Chapter-3

FLASHBACK-: 2 months ago

"No way Shruti!! Ronit won't be like that. He can't cheat on me." Navya shouted on Shruti, her high school best friend who was sitting beside her.

Shruti looked at Navya with sad eyes. "Infact.... that's exactly what happened Navya, one month ago Ronit married Priyanka because she was already pregnant." Shruti said to Navya in a sad voice.

Shruti couldn't finish her sentence because Navya had already shouted her again, half screaming. "No way!! You're lying right Shruti? Look Shruti don't play games with me on this topic. Don't lie to me." Navya screamed at her and grabbed her shoulder, almost shaking her body.

Shruti grabbed both Navya's hand back, but her face still looked sad. "I'm not lying Navya. Why would I lie to you? You came here because you wanted to know the truth right? That's the truth Navya. Ronit is already married to Priyanka." This time Shruti also shouted to match Navya's voice.

Navya fell onto the sofa behind her. Her eyes glaring at Shruti and her face looked pale. Everything around her seemed to collapse, then slowly crack and crumble. "How could this have happened?" She questioned herself.

(After sometime)

Navya stopped her car infront of a magnificent three story house which is located in the east of Jabalpur. She knew this house very well. Five years ago, she also played and stayed in this house as if it had become her second home. Navya got out of her car, slamming the car door with a loud bang, then scurried to the front of the tall back fence. She rang the bell beside the railing impatiently.

"Miss Navya!! When you came back from Banglore?" The driver and caretaker of the luxury home asked surprisingly after he opened the gate.

"Is Ronit at home sir?" Instead of answering his question Navya immediately pointed at him with a high pitched question.

"Ronit...." The old man stammered half blowing his head.

Navya was still looking at the man with bulging eyes. Navya knew the old man was innocent but her cold heart angry mind made her unable to remain calm.

"Is Ronit here sir?" Navya again repeated in a louder voice.

"Sorry...Miss Navya....Ronit sir don't live here anymore." The old man answered haltingly. Sweat started tricking down his forehead.

"Where is he now?" Navya asked the old man.

"Ngg...what?" The old man asked Navya confusingly.

"Where is Mr. Ronit sir?" Navya started yelling at the old man, loosing her temper.

"He lives in his new house....S-since he married...Miss Priyanka." Finally the old man gave an honest that Navya wanted to hear.

Navya's whole body started trembling with emotion. She didn't go inside the house. She turned quickly and got back into her car. Her hands were still shaking when she started the car. Tears started to fell down from her cheeks uncontrollably.

Navya's heart was broken into pieces. "How could Ronit who had been her boyfriend since class 10, have the heart to betray her like this? Not only Ronit, but Priyanka too!!" Navya thought in her mind. She couldn't able to accept the truth, that her boyfriend is married to her bestfriend.

Navya drove the car in full speed but her mind is not focused on the road. She sobbed continuously while driving.

"What did I do wrong, that Ronit who has my heart had to cheat behind my back?" Navya questioned herself while sobbing. Ronit even didn't have the dare to speak the truth if he wanted to breakup with her. They both never had any serious problem in their relationship. They weren't even fight in their relationship.

"Where does I lack? I'm always loyal to you, even though there are many other boys who approached to me, I always ignored them for our relationship. Why you dumped me like this Ronit?" Navya screamed in anger inside the car. She was still crying.

Shruti's words were ringing in her ears. "Ronit married Priyanka because she was already pregnant!! Ohh God!! Since when did you became like that Ronit?" Navya again screamed. Tears continued to flow from her eyes.

The Ronit she knows is gentle and always romantic to her. He never showed inappropriate or insolent behaviour when he was with her. They had kissed many times during their relationship but nothing more than that. "How could Ronit have the guts to do something inappropriate with her best friend Priyanka?" Navya thought in her mind.

Navya's tear spilled down her face. Her body shook violently holding back her turbulent feelings. Her chest felt stuffy. It was hard for her to catch her breath because of continuous sobbing.

The car she was driving reached at the traffic junction. She didn't realised the traffic light was red, the car keep moving forward with full speed. A loud honk from the left suddenly startled her. A heavy truck is approaching towards her car. She was taken aback. She reacted quickly by moving the steering wheel to right. The car spun around erratically due to full speed and CRACK!!! It was too late.... everything went dark.

(At hospital)

Navya opened her eyes slowly. Everything seems to be spinning around her. She closed her eyes again, blinked hard then tried to open her eyes again. "White colour everywhere, pungent peculiar smell. Is this a hospital?" Navya thought in her mind.

"Navya...." Rishabh, her brother's voice called out. Rishabh's worried face appeared infront of Navya, looking at her with furrowed eyebrows.

"Rishabh...." Navya could hear her own weak voice.

"Thank God you're awake. You're now in the hospital." Rishabh said after a deep breath.

Navya's head felt dizzy, the surroundings seemed to be spinning to her. She tried to move both her hands and feet but she couldn't. Her whole body felt stiff.

"Don't move fast Navya, the doctor said your body is okay but you hit your head. You need to rest a lot." Rishabh continued.

"How this happened?" Navya asked confusingly.

Navya began to remember what happened. She remembered the last thing she saw was a truck speeding towards her car.

"The back of your car hit to the truck, then you fainted." Rishabh told her after what happened.

"How's the car now?" Navya interrupted in panic.

"You don't have to think about the car. The important thing is that you're safe now. Dad will arrive soon." Rishabh said to Navya.

Navya looked at the face of Rishabh, her handsome brother. Instantly the pain in her heart appeared again, Rishabh's face somehow reminded her of Ronit.

The door to the hospital room opened suddenly. Her dad's tall dashing figure stood infront of the door.

"Navya...!" Her dad screamed and rushed towards Navya's bed. He stroked Navya's face and hair worriedly. It was the first time that Navya had seen her dad so much worried.

"Dad... I'm...." Navya about to say something but her dad interrupted.

"I know everything. Rishabh said you went to Ronit's house right?" Her dad immediately pointed her with a question.

Navya was stunned after hearing this. Navya had to tell Rishabh about Ronit as the car she was using was Rishabh's car. The car itself is being serviced at the workshop and she took the car before servicing. "The workshop owner must told this to dad. Oh god... because of my carelessness, dad knows everything." Navya said in her mind.

"Why are you looking for him again? The guy suddenly disappeared and left you without any news of him and you're searching for him?" Her dad's voice can be heard in the whole floor.

"Dad..." Rishabh reminded him that he is in hospital. Her dad calmed down.

Navya immediately sobbed hearing her dad's words. The image of the previous day's events flashed back into her mind. She remembered the harsh truth which she had to accept even though she had only been back to Jabalpur for a day.

"Dad....Ronit is married." Navya said and couldn't hold back her tears.

"What!!" Rishabh exclaimed in surprise. Her dad's eyes also widened after hearing her words.

"Yes Ronit.... married to Priyanka....my bestfriend...!" Navya screamed in tears.

Her dad brought his forehead close to Navya, stroking her head to calm her down. Rishabh gripped Navya's hand tightly. Navya's sobs continued to echo in the treatment room.
