Revealing Secrets

Shintaro agreed to it casually, as there wasn't much happening lately.

As a Jonin, he couldn't take on daily missions due to the impact of war mobilization and was always on standby to fight on the front lines.

So, besides spending time with Kurenai, he usually didn't do much.

Shintaro planned to spend the next period training at Orochimaru's Research Institute.

After Orochimaru saw him agree, he slightly raised his eyebrows and said, "Shintaro-kun, I look forward to working with you."

Although Shintaro's task was still to assist him, his status had been upgraded from assistant to partner.

The two then conducted a series of experiments on Hashirama cells in the institute.

After finishing today's work, Shintaro returned home.

It was the residence of the Uchiha Clan, not the Yuhi residence.

Hikaru stopped in front of the door and stared at Shintaro, chirping several times unpleasantly.

"I'm back."

He packed his clothes and suitcase, put them in a backpack, and took them to Yuhi's house.

Shintaro walked in calmly, put away his luggage, and said, "I'm planning to move into your house. My place is too far from the training ground and Orochimaru's research institute. Besides, I have to run to your place every day anyway."

The door was shut by Kurenai.

"Hey, my luggage is still in there."

The door opened again, and Shintaro's luggage was thrown out.

"Then I'll sleep in front of your house." Shintaro shouted, then lay down on the spot.

Shintaro walked straight into the house, picked up the sugar from the ground, and started playing with the cat.

Kurenai picked up the luggage on the floor and put it in her house, and said, "You can stay in the guest room. No one has lived there all year. It needs to be cleaned."

He turned to Kurenai and said, "Let me answer the question you just asked."

Shintaro pulled her to sit on the sofa, raised his right hand, and said, "Here, extend your hand."

"Huh?" Kurenai looked puzzled.

"Come on, come on." Shintaro urged, shaking his palm.

Kurenai raised her eyes and looked into his eyes. He clearly didn't look like a hooligan.

So she extended her hand and leaned forward hesitantly.

At this moment, strangely, her palm stopped within range.

"What's happening? Why can't I touch it?"

Kurenai opened her mouth in surprise.

Shintaro smiled and patiently explained, "Precisely, what you encountered is [Infinity] between you and me."

"Why did my hand stop?" Kurenai didn't quite understand what [Infinity] meant.

"Rather than stopping, it should be said that the closer you get to me, the slower it becomes." Shintaro continued to explain, "But I can touch you."

Shintaro defended himself with a smile while leaning forward to look at her.

Kurenai looked into his eyes in confusion.

Kurenai felt trust in his words and was slightly moved.

Shintaro said sincerely: "Because I feel these things can't always be hidden from you, and now I'm strong enough to protect you and keep this secret."

Kurenai nodded and said, "I always knew you had secrets. I've known since we were kids."

Shintaro smiled, pinched her soft, red cheek, and said, "As expected of my deskmate."

Kurenai asked, "Oh? What's different?"

"I like you, but I don't like them."

His straightforward words shocked Kurenai. When she heard the words "I like you." her face turned red.

"No... I'm not talking to you anymore. I'll prepare dinner."

Kurenai ran to the kitchen in a panic and started preparing dinner for today.

Shintaro looked at her back and laughed, then leaned back on the sofa and comfortably waited for dinner tonight.

Tonight's dinner was pickled wasabi octopus and grilled pork tonkotsu ramen.

When the fragrance came, Shintaro opened his eyes and walked to the dining table to sit down. He rested his head on one hand on the table and watched Kurenai's busy figure.

Kurenai first served the octopus and ramen on the table, then went to feed Shiro cat food.

Then she walked back to the dining table and saw Shintaro looking at her with a smile on his face. Kurenai was very angry.

'He says he likes me, but he doesn't even help me.'

She opened the chair and sat down, then said.

"I'll definitely do it next time. Since we're all here now, I'll have plenty of time to help you in the future."

Kurenai snorted and lowered her head to eat the noodles.

Shintaro picked up the chopsticks and put the octopus into Kurenai's bowl, and said gently, "Don't you like eating this? Eat more."

After eating, Shintaro helped clean up the dining table, washed the dishes, then went upstairs to tidy his room.

Tonight, for some reason, he slept very soundly.

Shintaro was knocked on the door by Kurenai and asked to come down for breakfast.
