Chapter 266: Hogwarts at Night

The feud between Harry and Snape has been going on for a long time, from when Harry first enrolled in school. No, it was even a little earlier.

Snape had hated the boy since Harry was a fetus.

How bitter and bone-deep would this hatred be?

And according to the laws of physics ... the forces are mutual.

Snape hated Harry, so Harry naturally hated Snape.

To this day, this mutual hatred had lasted for over a full year - all it would take was for one of the two to be unlucky, and the other would be happy for days.

"Harry, Severus has been at Hogwarts for over ten years, he's an excellent professor, and we all trust him," Dumbledore said with a straight face.

Harry: "..."

Professor, do you believe yourself when you say such things?

If an anonymous poll was held at Hogwarts for the most hated professor, Harry felt Snape would be a well-deserved first place.

"Harry, perhaps you hold a prejudice against Severus, but we can't suspect someone for no reason just because we hate them."

Dumbledore took the opportunity to educate, "In that respect, George and Fred are well worth learning from."

"Do you know why Filch didn't go to the Great Hall for dinner on Halloween? It's because George and Fred used Transfiguration to create a cat, and they tricked Filch."

"But they were the first to come forward when Filch was under suspicion. They testified on Filch's behalf that he didn't go to the Great Hall for a valid reason."

Harry was shaken by what he heard.

Harry had lived in the Burrow for a while during the summer holiday a few months ago, and of course, he knew how much the Weasley twins hated Filch - they had started planning during the summer holiday how they would prank Filch when the academic year started.

"Professor, I ..." Harry said with an ashamed look on his face.

Dumbledore had a relieved look on his face, recognizing a mistake and correcting it, Harry is such a good boy, "Harry, making mistakes isn't terrible. You didn't come to Hogwarts just to learn magic, more importantly, you have to learn how to be a human being."

Harry: No! Professor, what I'm trying to say is that I'm still suspicious of Snape.

But ... since Professor Dumbledore has already said it like that, I might as well hold my tongue for a bit.

As long as I can find proof, Dumbledore will have no reason to continue trusting Snape.

"Oh~"

Dumbledore turned his gaze to Ron, "Harry, your friend is about to wake up."

"Ron!" Harry turned his head to Ron in a hurry.

"Well ..."

Opening his eyes, Ron looked around with a blank expression.

What is this place ...

Harry, and Dumbledore...?

This is the Headmaster's office?

"Ron!"

Harry shouted, "Ron, how are you?"

"I ..." Ron pressed his head, and the memories came in like a tidal wave, causing Ron's head to feel vaguely swollen.

Dumbledore gently knocked on the desk, and a glass of water appeared in front of Ron out of thin air, "This is honey water, it can make you slightly more comfortable."

"Thank you, Professor Dumbledore." Ron swigged down half the glass in one gulp.

"Ron, what the hell happened?" Harry asked impatiently after him.

"I... I don't know."

Ron was at a loss, "My mind went blank and my body was out of control ... Until just now, I didn't realize that so much time had passed."

Dumbledore asked seriously, "Ron, do you remember when it happened?"

Ron recalled, "It was probably yesterday afternoon ... Professor Dumbledore, I, what's wrong with me?"

Harry said hurriedly, "You're under an Imperius Curse!"

"Imperius Curse!!!?"

Ron looked horrified, but immediately afterwards, it's unknown what came to his mind, suddenly he changed his words and said, "That's cool!"

Harry asked with concern, "Ron, is there anything wrong with your body?"

"No!"

Ron shook his head, "Other than a bit of bloated head, everything else is fine. Man, seriously, that feeling is kinda cosy."

Dumbledore said in a serious tone, "Yes, a person who has been under an Imperius Curse will feel their brain go blank, and then they will feel incredibly happy."

"When the caster tries to manipulate you, you will hear a voice and then your body will involuntarily follow his orders."

Harry grimaced at that and questioned, "A voice? Ron, can you recognize whose voice that is? And, who cast the Imperius Curse on you?"

Ron looked distressed, "Harry, if I knew, I would have told you guys a long time ago."

Dumbledore suddenly said at that moment, "Alright, Harry. Ron needs to rest now."

"I've pretty much figured it out, so you guys should go back to your rest early too! Oh yeah, don't forget to eat dinner."

"Professor, we're off then." Harry and Ron's said as they got up.

The so-called enemies have a narrow path.

Just after walking out of the Headmaster's office, Harry and Ron met Professor Snape head-on.

Harry grimaced.

He had only just accused Snape at Dumbledore's place, and now he met Snape ... In addition to feeling a little guilty, Harry seriously suspected that Snape was also going over to complain.

The three of them walked past with their shoulders crossed.

Snape had a look of disgust on his face, while Harry and Ron broke out in a cold sweat.

Only when Snape walked into the Headmaster's office did Ron pat his chest and say, "Thank goodness he didn't deduct our points."

"He had no reason to deduct our points," Harry said stubbornly.

"No, he had a reason."

Ron spat, "The two of us are walking side by side and taking up too much space in the corridor ... Two points from Gryffindor."

Harry: "..."

***

Great Hall door.

"Hi! Harry, Ron."

Andy leaned against the wall of the hallway and waved at the duo, "I knew I would run into you guys here."

"Good evening, Andy, and Granger." Harry and Ron walked over.

Ron made a bitter face, "I'm so sorry, Dumbledore said I was under that what's-it ... Imperius Curse. I couldn't control myself."

It was really an Imperius Curse.

Andy spread his hands and said, "It's okay, you didn't do anything anyway."

"Thanks!" Ron had a thankful look on his face.

Hermione couldn't help but ask curiously, "Weasley, what did the one controlling you want you to do?"

"How should I know?" Ron bristled.

Andy explained, "An Imperius Curse wouldn't simply control someone, the caster would give commands to the person who was under the spell, and the person under the spell would fulfil the commands by behaving the way he or she was supposed to."

"Since Ron didn't do anything, that means the caster didn't give the command."

"So ...," Hermione muttered in a small voice before giving Andy a dangerous look.

How do you know so much about the Imperius Curse?
