I Protect the City

The world was peaceful in the surface. The nation was progressing and the people seems happy about it. On the other side it was twisted, mad and rotting.

Cain was the yougest son of a famous assasin clan.  He rarely talked to his brother and to his father for a very simple reason, they didn't like him. He didn't exert and effort be be like.

Since he was kid his brother usually tease him for having a weak body. Minsan pag hindi niya nasusunod ang mga gusto nila they will beaten him physically and mentally. Hindi niya alam kung talaga bang nag aalala sila sa kaniya o trip lang nilang pahirapan ang buhay niya. When he can't handle his brother beating and harsh word he stop seeing them. He stop training like he admit defeat the he is weak. He don't feel sorry to it.

It's accepting that he will not fit in. He tried his best and it doesn't work.

Dahil diyan pati ang lolo at papa niya ay iba na ang turing sa kaniya. Mss naging malamig sila hindi niya alam kung may pakialam pa ba ang dalawa sa  siguro ay wala na. When his brother almost beaten him to death they did't visit him in the hospital like didn't care.

That really hurt him. He feel alone and isolated. Wala siyang masasandalan once he have a problem. This experience taught Cain the value of smiling. Smile even it hurts, smile even he felt helpless. He is already ugly only smiling will not make him more ugly.

Cain really hate this family he have no choice but to stay to it. He is not hot headded like his brothers. He prefer a peaceful life away from bloody fight and killing  people. Nagmana nga siguro siya sa kaniyang mama. Nung nabubuhay pa ang  mama niya subrang bait daw nito at malambing sa mga kuya niya.

Kaya din siguro mainit ang dugo ng mga kapatid at papa niya sa kaniya dahil siya ang naging dahilan kung bakit namatay ang kaniyang mama. Namatay daw ito sa pag anak sa kaniya. Kaya din siguro ayaw ng mga pamilya niya sa kaniya dahil sa mukha niya, pangit kasi siya.

Hindi siya physically attractive like his brothers. To hide his face he wear a white mask.

Hindi makatulog si Cain kaya lumabas siya sa kaniyang silid. His head are like a burning pot.

Tahimik sa madilim na pasilyo. Ihip ng sariwang hangin lang ang madidinig.  Hindi na kailangan ni Cain ng flashlight para makakita sa dilim. Nasa genes na nila ang malinaw na paningin. Since he was raised in a assasin family norms na sa pamilya nila na dapat kahit saan sila magpunta dala nila palagi ang kanilang sandata, kahit sa pagtulog.

Cain like to go out pero sa gabi niya lang payapang nagagawa 'yun. Mas gugustuhin niyang manatili sa kwarto niya sa umaga ayaw niya kasing makita siya ng kaniyang mga kuya. Imbes kasi na protektahan nila siya dahil siya ang bunso sila pa ang nanakit sa kaniya. And they are not doing it lighly, magkakapasa talaga siya at magkasugat-sugat after.

Pg sinumbong niya sa mga butler ang  ginawa ng  mga kuya niya ng walang malalim na dahilan the'll will not care about his rants. They'll just apply first aid to him ignoring his feeling. Cain can only smile.

Nakarating si Cain sa training ground nasa likod ito ng manor nila. As usual wala nang nagsasanay dito. The ground have stain of blood, malansa ang amoy dito. Ang mga tao sa malaking bahay na ito ay nasanay na, this is a life of an assasin. In order to survive in the hunting ground assasin have to adapt their senses to this. Bawal mag inarte at umangal.

Cain don't like this kind of life. Kung may choice lang siya he want to live outside this manor and start  a new life far far away. Right now it is just a unreachable dream. Ang manor nila is situated in the deep of the forest may mga cctv camera everywhere. Kung tangkain niyang tumakas bago pa man siya makaabot sa highway his father's underdog will not show mercy in capturing him.

"Sir Cain," someone called him from behind. Lumingon si Cain sa pinanggalingan ng boses. He see a mascular man with a serious expression wearing a black suite and a trauser. Most of this man is black. It's one of the butller in their family.

He is  not sure if this is Richard one of the their physical and combat trainer.

"May bumabagabag ba sa'yo Sir Cain?"

Kumonot ang noo ni Cain. Mukha ba? Hindi niya alam basta dinala lang siya ng kaniyang mga paa dito.

"Paano mo naman nasabing ganu'n nga?" nahihiya niyang sambit. He want to run from this people because they make him uncomfortable pero ayaw niya namang ipahiya ang pamilya nila especially ang papa niya for being weak and easy to intimadate.

"Dahil sa mga pinagdaanan ko. Madali na sa 'kin basahin ang emosyon ng isang tao sa pamamagitan lang ng ekspresiyon nila at body language. Hindi payapa ang iyong paghinga at ang layo ng tingin mo. 'Yun ang naging basehan ko."

Since tama naman si Richard hindi na siya nagtapang tapangan. Kahit butler lang si Richard Cain feel that he is far superior to him. He's not sure if they fight may pag asa ba siyang manalo sa veteran butler na 'to.

"Akala ko the moment I skipped the training papa will not send me to assasinate criminals. I thought that he will accept that I don't want to stain my hands with blood but I am wrong." Cain try not to cry he is very soft hearted. He just smile.

Isang boung linggo niya na ring dinidibdib ang bagay na 'to. After his birthday his papa wanted to talked to him in the office. He was confuse, reluctant to follow and scared to talked to his papa. Since it's an order he accept.

His papa wants him to accomplished his first hunt.

That time he really want to rebute but his father's nonchalant expression and stern look makes him scared to explain that he don't want to become an assasin.

Kahit papano ay gumaan ang loob ni Cain sa pagsabi ng nararamdaman niya sa kay Richard.

"To be honest I'm not sure if I am ready for the hunt. For past years I've been slacking off in my training. I'm not that equip with the skill and knowledge to fight dangerous criminals. I feel like my father is sending me to my death. Does he really care for me Richard? May tao ba sa malaking bahay na 'to ang nag aalala para sa 'kin? Is  it my fault na namatay ang mama ko? If I have a choice mas gugustuhin ko pang ako na lang  ang namatay. I don't want this life. I want to be free but it's not in my choie."

"Sir Cain it's really hard to break a tradition. If you become more stronger you will have more uppurtunity to change your life."

"You're right I hope that will happen."

"If you really wanted to leave this family you have to pay a greater service for it. Maybe if you accomplished a Rank S  mission your father will consider your will to live peacefully."

Cain smiled bitterly. Naisip niya din 'yan. "It's easy to say than done."

"Nothng is impossible when you believe, like your mother."

"Huh what about her?"

Richard capture most of his interest.

"Your father tasked me to say this to you. He wants to said this to you personally but he has important meetng to attend too."

"Ano 'yun Richard?"

'It's a secret that was hide from you since birth."
