Drunk again

Collins stared wide-eyed at Aunt Agatha as her laughter filled the air. He had just explained his ordeal to her and wondered why she found it funny rather than sympathetic.

They were currently in the sitting room where aunt Agatha had waited while Collins cleaned up.

Aunt Agatha soon noticed the displeased look on Collins' face, and so she quit laughing.

"You are prepared to throw your life away for a girl you've never met?" Aunt Agatha asked, on a serious note.

When she got no response from Collins, she continued,

"It's a good thing you are stepping up to get what you want, but you don't actually know her, and if you really want to have her, putting yourself in harm's way will not help." Aunt Agatha advised.

"But she suddenly stopped talking to me, and I don't know why." Collins complained.

"Did you not stop talking to her some time ago? Did you stop to think how it made her feel then?" Aunt Agatha asked, and Collins wondered whose side she was in.
