Nadya's journey (4

"Will you allow us to at least see how this cement is being made?" One of the merchant asked with anticipation. Igor was talking to them politely and that was why one of them raised this question.

Upon hearing this question, many of the merchants and the people including Nadya perked up their ears as they eagerly awaited to hear Igor's answer.

Without doubt, many of these people wanted to know what was the thing that was being used to create this powder. They wanted to find out so that they could create this cement themselves and earn money.

"No problem. In October when we officially open this plant to the public, you will all be allowed to walk around our plant and observe what our workers are doing there, after all, his majesty king Virtya made this plant for the people and not for himself." Igor answered with a smile. Virtya would allow the people to inspect the cement plant because he knew that recreating this cement plant elsewhere was not going to be that conceivable because first, Virtya was using the power of the waterfall to power this cement plant which meant that if one wanted to make a copy like this one, they would have to first look for a waterfall and not just any waterfall but a powerful one at that.

Secondly, Pollow cement was situated close to the abundant raw material for the cement production and then the cost of erecting a cement plant was not cheap.

This was not like a plough which anyone out there could go to their home and start molding, no.

It costed less to build this cement plant because Virtya used the cheap iron he obtained from the Northern continent, he used the cheap labor from the slaves and he had literate experts like Osip who helped him to build this factory.

This factory could not be built by just anyone even if they were given its design because building the architecture and the mechanical parts of it needed only the experts who were adept at building each phase of it.

Even making something as simple as the piping of the cement plant needed literate brains that knew what they were doing.

For other kingdoms who had the designs of the cement plant, it would take them several months before they understand this fact and it would once again take them years to build a successful cement plant, that was if they didn't involve Virtya.

Rather, it would take an intelligent mind to realize that they didn't even need to go with Virtya's design to build a cement plant, what they simply need to do is to know the formula of producing cement and then they would know what to do from there by creating their own designs that favoured them as opposed to replicating everything from Virtya.

Anyway, the mundane natives and the merchants were coming in and going back with disappointed looks on their faces because they didn't manage to procure the cement or get to see how it was made.

Nadya was exhausted, disappointed and hopeless. She expected that this cement was going to be what will save her from exiting the market as a merchant but it turned out that she would have to wait for longer.

It had remained only ten days to welcome the month of October but to a merchant like Nadya, staying in Azuhai for all those ten days without doing anything meant losing money as she would be spending money to stay here and she would not be working. This really pained Nadya.

"What can I do?" Nadya asked the boy beside her. She was seated on a rock while watching other people asking Igor questions.

Nadya had been there for a long time and she had watched people coming in and going back with disappointed looks but she didn't left because she didn't have the energy to go back to Whiten with nothing. But what could she do?

"We will just have to go back to Whiten and find a place to stay until October when the cement plant will be opened." The boy answered. He untied a gourd from his waist and gulped down some water from it before he gave the gourd to Nadya.
