The morning had dragged on, an endless parade of meetings and reports that left me feeling restless and bored. I leaned back in my chair, spinning it slowly as I gazed out of my office window.

The city skyline held little interest for me today. What was Elena doing? The thought crossed my mind, and I found myself reaching for the phone without a second thought.

"Lydia, come to my office, please," I said, my tone curt but polite.

A few minutes later, Lydia walked in, her expression as professional as always. "Yes, Carmen?"

"Where is Elena right now?" I asked, not bothering to hide my impatience.

Lydia checked her tablet. "She's at a photo shoot, ma'am. Scheduled to last most of the day."

A smile tugged at the corner of my lips. "Clear all my meetings for this afternoon."

Lydia raised an eyebrow, clearly taken aback. "But Carmen, you have several important meetings lined up. Postponing them will disrupt—"
