ASHLEY’s POV

I left Uno and ran inside the house immediately and the moment I closed the door behind me, my sobs finally broke. I have never thought that I would say those words to him, but I had to. I had to hurt him for him to forget me. For him to leave me.

Uno and I couldn’t be together anymore. I’ve promised myself that I was going to forget everything about my painful past, about my friends, about him. I needed to be strong, and I could only do that if I was not with him. I had planned my future, and he won’t be in the picture. Our future won’t work together because I knew that I would destroy his.

Lucas leaned back against the wall, his arms crossed on his chest, his eyes closed. While dad was sitting on the couch, his head leaned back on the seat, watching me with solace and comfort.
