Nadya's journey (2

Still, while Nadya was moving from Isthmus town to Pollow, she had been watching around to see if there was something new for sale which would be profitable like the farm tools and the plough but she didn't see anything new other than the clothes and the foodstuffs that populated the market as the main merchandise being sold.

Not finding anything pained Nadya but when she recalled the miraculous effect of the cement, she calmed down and continued her journey to Pollow.

And here she was, her crew and herself were exhausted but she didn't allow them to relax as she wanted so much to see for herself where this cement was being produced so that if she could make this cement by herself in Litkesh kingdom, then it would probably save her from exiting the market due to tough competition from her fellow Litkesh merchants.

It was very early in the morning when Nadya arrived in Pollow and there was a high humidity in the air which had made the surroundings to be blurred by mist, Nadya's eyes could not see more than six metres from where she was, but this didn't stop her from going forward.

Although Pollow was usually calm and eerily quite, the erection of the cement plant had made the route from Whiten to Pollow to be too noisy and crowded.

Back then, one would usually hear the chirping of birds, the sounds of the crickets mating, the croaking of the frogs and the swaying of the trees. It was all nature but nowadays, the route to the cement plant was too noisy.

One could hear the labourers screaming and hollering here and there as they struggled to push the wagons, there was the neighing of the horses, the jabbering of the labourers and the merchants and the clanking noises of steel.

It was not quite at all even at night, one could hear the eerily striking sounds echoing from the overtime cement factory as the mechanism worked its wonders. After all, the cement factory was working even at night.

Step by step, Nadya's caravan moved and after three hours when the mist had dissipated, Nadya could see something ahead.

The road leading to the cement plant was muddy because of being walked on fron time to time by the passing wagons and the labourers. However, the road was not what attracted Nadya's attention, it was the tall buildings that were still being constructed.

The buildings were so striking in that one could see them from afar because of how tall they were.

They were the only thing that the eyes could first see before one could turn to look at something else.

Of course, what Nadya was seeing was the ongoing construction of the 25 floors apartments that was expected to be the residents to the workers of the cement plant. There were seven apartments being constructed and each apartment was expected to have twenty five floors.

"What is that?" A boy who was among Nadya's caravan asked while pointing at the buildings.

"It seems like a tall structure protruding from the ground. Hey look! There are people up there." As they approached the buildings, they could see clearly what it was and astonishment was what was plastered on their faces. Everyone in Nadya's caravan was agape.

"How did they do it. This building is so tall but why has it not fall down? Look! That floor seems like it was built recently but these people are already building another floor on top of it, I think they should have given it a month to dry up before they could add another layer, right?"

Everyone coming to this side of Pollow had to stop and view the progress of these ongoing constructions before they could do anything else. It was only the labourers that were not allowed to stop to watch because they were supposed to continue with their work.

On the wall of one of the building that faced the route that the people were passing by, Nadya could see a copy of the banner that she saw at the crusade with the painted words: Pollow cement.

"So, this is the use of that cement thing?" Nadya murmured to herself before she smiled.

"Let's go!" Nadya urged for her caravan to continue moving forward. They traveled for two kilometers before they came to a halt.
