diligently patrolling with their clubs in hand.

"Hey, sons of a bitch, come over here, I'm right here." Unfortunately, it seemed these goblins were all blind, so Aiden could only whistle and taunt them.

"Awoo-rua awoo-rua!" The goblins finally noticed Aiden, letting out unpleasant howls as they charged at him with their clubs raised.

Facing the onslaught of goblins, Aiden crossed his arms and waited for them to come. With a smile on his face, he said, "So eager, huh? Do you want to dance with me? But you're too short and too stinky for that, aren't you?"

A few seconds later.

Facing a goblin just two meters away, Aiden's smile didn't falter. "If it were a fair-skinned, beautiful lady with all the right curves, I might consider it. But, to reciprocate your enthusiasm, let me show you my enthusiasm as well~"

"Firestorm."

The crimson flames illuminated this corridor of the first floor.

A whirlwind of fire materialized in front of Aiden and then rushed forward with a roar.

As it hit the goblins, the storm stopped moving and began to spin in place.

"Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah!" The goblins let out agonizing screams.

Until the flames dissipated.

"...Ah... Ah."

The raging wind tore through the goblins' bodies, and the scorching flames turned them into charcoal, leaving only one lucky goblin still alive, rolling its eyes and collapsing on the ground. Finally, only the echoes of painful cries lingered in the dungeon corridor.
