Chapter 187: The Origin of the Mission

"Of course," William continued looking at the information in his hand and said, "Don't forget what I do. Although I don't have an exact position, my authority is still quite high. England's special forces may have declined, but they haven't been destroyed. I can still find out what I want to know. Why don't I just help you take out that rat Monroe? That would save us both some trouble."

"No, we want more than just taking out Monroe. Since you know, you should understand what my superiors are thinking. They won't give up on Belena Island. The annual income they used to get from Belena Island was substantial, many times more than the five million dollars I blackened."

"Haha, your superiors all deserve to die. They're no different from those flour dealers; they all should go see Satan," William growled angrily.

The church shrugged. "What's the use of being angry with me? Otherwise, I wouldn't be thinking about saving some retirement money. Who knows when I'll be retired. William, it's that simple. I'm a special agent, not a cop. Maybe I should retire like Brian Mills and live a peaceful life."

William looked at the dispirited old man in front of him, thinking that he and Brian were different. Brian was just an executor, not deeply involved. This guy, on the other hand, was a planner and behind-the-scenes operator. Wanting to quit wouldn't be so easy. He might be silenced when he really retires.

Flipping through the files, William suddenly saw a person he had been thinking about and took out a photo. "Jetfro, this fake Albanian general, why isn't he dead yet? Is he going to Belena Island soon?"

"Haha, I knew you'd be interested in Jetfro, but unfortunately, he recently returned to South Africa. There's news of a 60-carat pink diamond appearing in South Africa. One of his underlings, a little guy named Danny, seems to know something. So, Jetfro went back to South Africa a few days ago."

"A 60-carat pink diamond? That would rank in the top five."

The church uncertainly said, "Maybe. If it has flawless clarity, it could auction for thirty million dollars. So, Jetfro rushed back to South Africa upon hearing this news. His top lieutenant is coming to Belena Island."

William rubbed his chin. "So, Jetfro is going against your superiors? Should we team up to take him out? You provide people and intelligence, and I'll provide the money to eliminate him?"

"Haha, do we look like we lack money?" The church said unmoved, "If it were that easy to take out Jetfro, we and your England Special Forces would have done it long ago. And I don't believe you haven't tried to kill him."

Hearing this, William nodded gloomily. "I didn't expect this guy to be so powerful. I spent over ten million dollars hiring several groups of mercenaries to kill him, but they couldn't even get close. They only managed to kill some of his underlings and a few mercenary captains."

"Hehe, at least your money wasn't wasted if you killed some of his men. I heard that Jetfro was in a critical situation in Albania recently, losing many men. I didn't realize it was you. But unfortunately, it seems he stabilized the situation with the help of an arms dealer named Stonebanks. Now, Jetfro has recruited thousands of new underlings in South Africa and Albania. How many people do you want me to send to kill him? And this guy is in South Africa, his main base, with a whole structured mercenary regiment specializing in fighting wars. We don't have that many people to waste, and I don't want to deal with flour-related matters. Let my superiors handle that headache."

"Hmm, it'd be best if your superiors went to see Satan with Monroe and Jetfro." William thought it was unlikely, at least until the church's superiors retired. But he'd be happy to take out Monroe and Jetfro.

"Alright, I'll handle this task. Once it's done, we're even," William stared into the church's eyes.

"Haha, no problem. Once the task is completed, we're even. You be your tycoon, and I'll be my NYPD officer John McClane," the church chuckled.

William asked in shock, "Damn, how many names and identities do you have?"

The church counted on his fingers. "Special agent Frank Moses, alias Church. Cover identity NYPD officer John McClane. Hmm," the church suddenly stopped. "Sorry, I can't tell you the rest. It's not good for you to know."

William rolled his eyes. "Alright, I don't want to know your other identities now. Knowing would just be trouble. You can leave now, Church. I don't want to see you. I'll notify you when the task is done."

"Haha, no problem. I'm leaving now, buddy. Remember to take out all the flour dealers on Belena Island. Thanks."

"Do I need you to tell me? If your superiors are there, I might take them out too," William urged.

"Haha, I don't want to die yet. If that were the case, I don't think you'd dare. Goodbye, William. I'm off to enjoy some time with my wife. Good luck." The church stood up, adjusted his suit, and teased William a bit before leaving.

Watching the departing church, William wondered if he dared to do it. Well, he didn't know himself. Forget it; it's not his business. Let those who should handle it do it.

Having figured it out, William snapped his fingers. Butler Jessie immediately stood up and walked over. "Mr. Devonshire, do you have any instructions?"

"I'm hungry. Get me some local specialties. After the meal, I'd like to go for a walk. Any recommendations?"

"Yes, sir. Please wait a moment." Jessie spoke with the maid behind him and then turned back. "You could visit Cirque du Soleil. They have several shows that have been running in Las Vegas for nearly 20 years, with almost 700 performances. If you're interested in something special, you could see..."

"No need," William interrupted, wanting to see but not daring. "Tell me about something else."

"How about a magic show or a comedy show?"

"Why not mention the gambling places?" William asked curiously.

Jessie smiled. "Sir, I'm your exclusive butler now. Naturally, I wouldn't recommend gambling. But if you want to play poker with friends, I suggest Texas Hold'em."

'Haha, playing Texas Hold'em is like giving money to yourself,' William thought. Just then, two maids came over with trays. Jessie smiled and set the table. "Please enjoy, Mr. Devonshire."

"Thank you, Jessie. I'm very satisfied with your service. Would you like to join me?"

"Sorry, Mr. Devonshire. You know," Jessie pointed at herself.

William laughed. The beauty had to diet, so he'd enjoy the food alone.

After a half-hour midnight snack, William was very satisfied. Led by Jessie, he walked into the gambling area. As soon as he entered, he heard exclamations from a dice table.
