Chapter 443 Operation Begins, Saving Peter

Snape's worries may be unfounded, but they are not entirely without foundation.

It's like how, after the invention of the nuclear bomb, many people worried that human civilisation would be destroyed by nuclear weapons. This stems from a fear of the unknown, as well as one's own weakness and vulnerability.

Is magic weak?

On the surface, it seems that magic is less destructive than modern weapons. Many things that magic can do, modern technology can do as well.

But in reality, magic is very destructive.

For example, an uncontrolled Fiendfyre Curse.

Even if we don't count the Fiendfyre Curse, with Andy's current level of magic, it's not difficult to blow up a street with a Blasting Curse.

Even Peter Pettigrew can do this.

This suggests that there are undoubtedly many wizards in the magical world with the ability to blow up a street.

Modern technology is indeed constantly improving, but it has only been developed for a few hundred years.

In contrast, wizard civilisation has been around for thousands of years.

In fact, magic can indeed do many things that technology cannot. At least at the point in time when Andy died, technology still could not turn back time.

Destroying the world using the power of other dimensions... This sounds like a tall tale, but from a magical perspective, it is not entirely impossible.

Andy ignored the way Snape was looking at him, and to be honest, he had seen that look before.

"In fact, from the clues I have so far, it is not an unfounded delusion to say that the soul comes from a higher dimension."

Andy continued, "Think about the consequences of having your soul devoured by a Dementor; and then think about the human brains soaking in the Brain Hall... If a human loses their soul, their body doesn't die, but they are left with just their most basic instincts."

"The body belongs to the real world, while the soul comes from a higher dimension... Perhaps to beings from a higher dimension, we are no different from the 'people' in paintings."

Snape was silent for a moment after hearing this, and then said, "The time for the execution is almost here."

He intended to calm down for a while, sort out his thoughts, and then decide what to say to Andy.

Andy didn't care when he saw this: "Professor, see you at school."

Snap!

After saying this, Andy snapped his fingers and instantly disappeared.

Snape also did not hesitate for a moment, waved his wand, and cast a Disillusionment charm on himself.

Andy hid behind a boulder, only half of his head sticking out, staring in the direction of Azkaban.

"Oh, I almost forgot!"

Andy muttered and put his wand in the pocket of his clothes, which had been enchanted with an undetectable extension charm. Then he took out a new wand from inside—the one Andy had snatched in his trip to the Knockturn Alley.

Wands could also reveal one's identity.

After waiting for about three or four minutes, numerous figures appeared out of thin air in front of the prison gates of Azkaban. There were about twenty people, and the leader was none other than the Minister of Magic, Cornelius Fudge.

Andy's old acquaintance Rufus Scrimgeour was also among them.

There were also a few witches and wizards with magical cameras, who were presumably reporters from the Daily Prophet.

What a grand procession!

With so many people suddenly appearing, the dementors immediately became restless. For monsters like the dementors, these people were all fresh and delicious food.

Wow –

The Dementors' unusual movements immediately caused a small disturbance in the crowd.

Andy saw that many people involuntarily took a step back.

'It seems that only those few are a threat,' Andy noted the faces.

In fact, most wizards in the magical world are ordinary civilians. Although they can use the magic power, they have not received any professional training. When they encounter danger, they will panic and feel lost like ordinary muggles.

In the Ministry of Magic team, a wizard in a suit walked forward, seemingly negotiating with the Dementors.

Under the wizard's appeasement, the Dementors quickly calmed down, but they seemed to be more excited—because they could absorb a soul today.

Andy watched with interest.

To be honest, Andy kind of wanted to see how the Dementors absorbed souls.

Because according to Andy's speculation, souls originated from higher-dimensional worlds.

The Dementors feed on positive emotions, so are souls really more delicious food for them? Or are they treasures that can enhance their own power?

If it's the latter... then the Dementors are bound to be very interesting.

The crowd quickly settled down. Scrimgeour walked up to Fudge and said a few words. Fudge nodded, and Scrimgeour walked towards Azkaban.

After waiting for about five minutes, Scrimgeour led four Hit Wizards and escorted Peter Pettigrew out.

Peter Pettigrew was bound with ropes and had a ring-shaped magical device around his neck. He wailed loudly, pleading for help, with tears streaming down his face, looking extremely miserable.

But no one at the scene would speak up for him.

Perhaps it was because Voldemort had brought so much pressure and fear to the British wizarding community that even today, the vast majority of wizards still dare not utter the name 'Voldemort'.

Anyone associated with Voldemort is guilty of a serious crime.

What's more, Peter Pettigrew was a confirmed Death Eater!

The Hit Wizards brought Peter Pettigrew to a stone pillar, and a reporter took two photos.

Then Fudge took two steps forward and loudly announced the crimes committed by Peter Pettigrew.

Espionage, breach of security, murder, attempted disclosure of the wizarding world...

Andy was standing a little far away, but he still could vaguely hear the sounds.

After counting carefully, Fudge laid out a total of 22 charges against Peter Pettigrew. Most of these charges were enough to sentence Peter Pettigrew to life imprisonment.

After listing Peter's crimes, Fudge announced loudly once again: "Due to the sheer number of crimes committed by Peter Pettigrew, the Ministry of Magic has decided to execute him by Dementor's Kiss."

The crowd then moved away from Peter at Fudge's command, in case the Dementors mistook them for Peter and attacked them.

The Aurors and the Hit Wizards formed a large circle around Peter Pettigrew—neither approaching Peter Pettigrew nor allowing anyone with malicious intent to get close.

Andy looked at the layout of the square.

He had to admit, this was a perfect opportunity to save someone.

To prevent the Dementors from harming them, no one dared to get near Peter Pettigrew during the execution—which provided an excellent opportunity to rescue him.

As long as they touched Peter Pettigrew, they could use the Portkey to instantly leave.

"Action!"

Snape whispered, and then Andy faintly heard a sound of footsteps, but it quickly disappeared.

Andy did not delay after hearing this, and after casting an Imperturbable Charm on himself, he walked silently towards the execution ground.
