"His bodyguard doesn't look like a good guy. Don't worry, I won't let the lady get hurt," Happy said in a low voice to Stark as he kept a close eye on the young man lounging on the sofa, looking around the lobby of Stark Group's first floor.
"He's out. I'll report back to you later." Seeing Pepper and Killian coming out of the conference room, Happy quickly hung up the phone, tidied up his clothes, and approached them.
"Happy, Happy," Tony muttered helplessly, looking at the disconnected call.
"Your bodyguard is very dedicated," Daniel Davis naturally heard Happy's words, but he didn't pay much attention at the moment.
"I'm heading back." Seeing Stark's somewhat awkward smile, Daniel waved his hand and left.
"The world of the Frost Giants and the world of the Dark Elves can be visited, but there doesn't seem to be anything I need there."
Back at his villa, Daniel began to organize the gains from this trip. He had learned illusion magic from Frigga and obtained the coordinates of five planets. However, besides the Void and Xandar, the other three were not very useful.
First of all, he couldn't just go to Asgard randomly. If discovered that he appeared in Asgard without permission, any previous goodwill would definitely be erased.
Similarly, the worlds of the Frost Giants and the Dark Elves were also off-limits. With Heimdall around, he didn't think he could go there undetected.
These actions could not be taken before Odin's death.
"The illusion magic is pretty good, but it's a pity I didn't get Loki's disguise magic." If he had Loki's disguise magic, he wouldn't need to keep changing into the Ant-Man suit.
"Robin seems to be obsessed with traveling. She's still in China, never mind." Since Robin wasn't in a hurry to come over, Daniel didn't have any intention of rushing her.
"Why is she here? She didn't contact me beforehand." Just after hanging up Robin's call, Red Queen sent a message that Ada was here.
This made Daniel nervous. After taking several deep breaths, he walked out.
"Who are you?" Upon seeing the person who claimed to be Ada, Daniel frowned. The person looked exactly like Ada and wore similar clothes, but Daniel knew at a glance that this person was not Ada.
The aura was different. This person had a completely different aura from Ada. While most people might not notice the difference, Daniel immediately saw it and confirmed it with his observation haki.
"What, pretending not to know me now?" The person's eyes showed a hint of surprise at Daniel's words, but quickly returned to calm.
"It's not pretending not to know; I really don't know you. And don't use Ada's tone. Don't you know it makes the differences between you more obvious?" Daniel waved his hand and sat down opposite the person.
Daniel had already guessed who she was—Carla Radames, the fake Ada from Resident Evil 6.
"Are you so sure?" Carla asked in a surprised tone.
"Of course, your appearances are identical, but your auras are vastly different."
"Hmph." Carla snorted, dissatisfied with Daniel's words.
"Enough. I don't care who you are. Leave now." Daniel pointed to the door and spoke calmly.
"I want to see Ada. Call her immediately," Carla demanded, pulling out a gun and pointing it at Daniel.
"Alright, leave now, or I'll call the police." Daniel waved his right hand, using the Ope-Ope Fruit to take the gun from her.
"What is this?" Carla's expression changed at the strange sight.
"Can you leave now?" The gun in Daniel's hand instantly turned into parts, an application of alchemy.
Seeing this, Carla snorted coldly, glared at Daniel as if trying to remember him, then turned and left.
"This is a troublesome matter. Better let Ada handle it herself." After all, it was Ada's clone. Daniel didn't want to overstep.
"What brings you here?" As the communication connected, the real Ada appeared.
"Indeed, there's a big difference." With the real Ada appearing, the difference between her and Carla became even more apparent.
"Someone came to find me. I think you should take a look." Daniel sent the footage of Carla's appearance to Ada.
"Someone came to find you?" Ada's voice stopped abruptly.
"What's going on?"
"I don't know. I think it's related to you. She left not long ago. Do you want me to catch her?"
"No need. I already guessed what's going on. I'll handle it now." Ada said and hung up.
"Should I explore new worlds?" After Ada went to deal with Carla, Daniel started considering whether to continue exploring dimensional spaces.
The battle with the Cursed Warrior made Daniel realize that he was already very strong, but there was still a significant gap compared to top-tier powerhouses. Even becoming a Four Emperors in the Pirate World wouldn't change that.
Just as Daniel was pondering, he suddenly received a call from Stark.
"It's strange to get a call at this hour." It was seven in the evening, the beginning of nightlife.
"Come immediately. Happy is injured." Before Daniel could speak, Stark's anxious voice and a private hospital address came through.
"I understand." Daniel hung up and immediately used teleportation to arrive at the private hospital. He found Stark and Pepper anxiously waiting outside a brightly lit operating room.
"What happened? How did Happy get injured?" Daniel asked directly.
"It was a terrorist attack." Stark pulled out his phone and showed the latest news about a bomb attack in a theater square, causing many casualties.
"The Ten Rings? That name sounds familiar." Seeing the bearded man in the news, who gave a lecture to the U.S. President, smashed cookies, and shot hostages, Daniel immediately recalled the Extremis Virus incident.
"That's who Killian is." Remembering the Extremis Virus, Daniel instantly knew who Killian was.
"This guy made quite a few videos." Daniel quickly found out from the internet that the man named Mandarin was a notorious terrorist causing significant trouble for the USA. The President had ordered the Iron Patriot to hunt him down.
The Iron Patriot was just War Machine with a new paint job, a fact often joked about in online shows.
"I'm sorry." The operating room light changed, and a tired-looking doctor came out, shaking his head at Stark and Pepper.
This result made them very sad, and they hugged each other.
"That can't be right. I remember Happy didn't die in the original story. Did my presence cause a butterfly effect?" Daniel walked into the operating room and stopped the doctors from pushing Happy out.
"Tony, have them leave," Daniel said, pushing Happy back into the operating room. The doctors and nurses were about to say something but were promptly driven away by Stark.
This was a private hospital catering to the wealthy, and Stark was among the wealthiest, so the doctors and nurses didn't want to provoke him.
"How is he?" Stark asked anxiously, looking at the heavily injured Happy.
"Don't worry, he won't die." Daniel placed his left hand on Happy, activating the Philosopher's Stone. Although the doctors' diagnosis was correct, the Philosopher's Stone was a miraculous object.
Under its power, Happy's life quickly revived. Daniel then used the Ope-Ope Fruit to swiftly remove various fragments from Happy's body, primarily shards of glass.
Happy's death was due to a shard piercing his heart, a fatal injury even for Doctor Strange.
"Alright, he just needs to rest now." Daniel didn't fully heal Happy, only stabilizing his condition and restoring consciousness before stopping.
"Happy, what happened? Why were you at the Chinese Theater?" Seeing Happy awake, Stark quickly asked.
"Boss, why are you here?" Happy was surprised to see Stark.
"Never mind me. What happened? Think carefully."
"I was following Killian's bodyguard, Savin. I saw him making some sort of deal with a homeless man. I approached to check, then fought with Savin. His face looked strange, and he could change colors. Suddenly, there was an explosion. I think I saw someone walking away from the blast."
Happy stared at the ceiling, recounting his experience.
"So, you didn't see what happened." While Happy provided details, they didn't help solve the case since he was also caught off guard.
However, he did offer a crucial clue: Killian.
"Get some rest. Pepper, take care of him." Stark left the operating room, letting Pepper handle the follow-up.
Despite being declared dead by doctors, Happy's recovery, while surprising, was quickly smoothed over by Pepper in the private hospital.
"Mr. Stark, what are you going to do about this terrorist attack?" Stark was immediately surrounded by reporters as he left the hospital.
For these reporters, big news was all that mattered.
"You want to know? Fine, I'll tell you. This is personal. Mandarin is dead. I'll find and kill him." Furious about Happy's ordeal and provoked by the reporters, Stark grabbed a microphone and announced loudly, "I'm not afraid of you, Mandarin. You're a coward. My address is Malibu Street."
Stark then recited several numbers, the address of his seaside villa, and threw the microphone away, daring the reporter to sue him.
Then Stark drove off in his sports car.
"Tony." Pepper, watching the live broadcast in the hospital, hurried to speed up Happy's arrangements.
"Provoking a terrorist. I'd better go over." In the USA, terrorists were very bold.
In China, getting a few small guns was considered a big deal, but here, armed helicopters and missiles were no problem.
"Do you have any intel on Mandarin?" Tony, after driving off,
went to see Colonel James Rhodes instead of heading home.
"That's classified. Stay out of this. Since the Battle of New York, public trust in the government has plummeted. This time, the government wants to handle it themselves." Rhodes spoke quietly to Stark.
"I don't care. I want intel."
"I don't have any. If I did, I'd have caught him already." Rhodes glanced around, then whispered to Stark.
"What do you know about Killian and AIM? I remember your Iron Patriot was repainted by them."
"That was recommended by the Vice President. They supposedly have excellent technology. That's all I know."
Stark had already gathered some intel on Killian, mostly about AIM.
"Happy woke up and said this might be related to AIM. You should look into it." Stark quietly informed Rhodes.
"Got it. I'll keep an eye on it."
"Pepper, what are you doing?" Tony asked, puzzled, seeing Pepper packing up when he returned to the seaside villa.
"What am I doing? We're moving, of course." Pepper said angrily.
"Moving? Why? Isn't this place nice?" Stark asked, confused.
"Because you revealed our address. Should we wait for terrorists to show up? Pack your things. We're moving today." Pepper shouted at Stark.
"Isn't it overreacting?" Stark said nonchalantly.
While many people knew Stark's address, only those of a certain status were aware. Ordinary people didn't know his address.
For example, in Daniel's previous life, would an average person know the address of high-profile entrepreneurs? Certainly not.
"Jarvis, give him the data." Pepper demanded.
"Sir, since you announced the address, we've received nearly 100,000 threat letters and 110,000 phone calls." Jarvis listed a bunch of data.
Jarvis's capabilities prevented the place from being hacked.
After all, this was Stark's revealed address.
In fact, most of those calls and letters were to promote something to Stark.
Ding-dong.
At that moment, the doorbell rang, startling Stark, who then complained to Jarvis for not informing him.
Jarvis explained he was too busy handling online data to manage this.
