Project Soar

"Head west!"

"West? But our intelligence indicates the target is to the east," Elena quickly objected upon hearing Wang Weiya's suggestion to head west.

"I insist on going west!" Wang Weiya's reply was firm and unequivocal. "Miss Heinrich, I understand you wield considerable authority, but this is the Third Platoon, and I am the platoon leader. My orders are not subject to debate. If you wish, you may suggest to my superiors to relieve me of my duties, but until then, my decision stands!"

Elena, with her pride wounded, seemed to be seeing Wang Weiya in a new light.

Wang Weiya's words were filled with resolve, and as he had stated, he wouldn't allow anyone to challenge his authority on his turf.

Elena shot him a fierce glare with her azure eyes but conceded, albeit temporarily. "Fine, Lieutenant. I accept your decision, but if we lose the target because of this, you will bear full responsibility!"

"I am willing to accept that responsibility," Wang Weiya replied with a slight smile, facing the proud Elena.

The search party began to move westward, but Elena remained skeptical throughout the journey, unable to believe that the Military Intelligence Bureau could have made an error.

"This is it," Sergeant Hall, who was familiar with the terrain, stopped in front of a forest to brief them. "In this area, the enemy can only pass through here..."

"And it's a good spot for an ambush," Wang Weiya observed the terrain. "Sergeant Hall, take half the men there. The rest will stay here with me, waiting for my signal."

"Yes, Lieutenant." Sergeant Hall never wavered in carrying out orders.

Twenty men dispersed to their hiding spots. Adolf Hitler and Wang Weiya were paired together. It was evident that Hitler was nervous, much to the disdain of Elena.

A true German should not show any fear in front of the enemy.

"Lieutenant, can we really take out those British soldiers?" Hitler asked nervously.

"We can," Wang Weiya reassured him with a smile, easing his psychological pressure. "When the enemy appears, you must not be nervous, you must remain calm."

Hitler seemed despondent. "But I easily get nervous. I really don't know how to cure it."

"Keep a relaxed mindset," Wang Weiya comforted him. "When the war is over, find a quiet place to stay for a while. I believe your nervousness will gradually fade away."

Hitler seemed to have a sudden epiphany. "Where is considered a quiet place?"

"Tibet," Wang Weiya answered without hesitation.

He remembered visiting there once and being fascinated by everything. When Hitler asked, he mentioned it without much thought.

"Tibet? Where is that?" Hitler asked, puzzled.

Wang Weiya, monitoring the surroundings, absentmindedly replied, "It's in distant China. It's magnificent and magical there. You can find inner peace there. It's truly mysterious, and some say Tibet holds many mystical powers unknown to humans..."

Hitler, somehow producing a notebook, began scribbling. This piqued Wang Weiya's curiosity. "What are you writing?"

"Ah, Lieutenant, I'm recording your words," Hitler said eagerly, writing down, "Tibet... magnificent and magical... with mystical powers unknown to humans... In 1912, I saw one of the Catholic relics, 'Spear of Destiny,' which allegedly pierced Jesus on the cross, stained with holy blood, possessing great power. It had been owned by emperors like Theodosius and Roman emperors... Ah, perhaps Tibet holds even greater power than the Spear of Destiny, don't you think? I must visit when I have the chance."

Wang Weiya was taken aback, suddenly remembering something.

In 1938, Adolf Hitler and his confidant Himmler personally selected a group of scientists to form an "expedition team" to Tibet.

By January 1943, the second German "Tibet Expedition Team," led by Austrian mountaineer Harrer, set off once again for the "Roof of the World."

Their goal was clear: to find the Shambhala Cave, activate the Earth's axis, and turn back time to the Nazis' triumphant 1939. And with its power, create an invincible "Aryan army" for Nazi Germany.

Could everything Hitler did later be influenced by him today?

Wang Weiya felt puzzled, but suddenly, his tracker on his arm tightened; Little Spirit was calling him.

"Hey, I'll go check that out," Wang Weiya whispered and quietly moved to another secluded spot.

Little Spirit's voice came through, "Something's happening here. The 'Project Soar' mission has been initiated. You can now receive tank support for the Battle of the Somme... Mission progress gathering... "

What? Project Soar? Tank support for what? What does this mean?

"Don't ask me, I don't know either," Little Spirit told Wang Weiya clearly, "This mission is completely outside my known programs... Hmm? What does this mean? Purple Light Military Base self-modification and upgrade? Tank support ready? Wanderer has been authorized? I'm confused. I think you should come back when you have the chance..."

Wang Weiya was utterly bewildered. What was all this about? Wanderer? Wasn't that him? What authorization did he receive?

And what about the mission that even Little Spirit didn't know about?

Little Spirit's voice sounded confused, "Now it shows the completion rate of the Purple Light Military Base's self-modification and upgrade is one percent, and the tank assembly is complete. Status, standby. I'm researching what's going on here. I'll inform you when I have clues... Oh, and I need to equip you with some communication tools. It's too inconvenient for you to always find an empty place to communicate with me, and it's easy to increase the risk of being discovered."

Wang Weiya shook his head, utterly flabbergasted. This was all so bizarre. But right now, he didn't have the time to think about what was truly bizarre: the "Project Soar" mission. At least one thing was good; he could now receive tank support.

The tanks dispatched by Purple Light shouldn't be too bad, right?

Climbing back to the hidden position, he made up an excuse for himself: "There's no activity over there."
